@@slee7719 I think we don't have to compare between translators and take the difference seriously. I did say that because Sharon's translation skill is overqualified. I don't expect any translator can convey all the nuances in Korean like her but she is able to do it. (Maybe due to her background knowledge on film scene, or experience with english/korean scripts) Also, we don't have to feel bad about the matching problem. Most interviews in the award run are done by Bong and it is reasonable for him to have better a translator. The other translator did her part time job very well.

36:03 I totally agree with D. Bong. I was impressed when Gitaek looked back his semi-ground home in the waving flood. I cannot find a right word to explain Song’s acting and what I felt at the moment. It was really awesome especially in that tempo.
Totally truly I agree😟😟😟😟😟. I was crying in my mind when I saw his face expressing complicated feelings. That scene was so heartbreaking and Song has been so incredible actor always.
Yeah, it was just sadness. A sad parent and just human being who looked back at a home, no matter what that home is, with fondness because of simple, fun times spent with his family there.
Lee Jeong Eun is sooooo beautiful in this video. I hope she dresses and dolls herself up like this more often. And Sharon did an exceptional job as the interpreter. She is good with playing simple words and makes them more meaningful.
The actors and director/writer Bong Joon Ho are so gracious with one another-they really seem to (rightly) appreciate each other’s contributions to this film. You can feel their camaraderie as they bask in the success of the film. Thanks to SAG-AFTRA for including Cho Yeo Jeong and Lee Jeong Eun whom we haven’t seen in other English-interpreted interviews online.

When Bong was referring to Korean classics, he was probably talking about The Housemaid (1960) and the films of Im Kwon Taek like Chunhyang and Painted Fire.
Kudos to Sharon for pefectly delivering the essence of what Bong Joon Ho and the cast were trying to say in this interview and countless others!! Lol I got attracted to her just because of her amazing interpreting skills. She's really talented. Looking forward to her movie! P.S. Both interpreters did well.
I love the Works of Director Bong Joon-Ho Since I saw The Host. I love this cast very much. They are very talented and have great chemistry. I believe now people will appreciate and follow the Korean Cinema after Parasite. There are so many great films people haven't seen.
Also, the lack of information on behalf of western audiences/professionals is shown when Cho Yeo-Jeong has to say she's been acting for over 20 years. They act as if it's their first movie just because it's the first time americans have looked beyond their own borders.
i have been watching a lot of interviews on director bong. i just wish somebody would ask him what are his thoughts on the killer being captured about his film "memories of murder"
i do not remember exactly but somewhere in Parasite interview in US he got the question and he and Song said that they were very surprised and relieved that the murderer got caught after all the years. Bong always wondered about how the muderer would look like and when he saw the picture of him he thought that the murderer looks like his imagination. Not normal and little bit creepy. I hope u would find that interview some day.
The actors and director are formally introduced by their names in Eastern order, family name first followed by personal name: Song Kang-ho, Cho Yeo-jeong, Lee Jeong-eun. and Bong Joon-ho.
RaymondHng even Japanese are reverting back to the same tradition after Westernizing it for decades. What’s worst is that in Japan it was never consistent. I hope East Asian countries stick with the traditional way of saying their names.
The interviewer never broke from formality, referring to each actor by their surname. It would be unusual in the USA for an interviewer to refer to Brad Pitt as Mr Pitt, for example.

What I pointed out was the fact she missed the puchline during the translation couple of times and the audience missed the chance of big laughs.
