Seeing ECML trains at Cambridge is so surreal
Very good video. Nice variety with the diverted services alongside the usual traffic. :)
Thanks very much :)
I really wished that LNER would do services through cambridge.
Beautiful video as ENGLAND has always been beautiful and i love ENGLAND trains
It would be interesting to know why the LNER and Hulltrains Hitachi bi-mode units weren't using electric power through their pantographs as the diverted route is electrified all the way up to Ely then diesel to Peterborough
love your videos, keep it up!
Extraordinary Video! Amazes me how a 4 car class 755 is shorter than a 3 car class 170 at 7:51
Thanks, that's the one slight disadvantage of trains with articulated bogies, the carriages are shorter as a whole. Its a similar case between a 373 and a 374.
@@CHOO-CHOOPlane you're very welcome, I completely agree! Thank you for the good insight :)
@@CHOO-CHOOPlane I filmed a few Trains at Broughty Ferry today if you want to check it out on my Channel :)
Platform 6 (with the 755 in) is longer than platform 5 (with the 170). It looks like it's shorter but it probably isn't because platform 6 continues for about 20-30m further
Great 👍🏻 video and cool 😎 class 800
Thanks very much
Well that day certainly brought some variety! I do recall one time going through on a diverted HST service.
Strange how all the bi-mode units were still running on diesel even on the electrified sections....would have though they would pan up once under the wires at Ely.
The new GA units remind me a bit of the old APT-P in their appearance and mechanical layout.
The 80X trains use too much power from the wires on this route, so to avoid power cuts they remain on diesel. It's a bit similar to the 373 issue on the Hertford Loop, expect they didn't have a diesel back up.
@@CHOO-CHOOPlane Same as on the SWML section from Poole to Weymouth where they can only use single Class 444s.
i also notice we both have class 373s as our image! :)
The 379s and 387s looked like hammered s---. What happened?
2:00 driver wanted some extra ventilation?
probably.
Anyone know why the class 800s don't use the overhead electric supply?
They use too much power off of the Main Line in these areas, so to avoid power cuts they do the diverts on diesel.
is the class 91 gonna be replaced soon?
I think they are keeping some until 2024
scr lover 444 I think they are keeping about 10 until 2023!
