- Tilda Swinton and director Bong Joon-ho talk about class warfare, Margaret Thatcher and giant pigs as they explain how their 2013 collaboration, Snowpiercer, got made.
A ‘mild-mannered man in a suit’ was how Bong Joon-ho’s script originally described the bureaucrat quelling an uprising in Snowpiercer, a post-apocalyptic thriller set on a train. Swinton delighted in transforming the role into a sadistic monster, complete with dentures and furs.

Ms Swinton did THE MOST AMAZING job in this role! Absolute stuff of teaching! Her portrayal brought EVERYTHING together. The false teeth removal? PRICELESS!!!!!!!! Strange that that the movie didn't do so well on American cinemas initially.

Tilda is the best persona except Song Gang Ho in Bong's films. They understand and respect each other as fellow artists.
The interpreter was great being very natual, accurate, and smooth, but just one correction.
He casted the actors from the movies he liked, not the actors he liked.
That's what he said. Of course I guess he probably also likes the actors though.
Additional info: He also doesn't prefer to audition ppl much but he would rather watch and check lots of the works of the candidate actors when selecting and casting actors.

Really random comment, but Tilda and Director Bong should have switched places, so the interpreter could whisper/talk privately with him if he feels like he's missing some of the English conversations. Other than that, what a fun and informative talk. Thank you for uploading!
Whenever an interpreter is used, the person for whom they are interpreting should have the final say on positing. So I am quite sure Director Bong would have been sitting next to his interpreter, should he have wanted to.

@@BenM.Davies Dir. Bong didn't say exactly what about. but what he said is he read this event in small corner on a news paper. He is working on two scrits, a Korean and an English. He hasn't decided which one he writes first. however, we will know soon since he starts in earnest one of the scripts for next film in April. This is what I know so far. Sorry about my poor English. Enlish is not my first language. I hope you understand what I write :)

The interpreter is at the same level as Sharon Choi but with British mannerism (vocabulary, mannerism, stiff upper lip, etc).
i was kinda annoyed with her habitual 'sorta...' thing haha..
Sharon is slightly better as she knows a lot of films to begin with as a student of film making!!

excelente película, genial el nombre de la película, pero tengo una critica, porque los de clase alta tienen mucha seguridad, protección en sus casas, y esta familia no la tenia? como cámaras de seguridad dentro de la vivienda? y pensé en un final menos trágico, menos violento.
fabiola abarca Realmente en Corea, los de clase de alta no tienes la seguridad. Solamente tienen los cameras(cctv) y sistema de electrónica.

The interpreter needs to work on her diction. I needed to make extra efforts to hear her clearly.
I thought she was pronouncing perfectly clear though, in BBC English.
she's an uk interpreter. she was beyond excellent. Im so glad Bong's been getting these excellent interpreters.

Awful movie. Was looking forward to it on Netflix but after the first hour I couldn't watch any more. Nothing about it I enjoyed. No doubt the comic is great but the film version, no.
