- Mario Maker 3 is still a long time away and we don't know for sure if we'll ever get it. That's why I started creating my own Mario Maker game in Unity! In this video we'll take a look at the progress I made since Part 6.

I like how it started off normal, but then it turned into pizza tower.
It would be cool to have the bigger snake blocks from NSMBU as well. That could make certain levels more interesting or challenging

For the snake block, add in a speed which is perfectly in between the blue and the green ones
I'd replace the taunts with more Mario-appropriate ones like a peace sign or something

@@clexo2155 purposely bad unity mario maker. Finish level then you get sent to a room. In the room there are screens with a dev instructing how the super smashy maker phys will work
I would recommend changing the pizza tower stuff so it feels more in character for mario, since peppino and mario have different personalities
I gotta admit, that was elaborate. I thought the file would just open a troll face or something. But you put a whole intro in and even made it into a playable game
I actually really liked the sprites for the third snake block speed. I know that was likely a part of the April Fool’s festivities, but keeping that speed in as an Easter egg might be a fun idea! In any case, I’m kinda sad that I missed this video when it originally came out - seems like a lot of effort was put into it, and well done to everyone who helped design the sprites to make it happen (and you for coding them in)!

Side note though, while I love Pizza Tower and the fun references to it you have added I think the emotes and the Tv screen should be activated by a power-up or just have it as a toggle-able setting, just so people can keep Mario authentic if they want.

You know whats really sad? I downloaded the "pre alpha build" and was like "Oh they must've changed the assets to prevent copyright takedowns!" It took me until the rickroll to understand
It's just satisfying seeing the new things Smashy puts in this game.

The Alpha/Beta of the game is so good. It's already rivaling the first Mario Maker in terms of quality! If development keeps going this smoothly, then the second game might be obsolete in comparison! Great Job Guys!

This project is making me enjoy the tameness of mario maker 2.
Better idea than adding a ton of snake block variations, just allow for custom speed (measured in blocks/second) with the slowest being 0.1 or something

To be honest with the emotes and tv reaction it doesn't feel like Mario anymore. In mm2 they have a chat which should be expanded upon instead of the emotes. Also every other feature is awesome

Tiny suggestion for the snake blocks, I just made a set of levels using them in MM2 and I really wish there was a way to mirror the direction it starts. so instead of it being locked to start to the right please make an option to flip it in Super Smashy maker.

I noticed in one of your previous videos that you used a bunch of boolians to represent the contents of an item box. Just a thought, you don't have to do it this way, but it would probably be more efficient to represent each type of contents as a number. Then, represent the contents with a single integer that you can set to each contents's number to represent what it holds. Then use a Switch() to perform all related functions.
(you can use // to list what type of contents each number represents in the code)

The downloadable version of this game is very cool and amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who's a big fan of Mario Maker 2! There's also a secret if you reach the flag pole for the first time

Something I imagine wouldn't be too difficult to add but have wanted in the actual Mario Maker for years would be some kind of toll or shop block. As in, something like a Question Mark block that only spits out its contents if you pay a certain number of coins (and yeah I know that this wasn't in any actual Mario games but it's not the most farfetched idea). This could be put to good use in all sorts of levels, depending on how and where the coins are supplied to the player. There could possibly be settings on whether or not the item is shown before paying, or for how much stock there is, for some variety.
For a real addition you should add the only two enemies that are exclusively in the LEGO Super Mario line. The First was a new variant of a bullet bill named the "Boomer Bill", these enemies are bigger than bullet bills but smaller than banzai bills. They feature the same face design as a banzai bill. The second is the "Captain Goomba", this goomba is thematically set for the airship with a pirate captain hat, this goomba also needs to be jumped on twice before being defeated.

This looks absolutely amazing. A Mario Maker port or sequel on PC has been my dream just for the convince of having a mouse to customize levels. As much as I love the Pizza Tower stuff, I personally think there should be a toggle to turn it off or on. I know some people (including me) kind of want that core Mario experience.

This man’s added more features than mm2 in a few months than Nintendo has in years
April fools videos are much harder to realise when it's about a year after
suggestion, allow snake block path crossing, and an "advanced editor mode" that has an editor more like mario editor and also allows use of 'command blocks' which you place above normal blocks to give command that change the block or enemy behavior.
for example you can place a command block on a a pair of doors or red note blocks and type a command like "warp:room1:codenametoseperatedoors" to change where they warp you to. this would be good for places like haunted house levels where doors may lead you back to where you started, or you could place it on the text block and type "text:this is a message", or you can place one on bowser and type in a command like "action:2" to make him fight differently, like how the way he does in smb1 1-4 and smb1 8-4 are different as bowser starts throwing hammers.

While the Pizza Tower features for the most part are jokes, taunts and emotes would be a genuinely cool idea.
Dog it took me the entirety of the video + playing through the entirety of the "alpha" to realize the date. I'm dead
An idea I would include for the snake blocks since green is normal, red is fast, why not make blue slow and add a sad face, keep up the great work and can’t wait to see it finished
This is a fairly interesting feature that can be introduced to the game since I believe there aren't too many colors in the game, which makes me feel like I couldn't design much cooler levels. It would be helpful if we added other colors to mushroom platforms, such as orange, cyan, blue, purple, and pink, as well as tilting and stretching variants. I also want the Mushroom Platform on NSMB2 to go up and down if you stand on it, which the user may choose. I'd like the question blocks to be colored as well, not just yellow, but blue, orange, green, red, and so on. And I also want the bricks to be colored, as well as the notion of being able to alter the color of the Koopa shell to whatever color you want, not only green and red, but blue, orange, yellow, pink, purple, black, white, cyan, brown, gray, magenta, banana (Ref. of Among Us), coral, and so on.
Another feature I want is the Super Mario Galaxy powerups. I want players to be able to pick how the ice flower works, whether it walks across lava or freezes foes as normal. You can also discover boo shrooms, bee shrooms, and a variety of other mushrooms. I'd also like the Lucky Bell and the Invincibility Leaf, as well as a poison variety of the powerups; a poison mushroom can cause you to receive damage, but a poison flower can fire out poison balls.
Another aspect is that I want not just the ice bro, boomerang bro, and fire bro to be available in all styles, but I also want more bro varieties. a Super Bro, which shoots out superballs, a pyre bro, which shoots out bigger fireballs, and also thunder bros, bluster bros, miner bros, bubble bros, circus bros, poison bros, etc. (Ref. from Super Mario Maker 3, Yamamura's Edition)
And I also got another one my sister has highly requested, not only do you get to play as Mario, Luigi, Toad, (you can change the mushroom heads color if you want) or Toadette, I also want characters such as Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Wario, Waluigi, Nabbit, Toadsworth, etc. I also want a Mii character to play the levels too.
That's all the ideas I have right now, You should add these, those Mario fans would love them!
