It doesn't *need* it, but it definitely *wants* it! Could be useful if you have multiple Pis, and buy some extra tubing and blocks... though the total expense makes this mostly a novelty item. Still fun to play with!
I prefer to put my Pi inside a walk in freezer and cool the cpu with phase change cooling at -50. Water cooling is ok if you're just starting out I guess...
Hi Don, would you like to try M.2 NVMe SSDs? with Raspberry Pi 5? The SSDs are preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS. Let me know if you like the idea. Thanks.
Stuff like this would be handy IF we could actually overclock the RPI5. I have two RPI5's in the 8GB configuration. Can i overclock either of them? No because both just crash on boot regardless of what overclocking settings I have. I have spoken to others about this and to my surprise (because all review units can be overclocked because nearly every reviewer has overclocked their review unit) theirs can't be overclocked either. The yield this time around is so poor it's laughable. We all got our RPI5 's in the second batch sent out to sellers. I just hope the situation improves so i can justify buying this.
check out @leepspvideo latest video on overclocking pi, he had mention this same issue and the latest batch he personally bought was able to do way higher then reviewer units upto 3.4ghz!!
@@NovaspiritTech Yeah I've spoken to Lee about it. He said the one he got sent doesn't overclock but the one he bought (he bought it before me) does overclock. Confusing situation because I'm not alone.
This is one of the reasons why I am holding off buying the RPI5 to see if any issues crop up. So second batch is already out. Might hold out for the third batch.

Yes, this looks perfect for a cluster, with just the right flavor of mad scientist -
You gotta fit this into the rack, even if only for a video
Maybe a crypto mining cluster

When my dad was in university, he used a VAX 11/780. Now, there is more computing power in a credit card sized computer. I loved this video.

I'm old skool, mines in a fish tank full of baby oil.
Idk the $5 cooler works fine just fine for me.
Pretty awesome results. Thanks for showing the cooler.
This is insane. Similar to one of your most popular vids from way back
I could see this being handy for countries that are hot and dry with limited to no A/C... or garage project, maybe?
Nice video. Are you planning to post your temp program to your GitHub?
I can uploaded the code once i clean it up
Awesome!
Cooler temps with simpler cooking options
Looks like a handy them monitor program. Do you have a link to the source? Thanks for the video.

How many heat dissipation pads does the Pi really needs? There's only three with the active cooler but five with the water cooler. Why is that?
Thanks buddy... Another project to fixate on!
cool i don't need it but really want it but my parents will be like read 200 books for it
I guess it is nice if you always wanted to do something with water cooling, but don’t want to risk anything with your PC
Looks good unlikely a POE hat would work with it

@@Darkk6969 The RPI5 is as fussy as the RPI4 when it comes to power supplies and USB enclosures for sata ssd's. It's not the best board to be honest
We don't need more test with Raspberry things. We don't care. Maybe the future shareholders will ask for it.
Looking forward to the @der8auer review!
