    I’m planning on moving to LA next summer and it sometimes seems SO unattainable watching these super famous RUclipsrs and influencers in their luxury penthouses but as someone with just around the same budget this video made me realize it is achievable, thank you for this super informative vid💗

      I felt the same way, it was disheartening realizing how much you actually get for your money when you see all these luxury apartments, but LA is very affordable if you adjust your expectations. Plus if you have a roommate, it's even cheaper! And it's all worth it, you'll love LA 🤗

      I'm also making (or hoping to) a move to L.A next summer (2022) and didn't want to spend more than $1500. I did find some places on craigslist, but this is reassuring, knowing that finding something with the utilities included is a thing (which it is NOT in NYC)

    This is the first LA apartment hunt video I've seen made with a reasonable budget and expectations. Most are all about south facing windows and new appliances and places worth 2000+, which is completely out of my own prospects. So, thank you!

    Good video. I think some people look at less renovated apartments and act like they're dumps but you can do so much with them. Decor and small updates (i.e. replacing cabinet handles, stick on backsplash, etc) makes a world of difference. I'd gladly take these apartments in an ok neighborhood over those $3000+ cubes in DTLA.

    It a good time to apartment hunt in Los Angeles as there's been a mass exodus of residents this year due to the pandemic and the restaurant & entertainment industries coming to a standstill. I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist and I've been amazed to find so many upgraded units in desirable neighborhoods like Los Feliz and Culver City showing up for under $2000. You can get a bedroom in a single family house in Venice right now for $1000! I had to move to Anaheim from Highland Park 5 years ago after being displaced by rising rents caused by gentrification, but I'm positioning myself to move back to LA in the next year if things continue trending down as they are now.

    • @JacyErin
      @JacyErin  4 года назад +1

      Yes, so true! And landlords are looking to fill their places quickly just for a sense of tenant security, so they're motivated and willing to negotiate. Let's hope that trend continues so you can join us here in the city :)

    • @swicheroo1
      @swicheroo1 3 года назад +4

      I used to live in Highland Park. I left when I bought in Midcity. Something to consider: Get yourself into a rent stabilized apartment. Those are generally units built before 1979. Landlords can only raise rent by 3%, each year. Don't waste your time with 'single family houses.' They can pretty much kick you out at the end of your lease. Or they can raise your rent to market rates after your lease.
