I believe I read somewhere, and don't clock me, cause Titanic came out 23 years ago when I was 11 years old (I'm 34 and believe I read it in Teen Beat back then? I remember it because Titanic was the obsession of our entire class.) that the pastel dress was chosen to make her look vulnerable (like you mentioned about the oversizeness of the pastel coat) because she was opening her heart to love with Jack. She wore the dark, strong colors with Cal because she was so strong and fiercely independent, as well as the reds matched her fiery spirit. The costumer, Deborah Scott, worked her ASS off and totally deserved that best costume Oscar! Not one item of clothing in that movie was by chance. So much meticulous research! What a treat for us! YOU look absolutely beautiful in the outfit. I wonder if you would care to cosplay as Jack in his "poor boy" clothes?

I've spied a seller on Etsy like a year ago that makes a replica of the coat and keep debating to get one made, think I will. I have a replica of the "Jump" dress, "I'm Flying" ensemble and the "sinking" dress, those yours is much more high quality than mines. I LOVE your replicas & they fit like a glove. Fun Fact: the coat was re-used in Tuck Everlasting on Alexis Bledel for some scenes.

I actually thought it was a little off putting she didn't talk about the maker at all.
Sky I actually read up on her tik tok comments and she had said that it is a very independent and private seller that only is able to be contacted if you actually know them personally. She said this person doesn’t do stuff for people he doesn’t know. Hope this clears stuff up!

The Rose dress makes you look quite a lot like her, Jessie. I really love it.
Another fact about the chiffon dress is it was also made to have Rose look more free, almost like she has taken a breath of fresh air. A lot of the clothes she wore before looked very confining, heavy, and dark as opposed to the light and flowy dress she wore the day of the sinking.
I always thought they put her in lighter colors when she was around jack, and then they put her in dark colors when she was around her mother/boyfriend (to show how depressing/oppressive her life was before she met jack) 💜 I love the dress and coat! 💜
The dress and coat are beautiful. Titanic is one of my favorite movies. My mum loves it as well. The fashions, particularly Rose's wardrobe, are fabulous. The Edwardian fashions were very flattering to women's shape. The fashion of following decade, the 1920's, were completely opposite and not at all flattering for women. Although the corsets of the era were difficult to put on, they did enhance women's figures.
I absolutely LOVE the silk chiffon Swim Dress you made! And the pink overcoat compliments it so much. I have the pattern for Rose’s swim dress and jump dress. Can’t wait to make them!

I hate to tell you this but that is a hoax. Clive Palmer is a joke and has been known to start and not finish project after project, and making a LOT of people mad. Don’t believe the crackpot videos you’re seeing on Facebook and RUclips. The closest one they’re making is a replica at a resort in China but it isn’t going to sail and it’s not going to be 100%.
I’m making the dress shown in this video I have posted a few videos on me making it I haven’t filmed the whole process but I’m almost done making it and then in December for my Christmas gift of myself I’m buying the coat. I know the seller she got it from and I have spoken to her the coat tho is $600 dollars

My aunt bought me a set of jewelry and one was a pair of earrings that, unbeknownst to her, look just like the ones Rose wore with this dress. And at one point I had a pair of shoes that although weren’t replicas of hers, looked very similar and would have been perfect with it.

This dress is one of my favorites too! I did a similar outfit for Halloween one year, “made” the dress from a white nightgown and StitchWitchery-ed some pink ribbon under the bust, but for the jacked I used a thrifted men’s gray coat and used gel to make my hair look wet, so it recreated the scene when she arrived in New York. Wore the necklace.
The dress was mostly covered by the coat so I didn’t need a real replica, just enough to get the idea.
But all these recreations have been so fun to watch!

Okay two things!
1.)I find it AMAZING how easily you were able to lip sync Rose’s lines. Like for the video, you were able to match her lines and even her BREATHING, PERFECTLY with the movie. That just shows what a true fan you are, and I love any time I’m able to be in perfect sync with one of my favorite films.😁
2.)That is a gorgeous dress. I’m not even saying this because it’s a Titanic dress, but I really love and kind of want that dress.😂🤣 I mean, it being Titanic inspired and it being meant to be from the early 20th century definitely helps, but I’m a big fan of long flowy dress with bows, and my favorite colors include purple, blue, pink, green, and yellow, and specifically pastel and light versions of those colors, which are shown in the dress. If I were to see it in a store, it would catch my eye immediately, especially with those beautiful beads and lace on top. I also love some lacing and sparkle. But I can see how like you said it would be hard to take care of because of the fabric, and it would also be hard to buy and especially make. But I hope one day I could own it.☺️💜💙
