    As January rolls around again, the ECML diverts follow. Diverting through Cambridge on the weekends of January. In this video we are at multiple crossings, starting at Waterbeach and working our way down to Bottisham Road crossing.
    Something quite unusual about the Grand Central trains, was they where scheduled to stop at Cambridge, there was announcements and they were being displayed on the board as stopping at platform TL, something Iv not seen before.
    This video was filmed on the iPhone XR in 1080p60fps.

    Why are the 800s not using their pantographs?

      Honestly, I’m not 100% sure, I think it’s so they don’t have to stop at Ely and change power so staying on diesel they can keep going. I would of thought they could stay on electricity from the ECML, I wouldn’t of thought the voltage would have been different because the trains from Cambridge to King’s Cross run on the fast line on the ECML and there fine.
