Seemed a bit excessive lowering it so early, presumably just to bring the northbound train in, especially as it was going so slowly anyway. Always interesting to see the Caledonian Sleeper, and just a relief it didn't take TOO long to show up. Nice catch of the Levenmouth Link livery in the lowering prior, and 12:37 that semaphore looked like it was about to just fly off!

There are actually three different types of pelican crossing in the UK now: * Traditional (future installations banned October 2016) - with the flashing green man and amber signal. * PedEX - with the blackout period. * PCaTS (safest out of all, commonly found in London) - with the countdown indicator.

This crossing layout has always baffled me. I know its technically an AOCL+B but if your car was to be on the crossing whist the barriers were coming down, you would get stranded

I'd been looking forward to seeing this video, and it's absolutely fantastic! I love the filler shots and station tour, and the dual-camera shot too. It's a really pretty station, britain's 10th least-used I believe.

That crossing is very well lit at night! I do like this one a lot, especially with the 80's Smiths barriers and those alarms - I thought the former had been renewed when I saw the new surface. My guess is either the signaller was inexperienced and lowered it in error for a Highland Mainline train, or wanted you off the crossing in that clip, lol
