Your one minute really matters!!! I am an admirer of Balen Shah. I believe he has truly come to advance a cause- cause that does good to all Nepali from east to West and north to South. And, his cause is indeed a noble one. In fact, I am one of the defenders of the cause that he shares and advances. I will be there for him. But, this doesn't mean we have to be radically critical towards someone who entertain totally different vision than we: Balen and the group do. Mukunda Rijal had been a little forceful in his approach towards Balen. He could have said the same thing in a different way. But, he didn't. It's okay to have a different viewpoint. And, we have a freedom of choices. He made his choice- that is to approach forcefully and in a way that invited a massive backlash. However, Balen chose to remain humble to the person who once tried to undermine his presence. The way we are being rude to Mukunda Rijal for his deed shows we too are not much different than who we claim ourselves to be different from. We should have been more tolerant than what we had been. Instead of reacting instantly, we should have taken our time, seen the event from as much side as possible and tried to figure out what is in there for us to learn. Is there anything valuable that we are missing in his approach? Or are we dismissing someone's valuable statement that is worth listening? Mr. Rijal acted that way because the spokesperson (don't know his name but he was sitting next to Balen) brought in the narrative of party. When the spokesperson gave a statement indicating a party's name, Mr. Rijal immediately reacted. His objection was meant for the spokesperson rather than Balen. Eventually Balen handled the situation as the situation went out of control. Let's be clear in our intention as Balen is. Let's be crystal clear both in our end goals and process goals that are to be achieved. Let's listen to everyone either an idea or a criticism. Even if they express ideas or visions contrasting to ours we should see if something meaningful is being said or done. When we see things with a real intent of understanding what exactly is being talked about it opens up for us a door to self-examination. Isn't this an extraordinary work as this somehow helps us improve if necessary? Let's be humble like Balen. Balen didn't take Mr. Rijal as an annoyance. In fact, with an ounce of humility in his character, he visited Mr. Rijal himself. Balen went to Rijal's house, had interaction, made Rijal feel comfortable in his own house, allowed Mr. Rijal to feel as an important figure for a right politics in the town. And these are the marks of a true leader. This is the person who passionately wants to contribute something sustainable for the country and the people living within it. So, let's not criticize each other for the differences we have. Instead, let's find a way that helps all of us come and stand on the same platform under the same banner which is unexplored yet full of positive surprises for who dares to explore. Let's march ahead keeping aside differences and focusing on similarities that we have between us. Let's be tolerant of each other.
