    Thanks for the clarity on this, Martin. I suppose another distinction would be those subjects closely allied to optometry/ophthalmology which also contain research relevant to those disciplines. i.e. pharmacology, biochemists. For example, the background of the researchers on the Vitrocap study and research into AMD tends to be biochemistry/food science. Nevertheless it's all related. Optometry/ophthalmology is fascinating as it brings together so many subjects, particularly neurophysiology...which then gets you onto important philosophical questions about how much is added and filled in to visual experience in processing raw visual data. An endless subject.

      Thanks for the comment Daryl. I particularly enjoyed studying the physiology of vision and perception. You’re right, that whole area is so fascinating. I’d love to highlight some of my favourite eye/brain phenomena at some point in the future.
