One overlooked extra step. ALWAYS clean the rubber gasket and respective matting surface on the car before reassemble. Over the years, dirt and debris will render them quite ineffective and water ingress will eventually damage components and/or create additional corrosion problems! All these issues can be postponed for many years of trouble free usage! ;-) The judicious application of a thin film of silicone, on both surfaces, will definitely be greatly beneficial. For it's easy usage, silicone in spray form is my preference. The extra 30 seconds spend on this is a well worth investment! Cheers

ALWAYS make sure the replacement bulb works after fitting it and BEFORE screwing everything back. None of these videos on you tube show this.
