The first time I went driving in Tassie I was with the kids and they were rather amazed at just how much breathtaking scenery was flying past their car window. I used to tell them that the reason the Nullabor plain was so flat was that God had scraped off half of Western Australia's scenery, scrunched it up, and dropped it on Tasmania.
I am stunned, even by the guesture of taking the time to do this, thank you, it will allow me to get about 80miles on my Himalayan to explore more and I am sure I can find a lot in 80miles 😁.
Hey Joe, Huge fan of leisure adventure riding from India. Binged Watched all your videos. Very raw and honest. Love and Respect brother. Godspeed ❤️🇮🇳🇦🇺
first bath in a week. what a real guy. ride till you die... then swim in a lake to wash off the smell... aahg who cares.. no one to impress. as long as the bike keeps going, tomorrow is another day.
Be honest mate, you went back to the boat ramp to get your shoes😂. I did Tassie last year but missed the west coast because of the constant rain. You got me thinking about going back next year. What time of the year did you go?.
@@freewayproject Hahaha, pink suits you mate😂. You were lucky with the weather on the west coast. We went in December and had sleet at Miena. Tassie has it all. I just finished the whole series and thoroughly enjoyed it👍.
Yes weather can be hit and miss. I am currently on the next long adventure, and have had issue with water already. Will be able to upload the first episode tomorrow.
Have just found your channel. Been binge watching for hours. Love your work. Great commentary and video production. You deserve a lot more subs your videos are excellent.
Loving this. Used to live in Tassie myself for a few years but had to move back to SA for work reasons (and family). Hoping to move back ASAP. One of my goals is to be well off enough to afford a Porsche 911 and do that drive from Hobart to Queenstown/Strahan, especially around Derwent Bridge and Lake Burbury etc. such a great stretch of the Lyell Highwau
What a cool little island. Tree's are different form what we have in Canada. As you know. The little guy was very photogenic 😂. I too love.a curvy road or trail but man those trails were sick. Thanks for another great ride.
It's great to hear you are enjoying the first Australia series Mark, there are a couple more series traveling around Australia, also I just finish a series around New Zealand and on Friday the new series starts which also has a few high mountains if you are interested.
Loving this series, very glad you’ve got a few more series to follow! Envious you have the time and capacity to undertake such an awesome adventure, and thanks immensely for producing quality product taking us along - better than Netflix that’s for sure!
I can’t get enough of your channel! What an amazing adventure. Such vast changing landscapes and rich history! TAS has interested me for many years and this video definitely reveals why. Can’t wait to plan a ride over there. Those MTB tracks looked gnarly. Thank you for sharing your amazing adventures and incredible photography with us 👌
Thanks Michael, glad you are enjoying the series. Tasmania is definitely worth exploring, I miss a lot of amazing places as well, so there is so much more there.
The roads and terrain remind me of the mountains in Oaxaca, Mexico, lots of exposed rock, and plenty of curves to keep you entertained. Our Himalayans were made for this sort of riding, such a joy to ride! Oh, and ya, those mining buckets do seem similar to the ones in the movie Temple of Doom.
@@freewayproject yes, Mexico is, I'm in the state of Queretaro right now, it's winter here, and not all that warm. I may track south into the Yucatan where it's a bit warmer. Mexico has a varied terrain, mountains, deserts, jungle, etc.
Just found your Chanel and loving the rides through Tassie, im heading there in Dec all going to plan. can I ask what tent you are using, looks nice and compact? Thanks heaps, love the content.
Thanks mate, glad you like it. The tent is a big agnes tiger wall ul2. they now have a new version with a side entry which I think would be better, it would make it way easier to move around in the tent and getting in and out. It is a thru hiking tent (multiple days hiking from one spot to another), so it is super light.
Great, you are going places I've never been. Fire drives a lot of the differences in forest type. Regular fire results in button grass plain no fire for 400 plus year results in rainforest. Are you heading up to the north east?
Oh that is interesting about how first effect the way the forest currently are. I have been through the north east, I am a bit ahead of the video uploads as it take me a while to edit each video, believe me I wish I could edit faster 😂.
Hi Joe, I have never seen inland Tasmania and had no idea how beautiful it is. Thank you for taking us there is such excellent fashion!. LOVE the REH! Have one myself 😉
These videos have been immensely inspirational to myself as someone who is just about finishing uni and looking to start adventuring! They're like an oasis of fresh information in the breaks between work sessions. I'm looking at the himalayan myself, but I reckon it'll be at least a couple of years before I can even think about affording it. Rock on dude!
Glad you are enjoying the series mate, and it will be one of the best things you do if you get out and explore, if that's on a motorbike, push bike, backpacking by foot, it's worth the effort, you'll learn and experience so much more than you could imagine and you never know where it may lead you. Don't right off getting a Himalayan until way further into the future, mine is second hand which knocked off a lot from the price, the engines are rock solid so an old one that gets you out there exploring you can get for a lot cheaper, you don't need anything facing to explore. Hope your studies go well, I am about to head off again to explore, this time I think I'll head west......
Thanks Steve glad you liked them, I checked your channel and saw that I had already watch a bunch of your videos. I road around Australia last year in 50 days with a couple of mates on husqvarna 401 svartpilen totally the wrong bikes but a lot of fun. Just have some images on my instagram of that trip. I guess the RUclips algorithm can't find me 😂. not sure what else to do, except keep sharing the videos from my rides on here. At least it is giving me motivation to keep getting out there and go on more rides exploring and having new adventures.
That’s some ride on a 400! RUclips is a funny thing for sure. I posted links to a few of my videos on a few adventure bike forums and also on Reddit on r/motorcycles which got the word out a bit wider. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Thanks Larry, glad you are enjoying the videos. I hope I can still be riding at 78 that is epic. There are another 11 episode in this series, hope you enjoy them too.
Another wonderful relaxed post. Really like how you tell the history and discribe each place and town. My mate from Ireland is in Tasmania at the moment riding for the last week with the Tasmanian Vincent motorcycle owners group. The adventure started in Devonport. 😎👍
Brilliant brilliant filming, plus it looks like your on a 2022ish re Himalayan. I’m getting more and more convinced to go for a new one rather than a second hand model. Cool, keep it up.
Yes Neil, my Father said the same thing, I guess it's had time to recover from the initial clearing back in the day. Yes the area is stunning and the trip has been awesome.
definitely Michael, the whole island is the perfect place for a month motorbike trip, there is so much to explore, in a relatively close area and a lot of variety. I barely scratched the surface.
I have the smallest lightest gimbal for my main camera, but it's the extra weight (a Royal Enfield mechanic as already told me I am over weight on the bike) and finding somewhere to store it safely on the bike which is the issue (space is at a premium). So I'll have to reassess what I take and how I pack it for the next trip, hopefully I can fit the gimbal in. But yes I cringe at the walking shots too.
You'll have an epic time, no matter where on the island you end up, there are still another 7 episode on the island to come as there is so much and I barely scratched the surface. Which way are you heading down to the ferry?
@@freewayproject Coming from the South Burnett region to Texas, Wellington NSW, then back roads where I can find them to Geelong and ferry. Fingers crossed for good or passable riding weather in Tassie. Return via the high country.
That sounds like a great route, I need to work more on my navigation to find more dirt roads and trail. I am also heading thought the Victoria high country, but just to get a feel, I want to do a long trip exploring the area in the future. have fun on your trip and safe travels.
Wow. One of my dreams is an adventure ride in Australia. Yours Is awesome. Greetings from Italy
thanks Frankie, glad you enjoyed the series, Australia is a big place to explore.
Joe you couldn't show case Tassie better ,gorgeous footage and stills.
Thanks, it is a stunning place so that made it a lot easier.

@Joe Ryan I'm getting a royal enfield himalayan for definite now . Amazing videos mate keep it up
Thanks Henry, if you're into exploring the Himalayan does a great job, I have done over 22 000km and no issue with it.
Definitely Joe, cheers for that mate 👍

The road into Strahan via Queenstown is a ripper. Not for the faint hearted in winter though.
It is stunning, yes winter might be a little more tricky.

Yet another great video.
I was in Linda just 3 x months ago on a postie bike.
