@@CP110 lol- it has happened to some. I personally know several guys who run SBF with well over 600hp and have never split an engine. One guy rev's his SBF to over 9K. Chevie guy's like to spread rumor like this happens all the time. Go to an NMRA event and see for yourself.
Finally using a good engine. I built close to the same engine and installed it in my 62 Falcon. Top loader, 3 55 posi. Offenhuser 360 tunnel ram. Duel 600 cfm. Holleys tunnel ram carburetors. My daily driver.

I'm thinking 540ci, street O-port tunnel ram w/dual 550 EFI bodies and CC magnum 244* roller;1.8 rockers. Ported 300cc AFR ovals. For a modern twist on FI meld with hot rodding.... And the inj.are mounted into the lg. square ports of the ram and shooting into the runners, for better flow. And show the true #s of head and intake flow...And 10.5:1 on E85 for an iron block daily driver in the desert.
On Season 6 Episode 8 this engine made more power with the Trick Flow single 4bbl intake they took off! 617.6hp vs 602hp and 537.2 tq vs. 519tq with the Holley and dual carbs. They didn't tune and re-jet the dual carbs though. It's funny they don't mention that they made less power!

Link bar lifter setup is vastly superior in strength vs the stock style lifter with the spider/dog bone hold down setup. Never ever seen a solid roller setup with a factory hold down style. Always link bar.

Crank, bore, pistons, and rods. You need relief cuts and a cam to make advantage of the upgrades. A 408 efi with a good tune and maybe boost would be a true monster and capable of good rpm bandwidth

Yeah they made more with the setup they took off than with the Holley and dual quads.
I'd like to see the entire grapht hough, it shows 450 at 4500 rpms, but what is it at 2-3k? How much time do you spend above 4500?

Yes but it requires the correct crank for the engine a Windsor has a different crankshaft than a Cleveland but both can be 408
Modified uses a Cleveland block and crank Windsor's are Windsor's from 60s to 96 same engine
