I haven't been there in over 20 years but was watching the streets and knew where they were at most of the time. They were within a couple blocks of where I used to live at one point. Weird, I was looking at the widened roads and new stores in a lot of the video. Reminiscing.

They also remind drivers to slow down and move to the right when there is a pursuit. I am going to sit with my teenagers and watch the videos so they understand what to do in situations. I am From a time when Door Locks were your responsibility. I remember my dad alway saying make sure you door is lock. My family owned a 1952 Ford. When we were younger he made sure all the doors were locked.
Car chases don't normally go down like they do in the movies, police usually hang back until they have all their units coordinated with each other. Immediately trying to run the guy down with only one or two cop cars only puts citizens in further danger from the criminal
Problem is public safety as criminals can be very squirrelly when it comes to being cornered. So they have to be careful not to cause a more serious incident than they already are and given the speeds he was going, if they tried to pit manuver him or something of the sort could of caused a more serious accident. Not to mention giving chase at high speeds is dangerous as the criminal could wreck into someone easily and kill them or themselves in the process of trying to get away.

This did not have a successful conclusion. This was a shameful demonstration of police inaction. This required definitive action EARLY. There could have been 12 bodies from all his actions. Even as he was allowed to run at the end, he could have grabbed another car and wrong way picked off 10 more lives. This is REPEATED failures of inaction which just begged for bodies to be strewn across the landscape. Serve and protect? What a shameful failure of that. I hope people learned from this. And not that it successfully ended.

They also remind drivers to slow down and move to the right when there is a pursuit. I am going to sit with my teenagers and watch the videos so they understand what to do in situations. Car chases don't normally go down like they do in the movies, police usually hang back until they have all their units coordinated with each other. Immediately trying to run the guy down with only one or two cop cars only puts citizens in further danger from the criminal
Problem is public safety as criminals can be very squirrelly when it comes to being cornered. So they have to be careful not to cause a more serious incident than they already are and given the speeds he was going, if they tried to pit manuver him or something of the sort could of caused a more serious accident. Not to mention giving chase at high speeds is dangerous as the criminal could wreck into someone easily and kill them or themselves in the process of trying to get away.
Bravo the police, you have a dangerous job and you deserve our respect. As for these dangerous fools who think they are all powerful at the wheel of a vehicle, we must not give them the slightest chance of getting out.
