Been struggling to get the Desktop Environment working, thought I did something that messed up the OS! Glad you confirmed the issue! I am new to Parrot OS wondering how agile they are in fixing the issue.
while i like parrot os, it goes almost a year without any kernel updates. their previous one was either march or may of last year. why this is important is for better hardware support, not just security.
@@Denvercoder how I tried to download the ISO file and burn it using the raspberry pi imager and it fries my sd cards (which are new and out of the box). I tried the alternate method starting with the light raspberry pi OS and I get issues that don't seem to be resolved. I really don't want to fry another card. My RP5 is new and out of the box as well.
I downloaded parrot os security on my pi5 tonight. It loads but no desktop I only have cmd prompt. I put in user name and password . It shows parrot sec in text. No gui
If one has a use for gpio, the RPi is still pretty great. You guys are right though that, for the cost, these newer gen low-power Intel mini PCs are better.

If you press ctrl+alt+f2 the terminal will load

Looks like they just released 6.1 today with the drivers for RP5
And it boots. I’m running the security version now.

Agree. Unfortunately I don’t see a reason to buy a new RespberryPi nowadays.
