I love this idea. (I watched the first one also.) I never knit shawls for the very reason that they're so awkward. I enjoy all your videos. Glad I found you.
I’m tempted to try this but just putting buttonholes in the final couple of inches of the short side, and putting buttons on the main piece to fasten it to. Love this video!
You are absolutely correct about shawl non-wearability if I want to show off the design - unless I'm sitting still - which for me is unrealistic. I don't knit them anymore because I don't wear them. This is tragic because I have so many beautiful shawl patterns. But you got me thinking ... besides converting to rectangles, some shawls might convert better to a (seamless?) conical shape ... I am inspired! ✨
I totally understand the “ I can’t keep a shawl on” story. And I love the coziness of the wrap. I see many shawl that I think I would like to make, then say but you won’t use it! I’m going to watch all your recommended video and then find a shawl pattern This video has gotten me very excited to create, especially as we settle in for a long Canadian winter.
Thank You so much!!! I'm in a mechanical wheel chair and I have had several mishaps with long flowing garments. They get under the wheel and it rolls over them until the item is on the floor. I hate too much stuff around my neck and I need just a little something to help hide my sitting tummy. This idea is perfect for me!! Thanks again
Terrific info! Now I feel like revisiting my foray into shawls. I’ve always thought there were so many beautiful patterns but never made one because they seem so finicky to wear
A wonderful idea! Adjusting the size need not be a trial and error situation though, as any good seamstress will tell you, before you cut the expensive fabric you make a muslin, try it on, and make any needed adjustments to the pattern. You can cut your rectangular shape from a piece of fabric or an old bedsheet or towel, whatever you have at hand. Then just make your knit rectangle to the size of your makeshift pattern, allowing for the ease or lack thereof of the fiber you are using. A good starting estimate would probably be to measure from the nape of your neck down to your desired length in the back and that would be the width of the rectangle. The approximate length would be the measurement around your shoulders at the collarbone plus the width. So if you favor a 16 inch width (length at the back) and the measurement around your shoulders is 42 inches, your rectangle length would be about 58 inches.
I totally agree! In my second video I suggested that very thing - doing a mock up with a towel. I forgot to mention it this time, so thanks so much for adding this! 😊
Fabulous topic! I am a fairly new knitter. I love the shawls, but cannot wear them well either. So, I had decided not to make anymoreI will definitely consider this method. .
I just frogged four shawls made over several years and will be knitting garments with the yarn. I’ve become more skilled since I first started knitting.
I love your thought process. I love shawls as show off pieces. Many younger knitters like to wear shawls bibb style...nor me. I did an interesting mosaic asymmetrical shawls and it doesn't wear well. Can't wait to see how I sew it together!
👏👏Wonderful! I have never seen this type of adjustment in a shawl anywhere before. I stopped knitting shawls last year for the exact same reason you mention - mine would usually shift and slide, no matter shawl pins or brooches! Cuffs seem too bulky to me. A few years ago I learned to knot each end of my triangular shawls to keep them from slipping - so made nice draped, long or short cowls with them but too warm at times and as you say, hard to see all the lovely patterns. 👍This is a great solution. Thank you! Eyeing my "As You Wish" mkal wrap right now - ready to roll😅
Thank you, I just finished the nightshift and thought that the shape was’nt showing of the beautiful colours and pattern, and it feels weird around my neck. Your wrap version is so much better. I❤ it.
This is great! I am a small person and most wraps or shawls make me look like I'm drowning in yarn. They often hang almost to my knees. I ordered yarn this year thinking that I might try Steven West's shawl knit-along but I watched it first to see if it would work for me. Nope! Way too big. I think all of his are. I wasn't even that keen on the pattern. However, that one you are wearing at the beginning and end of your video just might work for the yarn I got and for converting it into something I could wear. It looks like a fun knit so, once I've finished a couple of other projects, I will give it a try. I'm thinking I will buy one of the cheap fleece blankets and cut it up to get an idea of the size I might want. Thanks for a fun video and I'm definitely subscribing.
Unfortunately, I don't knit by I am a prolific crocheter. I also have had issues with keeping shawls on my shoulders and either resorted to pins (which don't always work with the drape factor) or frogging and reusing the yarn for another (unsatisfying) project. This concept is amazing and I will be using it soon. I'm not a big poncho fan but this is DEFINITELY a wonderful style option. Thanks for sharing your brain with all of us (even your crochet-cousins)!!
I haven’t converted any shawls into wrap overs …yet!!! But I did turn a too short rectangle shawl into something wearable. Thanks for the inspiration 🧶
Oh my goodness, you had me smiling and laughing so often in this one. And seeing Oscar in your fashion show footage was a huge bonus! 😍 I love that you not only share information, but also personal experiences, sometimes as a cautionary tale. Did you convince me to try the shawl-over technique? Nnnnnn...maybe. I have a few very asymmetrical shawls that I never wear because I find the shape too hard to style. I will be looking at those with new eyes now. I was going to get rid of my "Curls" shawl formula books (yeah, it's the shape of the F.O. Hate it.), but now I might reconsider that. You have given me a lot of food for thought. Thank you for another fun, informative, and just generally enjoyable episode! 🙂
Everybody has their own style, but I can't tolerate all that bulk around my neck and I want to show off my pretty knitting! (Yup, I like to show off...😘)
Thanks Nicole. Great idea to wear in a more comfortable way. Will be investigating what can be done with my shawls. Stopped knitting them and have only done a few Cowls but this will change everything. 🧶. 🙋🏼🏴
I have been wanting to try this, but was intimidated by the 2 tutorials. This overview gives me confidence to transform a shawl into a wrap over! I have 2 rectangular patterns in mind, and look forward to making them so much more wearable. Much appreciated!
This is a great video! I am a poncho gal and now I have some ideas about converting my existing shawls into a wrap and re-imagining other shawl patterns as wraps! You are very creative and kind to share your knowledge with us.
Thank you so much. I will definitely be watching your tutorials. I have a rectangular shawl that was designed to be sewn into a poncho, but it didn't work because it was too long. I'm now inspired to look at it again and maybe take it back some to see if this works better. I really enjoy your channel and that little sarcastic Oscar.
I think it would work for crochet just fine, as long as the fabric is drapey enough. I'm sure there are lots of crochet stitches that could achieve the desired effect 😃
This is fascinating! I absolutely love how your modifications show off the beauty of your shawls. And the vision of how it must feel to wear such a cozy wrap. I’m going to have to watch your other videos and think on this. I’ve knit a lot of smallish shawls and have wanted to make a poncho for some time. I would love to see your future knit wraparounds on your channel, from planning to modifications to finish. A KAL of some type would be amazing! I’m a new subscriber and am excited to watch more of your videos.
I was so excited to see this subject come up again - I’ve been obsessed with the idea of converting a pattern or two to this ever since watching the other two. It was a completely mind-blowing discovery and I love them. I haven’t done it yet BECAUSE I can’t decide!!!
The wraps put me in mind of the ponchos I made in the 70’s (but without the poncho points) For me personally, I like the triangle and half circle shawls. I like being able to get in and out of it quickly without messing my hair. However, on a cool night I can see snuggling up with the wrap all around me. There’s room for both styles in my wardrobe.
I love them all Nicole. Years ago i knitted a wrap but i like to have something around my neck so i added a turtleneck to it. Now that is an item i weare a lot.
I really appreciate this post. I as well was not happy with how shawls wouldn't stay on. I frogged two projects to make a wrap after I saw your first post about wraps. I am really happy for this post with more info, as I make my own patterns. You are fun to watch. Thank you. 😊
Hmmmm.....🤔I am not a knitter...crocheter....but, I bet this would work for crochet pieces as well. Your pieces are gobsmackingly beautiful 😍 I used to wear shawls all the time back in the 60's...flower power generation and all that 🏵🌺🌼... would be fabulous if they came back into fashion big time. Thank you for a nice "tutorial" and the great idea...will definitely alter the way I do shawls. 🤗
I completely agree that crochet could work beautifully, provided the fabric produced is drapey enough. I do a bit of crochet, but don't have enough experience to know off the top of my head which stitch types would work well, but I'm willing to bet there are lots of them! 😋
@@Knicoleknits Pssst 🤫 The secret to drape is all in the needle size. I just finished a project that had a beautiful stitch, but was a little "stiff" when using the hook size recommended. I went up 2 sizes for the beginning chain, and 1 1/2 size for the pattern...turned out tres' chic.
Thank you so much! I have several shawls and wraps, and they are one of my favorite things to knit. This gives me an option I hadn't considered. I'll definitely do it with some designs. Thanks again!
I love this! One of the reasons I love knitting is that I get to do geometry in 3D. I think I'm going to make the Westknits Stripeometry into a rectangular wrap
I too can’t wear shawls, and have given them all away, except my first MKAL (Starting Point by joji Locateli) which I use as my comfy chair cover. I have lots of shawl patterns I’ve bought, so I can’t wait to make wrap-overs! Thanks
I made Nightshift for a friend from a kit and love love love it. I started one for myself using a ton of my stash yarn, using needles that were too small making it too dense. Resolving to frog it was dead simple once I saw I could convert it to a wrap. And I'll pay better attention to the drapiness of the yarn this time.
I actually turned my Geogradient 2023 mkal by Stephen West into a wrap thanks to your previous videos and it is one of my most worn accessories ❤ That one wasn't a rectangle but I modified it to be a parellogram and figured a way to sew it in a somewhat wrap shape and it works 😅
This is a wonderful idea! I'm thinking of replacing the sewing part with buttons. When you have menopause hot flashes, this thing has to come out quickly... 🥵 Also, you can still wear it as the first intended purpose of the design.
I think u are on to something here and I am going to rethink some future projects. Currently I plan on knitting a shawl in a Faroese shape and see if that stays on my shoulders. I want to try your adaption for a shawl, too. Thx
Hello from Toronto. Thank you for making this video. I am really challenged in fixing my shawls in an appropriate way so I no longer make crescent shawls. I pretty much stick to triangular shawls which I can just throw over my shoulders. They they pretty much stay put if the back is deep enough or half circle shawls which again I can just throw over my shoulders. I will give this a shot with my Crescent shawl which took so long to make.
I just knit my first shawl as I wanted to knit a cover up that wouldn’t be as hot as a sweater. I have a hard time regulating my temperature so I need to dress in light layers and I thought a shawl could help. I knit a very lovely, very large triangular shawl and now am trying to figure out how to wear it. Your video popped up in my subscription and you had the same issues that I have been having! I am not sure if sewing my triangle shawl will work as it is quite large. I will have to ponder that. But my next shawl will be a wrap. Thanks for your fun and informative video.
Also a note about joining. I recently attended a session at my local yarn store about joining knitted pieces together with the mattress stitch. The instructor said that they don't use extra yarn from the end of binding off. Instead they use a new piece of yarn, leaving the starting end free. In that way, if the seam isn't looking the way that you like, you can easily pull it out instead of having to pick all the sewn stitches out. When you are done seaming you can sew in each end to finish things nicely.
That’s awesome! It sounds like a big shawl! Play around with it a bit and see if you can make something work. If not, you can frog it and start over or give it to someone who would love it 😊
Great idea! I'm going to forward this to a few friends who love to knit shawls but never wear them. So thank you for sharing! Why are you foggy? I thought it was my glasses. Also, sliced bread gave us sandwiches. You can't make a sandwich with broken bread!
Great Idea. I love knitting shawls, but they hardly get warm. I wear scarves and cowls much more often. This is a fantastic idea. Unless it's too big of a shake. Like Stephen Wests and many of Anrea Moserys are too bug, I wonder if you have thought of a way to join it tighter and perhaps have the point side be a folded accent to them where a shawl pin would be lovely so they aren't sitting in a jewelry box somewhere. Lol I'm enjoying your tutorials and videos on combination knitting. Well, let me go to that video where you talk about the Vs. I'll go there and ask to make my comment make sense. I hope your holiday season is a lovely, lovely, and fun time for you and your family. The shawl that has all the color work and different textures is fabulous. Honestly, it's super beautiful. I started this reply too early. That's awesome, and it may work better than my idea to use your shawl pins.
Gosh, I was admiring the Artus conversion, your colours are wonderful! Maybe knitting off gauge in a woolen spun fingering would be softer & add more drape?
Thank you for this clever way of making a "throw-on" piece. I live in Canada as well and some winter, we do not feel like wearing the same coat... but do not want to buy a new one... This trick could be a clever way to make a beautiful piece to throw on top of a winter coat and kind of having a fresh new look!!! I like your videos, I always learn something!
What a great shawl idea! I never wear my shawls! Maybe with the last shawl that wasn't working, Could you undo the seam and change the stiffer design that you have at the neck to be at the bottom?
Great job! Thanks for your very informative video. I've knit tons of shawls and find that the ones I wear the most are the ones I've been able to stitch together somehow. And thank you for posting some of the names of the shawls and their designers but there were one or two that I wondered about that didn't specify who made them. Do you have a list of them that you could post as well?
I like wearing that type of wrap. I can wear the triangle point in back if I need my arms free or wear it point in front if my arms are cold or point on the side If I'm being sassy, ha ha. Also, for those wanting a more shaped neck, you can add neck ribbing after you join the sides. The styling of these are endless!
Once you lengthen the Artos, and take out the darts, I wonder if it would look nice to gently pleat or gather the end of the "top" stripe before sewing it up, just at the end there, where it attaches. This would encourage the yarn into some soft folds if not naturally draping. Just an idea.
I think shoulder shape affects how you can wear a shawl a lot! I have really broad angular shoulders, so can throw a shawl over and it'll pretty much stay still all day no matter what. If you have narrow shoulders, you won't have as much space, and if you have sloping shoulders, then a shawl is just going to slide off. This is a great fix to keep shawls behaving! And if you have a shawl design where you just want more of the pattern/design to be seen! 😍
I hadn't thought about picking up stitches around the neck edge and adding finishing to alter the width - mostly because I don't like fabric around my neck - but now you've got me thinking...😋🤔
I love knitting shawls, and I'm going to give this a try. I've had yarn for the Nixie shawl by Julie Knits In Paris...I wonder if this wavy pattern would convert 🤔
I think this is a great idea! It reminds me of the beautiful Zulia Poncho from Tonia Lyons (Les Laines Biscottes). Have you been able to estimate the difference of yardage required when you made your shawl conversion experiments?
So far, I haven't encountered an issue with needing to change yardage requirements, but I can certainly envision times where I wouldn't be so lucky! I'd say that if you are intending to work up a wrap that is significantly larger than the original pattern, you'd want to give yourself some extra yardage. That calculation, however, is going to vary from project to project depending on each individual design. Not terribly helpful, I know, but it's a product of this kind of free-range knitting 😋
Yep, my mind is blown! I’m new to your channel and now I’m sold! I do have one question, that is about the quantity of yarn. Are the amounts specified in the original triangular shawl pattern enough for the converted shape? Thanks so much for sharing this!
Oh goodness - I completely forgot to address this question in the video! Yeesh. So far, I haven't had any issues with yarn quantity. The only time you might run into that is when the original shawl is significantly smaller in square inches than the wrapover you intend to make. For instance, I bought several more skeins of the Twistabella when I did the wrapover version of that cowl. And yes, I had to estimate how much I would need, so I erred on the generous side 😊
Why is sliced bread the best thing? Ask the ladies of 1943 USA who objected so strongly to the rationing ban on sliced bread (for repurposing the metal in the machines, and the wax paper) that the ban only lasted 42 days. They'd only just got used to sliced bread over the last decade, and they declared it was a war time necessity. I trust them
Oh, how I wish you would demystify the sweater shawls that are so popular right now, but have so FEW patterns, and most seem to be stole-shaped, hanging WAY off the shoulders in back, or slouching past 'the girs' in front. Why oh why can't there be a pattern with sleeves, that can be worked in the round cuff-up,increasing for the shawl, that would then fit neatly either crossed in front or straight across in front, then picked up in the round for the next sleeve? The few I've seen that look almost as if they fit like this are SEWN, and I started knitting to avoid seaming....helllllllpppppp? PS, you and your pup are adorable, and your tips are right on!
I have a question for you. After watching this video I have been looking at a couple of shawls and imagining them as wear overs. They seem quite drapey though. Do you think that if doing what you suggest if they should be knit at a tighter gauge?
I’ve watched the previous video but I already went from knitting all shapes to selecting rectangles or crescents because when I give them away the recipients don’t seem to know how to wear them so it’s easier to explain the rectangles or crescents. I have previous to your video done your technique here by another pattern, can’t remember what or who. I’m currently knitting an elongated triangle but am thinking of changing it up to make it into a piece that is sewn together.
Hello, Totally looking to converting the night shift shawl into your converted wrap shawl. But I think I'm a little clueless still. Help please! Thank you in advance
Ok ok I watched your older video. Thought it was cool and clever but not for me. I don't wear shawls, I don't make shawls. My style is hoodie and jeans. The fanciest place I go is walmart lol and I have 3 dirty monkey children always hanging on me and getting me filthy. But I have one cowl neck poncho that I do like.i guess I would have to make it utilitarian and suitable for outerwear if I were to do this. 🤔 What are those tied baskets on your shelves? Are they felt???? Did you make them or buy them?
You can absolutely tailor this wrap style to your needs! Keep it simple and use a washable yarn. I bet you can make something perfect for you 😊 Yes - the baskets are synthetic felt. I bought them - I think from Lion Brand website? Unfortunately, they were clearance and I couldn't get more when I went looking 😕
I love this idea. (I watched the first one also.) I never knit shawls for the very reason that they're so awkward. I enjoy all your videos. Glad I found you.
Thanks so much for watching!
Oh my! This is wonderful. Sweaters are too hot for me and cowls and scarves annoy my neck so this solution is just perfect.
Yay!
Beautiful and great idea!
It reminds me a bit of a medieval chaperon-without-cap...
I’m tempted to try this but just putting buttonholes in the final couple of inches of the short side, and putting buttons on the main piece to fasten it to.
Love this video!
Absolutely! I've had that same though myself 😊
This is so cool!! I want to knit shawls but i can’t figure out how to wear them. This could be the answer!!
I'm so excited for you to give it a try! 😄

“I’ve learned a few things” this is the story of the knitter.
Yup 💖
I totally understand the “ I can’t keep a shawl on” story. And I love the coziness of the wrap.

This video has gotten me very excited to create, especially as we settle in for a long Canadian winter.
Yay! I'm so glad this video inspired you 😊
What a fantastic idea. Better than a sweater for around the home. Even a good idea for over the coat in winter. Now to find a pattern I can modify.
Awesome! I'm so glad it sparked some ideas for you.
Yes. I’m a process knitter and planning is my fav part of the project.
@@carblarson8868 Me too!!

I’ve thought about this but now I’m convinced I can do it. Thanks!
Yay!
I really appreciate this post. I as well was not happy with how shawls wouldn't stay on. I frogged two projects to make a wrap after I saw your first post about wraps. I am really happy for this post with more info, as I make my own patterns. You are fun to watch. Thank you. 😊
You're welcome! And I'm so glad you're happy with your new wrapover projects!
@@gretchenchristophel1169 Ah ha! Genius. I'm off to add a crochet wrapover to my queue... 😘
I was just thinking of this concept the other day and also thought of turning such things into ponchos
Thank you so much! I have several shawls and wraps, and they are one of my favorite things to knit. This gives me an option I hadn't considered. I'll definitely do it with some designs. Thanks again!
Yay! So glad you liked it! 😊
Those are beautiful. I love them. You did a terrific modeling job as well! I’m in love with your furbaby. So adorable. ❤❤😂
Thank you! And Oscar says thank you 😃
I love this! One of the reasons I love knitting is that I get to do geometry in 3D. I think I'm going to make the Westknits Stripeometry into a rectangular wrap
Fun!
Love your your podcasts
I too can’t wear shawls, and have given them all away, except my first MKAL (Starting Point by joji Locateli) which I use as my comfy chair cover.
I have lots of shawl patterns I’ve bought, so I can’t wait to make wrap-overs!
Thanks
Hooray! Starting point in next on my list for a wrapover 😀
Great idea 😊❤
I made Nightshift for a friend from a kit and love love love it. I started one for myself using a ton of my stash yarn, using needles that were too small making it too dense.
Resolving to frog it was dead simple once I saw I could convert it to a wrap. And I'll pay better attention to the drapiness of the yarn this time.
I know frogging is painful, but trust me - it will be worth it! 😊
Awesome!!! I'm quite intrigued by his Go Go Dynamo this year and thinking I might convert that one to a wrapover 😋😃
thank you so much❤
I think this sensational too Nicole 🎉🎉🎉 You are genius! I also think this will be flattering to my body shape 😊
Yay! So glad you liked it! 💖
These absolutely astonishing! I love them. ❤
This is a wonderful idea! I'm thinking of replacing the sewing part with buttons. When you have menopause hot flashes, this thing has to come out quickly... 🥵 Also, you can still wear it as the first intended purpose of the design.
Yes! Buttons are definitely a great option. I'll have to try that on one of my upcoming wrapovers 😀
This is a wondrrful idea, similar to a poncho but much nicer.
I hope it works out! I love the look of crescent shawls, but in practice I find them unwieldy 😋
If not, you can frog it and start over or give it to someone who would love it 😊
That's a very valid reason to start with a new strand. I guess it's just habit for me, but certainly one I can change! 😊
Really cute.
Great idea! Also have a look at the Rickroll wrap by Mary Anarella….
I'll check that out!
I also can’t do shawls because of how ‘fussy’ I find them. I LOVE this idea!
Yay!
Great shout-out for Wendy in New York. She really is awesome 😊
She absolutely is! 💖💖💖
Thank you. 💜
FABULOUS Podcast ❤
Thank you, my friend 💖
Great idea! I'm going to forward this to a few friends who love to knit shawls but never wear them. So thank you for sharing! Why are you foggy? I thought it was my glasses. Also, sliced bread gave us sandwiches. You can't make a sandwich with broken bread!
Am I foggy? Didn't seem like it at my end. I'll look into that 😋
brilliant
Lol
I'm enjoying your tutorials and videos on combination knitting.
Ha ha! I love your stream-of-consciousness comment 💖😊
Gosh, I was admiring the Artus conversion, your colours are wonderful! Maybe knitting off gauge in a woolen spun fingering would be softer & add more drape?
I think that's a really great idea!
Definitely! I have worn my Nightshift wrapover over top a coat or jacket. It's sooooo snuggly and jazzes up a boring coat 😋
Kind of a loose caplet poncho concept 😊
Exactly! 😊
If you check the notes in the description box, they should all be there. If there's one I missed, please let me know! 😊
You’re right, they are so versatile! I love seeing how people make them their own!
Once you lengthen the Artos, and take out the darts, I wonder if it would look nice to gently pleat or gather the end of the "top" stripe before sewing it up, just at the end there, where it attaches. This would encourage the yarn into some soft folds if not naturally draping. Just an idea.
That's a great idea - I did try pleating it, but not at that spot. I think that would work much better - thank you! 😃
Great thoughts about shoulder shapes! 😊
With your Natasha shawl, could you apply a knitted rib neckline and bring it in that way? Loved the video, very informative xo
I hadn't thought about picking up stitches around the neck edge and adding finishing to alter the width - mostly because I don't like fabric around my neck - but now you've got me thinking...😋🤔
Love this! How about you try to sew the top edge like the Bianca. Just a new variation of a rectangle shawl. I have been doing both.
That's a great idea! I'm going to have to try it. 😊
@@KnicoleknitsI think that might work for the Artus. Just a thought.
P.S. I am in Ontario.
@@ireneblais9077 Hi in Ontario! Always happy to meet my Canadian viewers 😃
I love knitting shawls, and I'm going to give this a try. I've had yarn for the Nixie shawl by Julie Knits In Paris...I wonder if this wavy pattern would convert 🤔
I haven't done a wavy edge one (yet), but I'm pretty sure it would work as long as only ONE edge is wavy and the others are straight 😊
That last one could be made into a mock neck or turtle neck.
@
Thx so much for your helpful reply!
I trust them
Fascinating! I'm on side 😀
I'm very intrigued by this...can you tell me which patterns you've seen that come close to your vision, but are sewn instead of seamless?
I'm short with narrow shoulders so this will be perfect for me. Are you knitting this on circular needles as straight needles wouldn't be long enough
Yes. I knit everything on circular needles. I just find them more manageable than straights for all but the smallest flat-knit projects 😊
I have a question for you. After watching this video I have been looking at a couple of shawls and imagining them as wear overs. They seem quite drapey though. Do you think that if doing what you suggest if they should be knit at a tighter gauge?
Actually, drapey is what you want! If they are too stiff, they don't sit well around the shoulders. Ask me how I know 😉😂
I’ve watched the previous video but I already went from knitting all shapes to selecting rectangles or crescents because when I give them away the recipients don’t seem to know how to wear them so it’s easier to explain the rectangles or crescents. I have previous to your video done your technique here by another pattern, can’t remember what or who. I’m currently knitting an elongated triangle but am thinking of changing it up to make it into a piece that is sewn together.
I loved your fashion show. You missed your calling.
Aw, shucks! 💖
Hello,
Totally looking to converting the night shift shawl into your converted wrap shawl. But I think I'm a little clueless still. Help please! Thank you in advance
I've got your back! Go check out my blog post tutorial:
www.knicoleknits.com/2021/10/
If you still have questions, feel free to email me 😊
Ok
Can I just make/follow a shawl pattern that I like into a rectangle then do your magic??
Yup. That's exactly how it works 😊
What are those tied baskets on your shelves? Are they felt???? Did you make them or buy them?
You can absolutely tailor this wrap style to your needs! Keep it simple and use a washable yarn. I bet you can make something perfect for you 😊 Yes - the baskets are synthetic felt. I bought them - I think from Lion Brand website? Unfortunately, they were clearance and I couldn't get more when I went looking 😕
@Knicoleknits I am thinking of ways I could make some similar
would 100% alpaca yarn have enough drape?
Alpaca is perfect for this style! It has very little stretch and tends to be super drapey. You've given me some ideas...😋
