So much power without a turbo lol. I love fords
www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
So much power? I'd be really upset if I spent the money to build this and only ended up with 600hp
@@SpaceMoviePopcorn I was very disappointed by that, I have a friend with a single carb 408 that makes way more than that, heck that car runs low 9s all day long at the track without nitrous, 27 Essex, would sure be nice if power Nation would give Ford the time of day, they just don't because they don't want to see their GMs and Mopars get blown out of the water by a Ford
@@SpaceMoviePopcorn They didn't even jet/tune the carbs yet. Who knows what kind of power it really makes. It's also a stock block.
Glad to see you guys giving ford engines the respect they deserve, especially the windsors. I like the 302s but 351 based small block fords need love also.
@Lars What did you end up putting that motor into?
You do know that a 351 Windsor is just a 289 series with a taller deck, right?
@@Larcona_ Yes I'm quite aware of that, thanks.
@@Larcona_ almost, for some reason 289s and 302s split in half. 351s have more material that really help when pushing numbers above 550ish
@@CP110 lol- it has happened to some. I personally know several guys who run SBF with well over 600hp and have never split an engine. One guy rev's his SBF to over 9K. Chevie guy's like to spread rumor like this happens all the time. Go to an NMRA event and see for yourself.
Finally using a good engine. I built close to the same engine and installed it in my 62 Falcon.
Top loader, 3 55 posi. Offenhuser 360 tunnel ram. Duel 600 cfm. Holleys tunnel ram carburetors.
My daily driver.
Pictures, please!
Hoosiers here! Die heart fun of the show for 15 years!! Keep it up! Always great to learn and hear wise men tell tricks of the trade.
Well check this out....
Somebody figured out what can be accomplished with a Windsor!
Built up a 351W 30 years ago for my boat... World Windsor Sr. heads, KB pistons, Crane cam, Eddy Victor Jr. intake...
where were you the last 25 years? sleeping?
Thanks for still being free
www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
Thank you guys for the SB ford builds. look forward to more of them. Keep it up.
Great video. I had a uncle in Houston TX who called his white 67 ford the grey mare. That thing ran forever it seems. Great memories!
Love to see these shows. Ford has always but a stout engine. Since showing these shows to many of my Bud's. To date 4 have dumped their bowties and gone to the Blue Oval. And they are smiles from ear to ear. Why? The power has blown them away. And at least 2 of them has said the durability has convinced them to stay with Ford.
Always interesting stuff on this show!
Awesome guys thank you 👍🇺🇸
I built a drowsy little car with a 351in the 80’s. 79 Fairmont Futuria. Blue with white vinyl half top and wire spoke hubcaps. Took a lot of rich kids IROC money.
Clean Test guys.😀
Nice....always loved my trickflow hi ports. God they make nice power!!
As soon as I seen you guys were building a Ford motor I’m all Lynn it seems like you very seldom do that I would really like to see you guys build the new 7.3 L Godzilla put a supercharger on that bad boy
How about testing the Godzilla 7.3 in that chassis?
Someone has already put it in a fox body. Will be a few years before it starts to receive any aftermarket support for parts
@@jeanvi52 yes, I've been following that build too! I just want to see it gain popularity.
You and I both brother
Any links to that build
Amadeo Heron look up REVen on RUclips.
Y’all rock 🤘🤙
Project Farm tested those Hotshots stuff.
There was no improvement that he could quantify.
PF is one of the very best channels in the world. He basically proves most magic juice is Bull Sh@t.. but he says it in a nice way :)
Man I love his channel...my guilty pleasure he is just damn thorough
I would love to see a set of Cleveland heads on that short block with the Holley hi-ram or ITB
Wow! Amazing! Ford all the way!!
Or www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
Great episode
You guys have to much fun.
Damn, I would love to drop that Windsor in my fox body mustang
94-95😁
Id put it in my foxbody in a heartbeat
@@brysonshires9742 miss my 95 Cobra. That car was a pussy magnet
I've run the tunnel rams for over 20 years.. Many of my customers run them now.. Just a lot of power if you know how to tune
I love the right stuff grey.
Just waiting the weber carburators test, old school itbs
weber don't sponsor the show ....
@@alt7488 Weber carbs are WAY out of my budget.
I always wanted to put a 351 hi po in a 1963 falcon sprint
we need a car industry like that in Australia I love the power nation channel I learn so much about whats going on in the industry
@Craig I didnt know that happened I think its time to do something about this place before it becomes a shit hole (more than it already is). Not having a go at the Americans but if they can do it Im sure as hell Australians can do it. As a Jap car guy I know thats half the problem Australia was producing some good cars we just need to make shit happen. I am more than willing to give some shit a go Im sure Im smart to but there a lot of things I need to learn to and I sure as hell know Im not going to learn it in Australia And now that we are going to importing more American cars we are going to have to follow suit or import every thing and i like to some Australian money here in Australia.
Sbf makes power easier than sbc. Engine masters proved it
original 5.0 in Foxbodies proved that from 1985 to 1993. tons of aftermarket came and went.
Cool, another episode of, "race car on a budget!" 😜
The Spice Melange it is on a budget, I just wish it was my budget.
Anyone can do this 😂
Something you can order and put together yourself
I have 2 AWESOME (well, at least to me!) engine build suggestions for your rolling testbed; Cadillac 500 and Indian Adventures block-based max displacement Pontiac!
that was literally the most gasket maker I've ever seen applied!
Just on the china walls...
I like how they just dump the prelube all over the timing cover.....ugh
On Season 6 Episode 8 this engine made more power with the Trick Flow single 4bbl intake they took off! 617.6hp vs 602hp and 537.2 tq vs. 519tq with the Holley and dual carbs. They didn't tune and re-jet the dual carbs though. It's funny they don't mention that they made less power!
Best channel on YT as of late.
351w bishes 💪🏾
8:11 That's one angry engine. You can hear it when it loads up on the dyno.
3:53 Dope! "Ya messed that bead up, start over, ya know I never seen ya have such carelessness when you was laying sealin stuff on dem Chevy's! Makes me question yet mechanical abilities...." This is one of the many fun things my dad says while we're in the garage wrenching..... He's a die hard Ford man, but he says he's not... But the driveway and garage is nothing but Ford, one Chevy project.
I've always thought tunnel rams were "too much" but they make perfect sense. They remove the advantages efi intake might have in a consistent cylinder to cylinder AF distribution. Torque curve increases across the board in comparison to a single plane intake.
I noticed Roadkill wasn't invited back to PRI :)
I'm thinking 540ci, street O-port tunnel ram w/dual 550 EFI bodies and CC magnum 244* roller;1.8 rockers. Ported 300cc AFR ovals. For a modern twist on FI meld with hot rodding.... And the inj.are mounted into the lg. square ports of the ram and shooting into the runners, for better flow. And show the true #s of head and intake flow...And 10.5:1 on E85 for an iron block daily driver in the desert.
Sidetracked we got, can we expect a follow up on the engine in the car?
Love the shot of lubing the distributor gear while pouring assembly lube all over the front cover of the motor. Nice clean work!
Who cares
Saw that!
I remember my step dads 68 duster with a 440. With a single plane he ran mid 11s. When he put the dual plane on, it ran 10:23. I don't understand why people don't run the dual more often
Same reason people still over cam their engines. They assume bigger is always better.
Still popular: www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
I love how Leroy and vettkart has a bigger family
Just goes to show, with an unlimited budget, anything's possible.
I nearly switched this off in disgust as I thought they said Tesla....fortunately I quickly realized they said test sled lol
@Maybe, maybe not. lolol
Same here
It would be nice to see the numbers from multiple pulls next to each other along with percent difference. The RPM mark where the engine makes 80% of its peak torque and horsepower along with the range that it holds that, would be cool too.
408 are awesome
You guys should do another ford 2.3 lima build. I gotta give it to you I didnt think it was possible to get 260 from one with no turbo
Local guy used to race them N/A in a tunnel hull speedboat.
Excellent fist pound, gentleman.
Sweet Sbf
It would be very informative to put both a throttle-body injection system on it, and a sequential-injection as well, to see the potential of each system.
Would make more with front facing throttle body hat
Very respectable number form that
Yes: www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
I know that this would literally be destroying money, but..... I would love to see a engine build comparison where you guys torque bolts by feel rather than to spec, and with/without break in lubricant. I'm curious to see just how important all of these steps are to building a reliable motor.
Henry Hancock you wanna see a destroyed engine ? Lol they are very important man
Been building engines for 50 years... no torque wrench...
How about a Big inch Kasse Boss 9 next ?
What about dual throttle body fuel injection????
I think it would be cool to give details like air/fuel ratio on the dyno, get us more involved in the test and tune
Fords got the music
Yup, that engine was seriously pissed off.
You could make that into a Cross Boss 302 intake.I wonder if there is a Autolite 875 carb out there
Think you forgot the o-ring on the distributor.
Try a Barra in the test sled! I have one..
I need to see a conversation from a generator to alternator you have on
When are you going to build an Australian Barra DOHC straight 6?
Pointless, can’t throw it in anything and no one here can either.
Cool motor, but as worthless as a European diesel
Cletus's sister sled
So bad ass.
This distributor has a crank and cam sensor... we put an MSD crank trigger on it... because advertising bullshit.
“… Any of you (with very deep pockets!) can purchase…”
Why didn't you optimize the jetting on the carberater for best performance on the 408?
Wondering how it would have performed with two 650's on it since Fords usually don't like a lot of fuel.
That poor guys last name is Massengill LOL
I understand when your in the shop. but do you really need your pocket protector and your measuring tape at a trade show lol...
I hope you said hello to Monza at PRI
I would love to throw that Windsor in a first gen lightning.
I'm so close to buying an early 90s short bed and making my own lightning. Been a dream for a while
TheBaddestOgre - i bought a 94 lightning with 80k miles for 3 grand
Oliver Harwood
Sisters boyfriend just did the same though it has un tasteful mods and a knock.
That sounds like a really good build not bad
Not going to port match the Holley high ram to the heads?
Chassis reminds me of a Classic Chevy Cobra
Those easy packs need to take off with other manufacturers as well. They will recycle so much easier and use less material to manufacture.
What do you guys do with the engines you test an no longer use?
Ford Windsor 5 4 block, and used 4.6 32values heads?
I bet your camera crew loves filming from that chassis.
@9:34 what headers are those? they look too short.. also anyone else notice that head swapped to 225 cc head and the tunnel ram ? Why not the 215 cc?
You guy need to build some engine and give them away
A Democrat heard from...
Nice
Also nice: www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
Some one tell me. How do you get tags to drive an aluminum tube chassis on the street?
Something about a ford !!
And Chevy: www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
i was crossing finger this was about the modular 2v ... then i heard high hp was like nope thats not 2v
What does it mean when you stroke an engine...does it mean you make the piston rods shorter or longer if that is the case then what is better a longer stroke or a shorter stroke ....and what is a gasser??why is it called that ??
What kind of HP will this duel throttle body set up make on a 427 stroked 351 ??? Because Cubic inches matter. We all want to know.
I wish crate engines in Australia didn’t cost ten grand plus.
Hi have you already made a strong engine with Vauxhall?
Wonder what that gasket maker does when the excess mixes with the oil???
Just sits there...
Did they place the fan in front of the rad?
I'd like to see the entire grapht hough, it shows 450 at 4500 rpms, but what is it at 2-3k? How much time do you spend above 4500?
do you guys have any toilet paper?
Closed captioning= now it's Ford's time to shine....(Ford revs- caption reads-) _music...._ yes it is.
Skeletor would have been a better name! Such a missed opportunity!
Why wouldn’t you do chev 427 to ford 427 sbf turbo set up ?
Looks like Cletus McFarlands ride
Where could you learn how to build a small block ford and basically learn from the ground up? With like a trans into it etc
Do a search for: Building first engine
www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rfhrk
Or..... you could build a 557/460 that makes 700 ft/lbs @ 3000 & 670 hp @ 6500 for 5 grand less.
Hello "Ford Big Block Brother". I thought I was the only one left. Glad to know others are still out there. I love the 385 series, especially in a big tire mud slinger
I miss seeing events like pri... and people in public not wearing shame diapers on their faces... I finally found the "back in my day" I'll tell my kids/grandkids...
