I have been there and although I have never made such a blunder, simple mistakes happen. I hear he's been fired and if this is true, people should stand up for him and demand his comeback. He was indeed very professional, although not an angel.

+Maggie Yapi YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TRIBALISM WORKS. I know that you are referring to Kyuks vs Luo/Luhya, by saying man from the lake. Here is how it works;...(only an example) a kyuk ruler had already promoted 9 kyuks based on tribalism,.....then another promotion time comes on,......now his instinct or advisers will tell him "now you must promote a man from the lake, in order to balance" or else you will be in trouble.......even though a kyuk deserved it, based on merit.
I have known this guy personally since high School as very brilliant and hard working, having joined the military way back in 1989 as a navy officer. He has climbed up the ladder over the years to a Lieutenant Colonel.

I've been watching millitary parades from all over the globe especially the top ten and what I can say, there's no room for mistakes in the millitary. Maybe you guys should watch millitary parades from Russia, China, U.S.A, North Korea and then tell me.
military precision, anything short of this can be relegated elsewhere. This is a parade rehearsed many times and error is unacceptable, because in a combat situation error is fatal. He goes .. Period

He is a senior officer and the only punishment he'll get is go for a rigorous refresher course! Army officers are not just fired, there is a rigorous procedure for that...

Mr President, please safe this soldier from loosing his job or from being demoted. Whoever has never made a mistake let them cast their first stone. He is human and excellent in his job. It was an accident and an accident can happen to anyone.

if he is a Lt Col ...he can kiss the full colonel rank good buy and may be forced to leave the military or be given a desk job not comanding anything for rest of his career.. unless his CinC uhuru steps in..
