I love the feeling of existential dread and horror the creature evokes. There’s no inherent blood or gore to tell you that it’s dangerous, but you get the sense that if you were to ever meet it, you _will_ die. That kind of design in a character is mind blowing. The music certainly helps obviously, but it you watch it silently it makes it a _lot_ more eerie.
It's really peek character design. The dark eyes, vague dog shape, sharp edges everywhere, the stripes on the neck making it appear segmented, and them teef! Chefs kiss
This made me think up a weird character: A creature made out of the bodies of multiple decaying animals, humans trying to make life. Opossum/Possum's legs, usually too weak to stand on with it's body composed of animals much larger in size, so it's constantly dragging itself towards you. The torso of a wolf, with the chest up of a large cat, probably a bob cat. Eyes long sunken in, but can somehow see you without them, sense you without them. It will always find you. The back end of a stray dog, you can still see the matted fur and burn marks of it living off the streets. It's tail long missing, the only remanent of it ever being there is the bone left behind of an unknown animal. Hell, it might not even be a tail bone at all, just something left behind, constantly stuck, constantly paining. It can't die, it's already "dead", it can't eat, it's so decomposed that it just rejects anything fed to it, usually spat up with blood, rot, and occasionally an organ too. It is in a never ending cycle of suffering, although it doesn't know any higher cognitive thought to even know why it's in pain, what paining it, and after a while, what pain even is. *It's entire life is suffering, and it wants you to suffer too.* *After all, we all want company sometimes.*
I don't get creeped out or scared easily, but something abt the ending and how the human eyes were on the dog/wolf's(?) face and then the sound increased volume that made me feel a little uneasy. So that was pretty cool :>

I like to think about this character as a "soul" of a dog, who was abandoned by his owner in forest. Now he walks through it, desperately crying (howling) because he can't find him
I remember seeing a horror prompt that was "A family dog runs away from home. He returns a year later to the delight of his family. But there's something different about him..."
It’s like, he has rabies. 0:11 but worse. It’s like something ate his brain, caused defects, rotted his eyes, and basically turned him into a walking rabid zombie dog.
This animation made me think up of my own Halloween character :o A white horse in the woods who is always looking for something; or someone. People say that it's story is that it once worked for a very nice owner, but got run over by another horse driver when they were driving by the forest. It has muddy eyes from the fact it was slightly raining when the accident happened. You can see its ribs, because that's.. well, what showed in the accident.. Every time it sees a person, it runs towards it, only seeing their owner in the person, even if it looks exactly the opposite. It always worries for their owner, since it never got to know if they were okay. If the person dodges, the horse dissappears, and on their way out of the forest, _something is always watching them, and they always have a small stomach cramp._ Once they get out of the forest and atleast 10 feet away from the forest, it all goes away. If the person is touched by it one small bit, they find themselves at the spot where it happened. Thankfully, the horse is not in pain, and occasionally its owner comes to see it from heaven. Sadly, the horse was blocked off from heaven for no reason, it was an error.
That moment when you make a scary animation that's intentionally supposed to scare people but everyone just keeps calling it cute and kawaii Edit: The only reason I commented this is because as an artist myself, when I attempt to make things scary on purpose and put lots of effort into doing so, its frustrating to see people play it off as cute. The artist clearly wanted to go for a horror aspect, yet people are viewing it as something cute and sweet. "so cute :3c" won't help the artist grow, it only downplays the artists ability to make something in the horror genre.
My cat is more terrifying then this wolf in the video, she killed so many grass snakes I can't remember the last time I saw one, she also plays with the entrails of baby rabbits, we don't own her, SHE OWNS US.
Cat's can be more dangerous, Due to there flexibility and stealth. They can unleashed claws whenever they want and can aim at the most sensitive body parts. Such as face or neck. Even *Down there* For dogs, yes there strong and have a good king of smell. And are really fierce and can shred you to parts and itty bitty pieces. They can aim at Face Throat Legs Arms Shoulders And even your skull And if they pin you down. You are done for. They can possibly even _aim_ at your stomach or sides. *and for small dogs.* *little but deadly*
Arieson oh no i had a house cat once. we let him outside to go to the bathroom. he was taking a little longer than usual but we just thought he was finding a pinecone or what not. turns out, he climbed the fence of our neighbors and killed the daughter of our neighbors. we had to get rid of him, so we put him up for adoption. who knows what happened to him to this day.
Man the way the expression at 0:09 goes from calm, unerving yet seemingly innocent, to LUNGING at the viewer is amazingly horrific. I love the no visible expression, this thing isnt angry, sad nor particularly happy its just a vessel for violence- body horror with animals is so interesting and lovely when done well, taking something usually not a threat, friendly and trustable in the case of dogs and twisting it just enough to make you uncomfortable, its not overly gory or scary but its wrong. Its limbs and sunken eyes and its massive teeth, my favorite part is its neck,, constantly craning outward in unusual and uncanny ways, not possible for a living animal and far too long for a normal dog, covered in what looks like scars strangling its neck, from what could be string or surgery marks but it also matches the fur patterning!!! It looks similar to a hyena and you can tell it's a predator: not killing to eat but killing to kill. the animation is fucking beautiful.

i remember a few years ago that there was so many comments that said "i'd still pet them" or "cute doggo!!" that eventually the other people lashed out and essentially it turned into an argument because whenever someone says that theres no real way to tell between your art actually having horror aspects so i think most got deleted
