Actually a disaster recovery episode of the pi-hosted series would be great. How do we back-up and restore our server in case of HDD crash or if we want to install fresh OS.

One of the simplest ways I've found is DL Pi Apps then install Pi Power Tools from it. Run it select IMG mode and it will create an image of your Drive and save it where you select it...then after a failure just burn it to a disk and you're back up and running in literally minutes. Or have a backup waiting to go.

I purchased this tower case a while back and was not too impressed with the way the lights and and screen operated from the manufacturer so I never really had them working, but after following along with you installing the 2 docker containers everything is working fine now... thanks.

Thank you for another top-notch video. 👍
    My thoughts:
►Would have been better with shutdown script and a tactile power switch.
►The m.2 is reachable after removing eight screws. (For comparison, Geeekpi's case for the SupTronics x825 board buries the SSD under 12 screws! Meanwhile, Argon1 m.2 case puts the drive underneath four screws. Nintendo-looking NESPi and RF PiStation have easiest access to the drives.)
►Can do without OLED because tend to wear out.
    Kindest regards.

Hi! Do you know how to autostart lights before restarting the raspberry? I need to log in to this container every time I restart it to enable the leds :(

Greetings - although off-topic from this vid. Noted that you provided a Greylog app template. Is there a walkthrough for this - aside from establishing a copy to stack/template? Keep up the awesome work - I continue to gain great knowledge and insight from you. Thanks!

Really want to have a tutorial about how to make use the Rpi to do the transcode job, and how to determine which video file needed to transcode, let say want to transcode the video file into H.265. Thanks a lot.

I Love your channel, I watch it all the time (sometimes I watch vids over and over again).... But, because of the shortages of pi's, and the $$$ scalping going on in the world, I have stopped looking at Pi's all together, I'm looking for alternative SBCs

RED Alert. You need to fix your Amazon link. I want you to get $$$ when I buy the case. Great video and great case for general use not just for a nas.

When I try to login in to pixel server page it does not show the login option. It just says “cannot access with your up address” do you know why this is happening? I followed all your steps. The lcd screen did work by the way.

Does all the pi hosted series transfer to an x86/64 platform as well? With the price of the pi’s at the moment could someone use the same instructions for a sff pc like a intel Nuc?

I like this case but it kill’s me that they haven’t made it so all the cables ( network, power, hdmi ) connect on the same side; like the argos did.
It’s the only reason I have to pass again on this one; too bad it’s one of the best looking cases out there

I was going to ask how long does transcoding take on a PI??? I have a 12 core / 24 threaded Xeon running @ 2.2Ghz for transcoding video. For 1 hour of video, FFMPEG takes about 4 minutes to transcode to x264. I can't imagine how long that would take on a PI. Especially if you transcode to x265.

Is there any way to control the pi's fan speed via macley's tool?

    • @Macley
      @Macley 2 года назад

I actually have a PWM fan (don't know if it also controls rgb) but i used the standard way (define the temperature to spin the fan on).

Transcoding great number of videos with a Pi? But why? An average PC would do the job exponentially faster.
