I sometimes do, begin to wonder who would impersonate the former Soviet communist dictator Brezhnev? The Clock King/Temple Fugit looked just like the former Soviet communist dictator Brezhnev back in 1966. The Batman TV series casting director William P. D'Angelo judged Brezhnev by what his career was, not just by his outward appearance. He never judged him by what's in his heart.

This is one I did have, it came in a set with the Batboat and trailer. The boat was plastic and didn't last as long but the Batmobile lasted for many years. Yes those missiles got lost almost immediately so I'd use some of the old man's spent matches as missiles instead, they worked just fine.

Cool batmobile. ! My son and me were at a car show in Michigan, and one of the original batmobile cars was there ! Had signatures of George Barris, Adam West & Burt Ward on the hood.! We got a chance to have our pictures taken in the car, and got to go to his shop & see the rest of his collection of batman stuff. ! That was a great experience for us !! Love the Batmobile!

I had that very same model. Twice. The first as a child. That should have been around the middle of the 70’s. The second as a collectible along with the batcopter and the batboat. I loved the tiny Batman and Robin figures.
I just bought a batmobil yesterday. Not this one that you restored but a smaller one (not the 1/64. I think it’s a 1/32). Loved the video and the memories! Thanks!

Hello 267 Fan Club! Did a restoration myself a year ago for my son. Had one when I was a kid, circa 1970-ish. It was THE coolest toy at the time, and I wish that I'd had the foresight to hang on to it (I've no memory of what happened to mine). Found one on ebay from California (mostly intact), sourced a windshield from Australia, button-head screws from China, and figures from the UK (which I had to paint myself). Great project, and a wonderful way to create NEW memories to go along with the old ones. :)

I portrayed the actress Rachel Dratch as Mini Mess/Feroj Shimizu, who's supposed to be the 1952 17 year old female gang banger who's also supposed to be Batman's enemy. She's supposed to be one of 8 Ball's henchmen. She's not a funny joke compared to Bob the Goon, that's what. 😤

The original 1960's one, which I had, and played with ad infinitum, had no tow hook, and indeed, flames that went in and out as the car was rolled along. It also had rubber tyred wheels with the Bat symbol on the hubs. Nice to see that the Batphone is still in situ on yours - this was a detail that fascinated me as a kid, along with the fire extinguisher - details like that never appeared on other cars. Likewise, the 'Bat Fast Turn' lever, that hung down underneath the beacon. Great stuff. I remember my dad buying it for me from a newsagent opposite the pier at Felixstowe (it was still there, last time I went). He came out of the shop, and gave it to me -I was four or five, and didn't know the thing existed. Best. Corgi. Ever. I don't actually have one at the moment. I have a similar scale Hot Wheels one - nice, but not a patch on the Corgi one.
That grass dart - we used to call them 'Flea darts' when we were kids, in the mistaken belief that, if hit by a thrown one, it would give you fleas. Yes, really.🤔
Yours looks wonderful. It's the sort of toy that just wills you to play with it.

Your right Rob. The Korgi BatMobile in my collection, the exhaust undgulates back and force as the car goes forward. It also has a blade that comes down from the center hood; which is activated from the gold button in front of the windshield. It also has orange/red missiles that shoot out of the tubes behind the center cockpit. This also came with a Bat Boat and trailer as well. Thanks Rob & Bob. Great detail!!!

I used to have this one. Yes, the flames used to reciprocate back and forth as it drove. The Bat-cable cutter at the front was always my favorite; it would operate with a terrific “snap,” enough to get the caped crusaders out of a bind, every time!

Brilliant job. Years ago I watched a restoration of one of these where they turned a later Batmobile into the original 1966 version with the moving flame 🔥- no tow bar. The 1966 version I had as a kid in the 70’s. had no tow bar and rubber tyres. This changed to hard plastic wheels in 1973. So glad to have had an original. Rob you did a great job. I would love to see a conversion of a Corgi batmobile into a Lincoln Futura which is the original concept car George Barris used as a basis for the Batmobile

The tabs on the missile launcher is the same as the very old music machines that played by way or a roller going around with points all over it and they passed and picked a flat metal tab that was tuned to a certain note. When it all went round and they all did what they were supposed to do...beautiful music played. That would be the same in the music boxes or musical jewelry boxes.
