While Kali Linux is the go-to OS for beginners interesting in penetration testing or hacking, Parrot Security OS is a comparable alternative for those looking for a change. On this episode of Cyber Weapons Lab, we'll show you how to download, install, and run Parrot Security on any computer via a virtual machine.

It's great that you're posting this because this will further grow the community for ParrotOS. Looks like something I can get into and wow there are so many tools! A classmate told me about this a few months ago but I never looked into it but now I'll have to give it a try. Thank you for this very informative vid! Also, your keyboard sounds satisfying for some reason.
It is very, very sticky from an energy drink. Thank you!
Well.. There's a lot of tools but do you know how to use all of it tho? I mean do you really need all of those tools?
@@NullByteWHT Can I run steam on this bitch
let's be honest here parrot os is the best-looking hacking os out there I mean kali is decent but needs hella good specs to run smoothly and doesn't look that nice
@253 Sammy well kali Linux has most tools but same as parrot. Parrot is more for pentesting which makes you aim for a job
so most people use parrot since it's nice looking and has a friendly gui which can help beginners learn.kali seems more complecated and is more for advanced users
You can make tools :)
@@ligeskityler yea for beginners its not a decent idea until you know what you're doing
parrot is hella buggy kali is stable
For beginners I would say Kali. Because it's simple and fast. People who've used it will certainly understand. It serves most pentesting works. However, if you need a good daily driver with serious security and encryption and anonymity and sand boxing, you should go for parrot os.
Always liked dragons more than parrots TBH but this OS is killer. Also I love the way you mercilessly slap the life out of your keyboard
please make a complete tutorial on parrot security os, we couldn't find the solution anywhere else.
Another vote for more Parrot OS tutorials Thanks for all the great videos
3:30 Highly highly recommend going all the way, here. If an attacker compromised the web server, they could offer up a corrupted ISO, and the hashes for the corrupted ISO. Unauthenticated hashes are only good for validating that your download wasn't corrupted, and as the first stepping stone to verifying the PGP/GPG signature.
With a large download like an ISO, they will put up a file of the various unauthenticated hashes, and then sign that file. So you download the ISO, the hashes file, validate the download using your favorite hash, and then validate the hashes file.
You can run sudo parrot-upgrade for a complete upgrade. Also, the parrot repository is much better than kali.
Does it upgrade the version?
Well Kali is more popular than parrot so ;)
using parrot OS since watching your pixie dust attack using bully reaver & acquiring handshake using airgeddon videos , also ettercap , i actually installed both kali and parrot but i liked the parrot interface more and since most things that u featured on using kali also ran on parrot why not . hoping you will upload more videos on more powerfull tools
Checking the hash values in windows terminal: certUtil -hashfile pathFiletochek
Pretty damn hi-tech/professional looking background! :)
Love your videos, crystal clear. Thanks again !!!
Wow friend, you literally don't blink. Thank you very much for the video!
Yes! Finally, support for our beloved parrot!
I agree, Parrot my favourite
Noobs...
I love Parrot as it runs well on a 2gig 1.8ghz dual core laptop from 2007
This is the prettiest GUI I have ever seen….and the OS is flat badass
Good tutorial, this is the OS that I prefer

great vid! ^_^ im really interested on how to use the kayak car hacking tool and was wondering if that was on the list for future videos?
What ever happened to the folks at Null Byte? Love this channel still to this day.
It ran surprisingly well with only 1GB of ram😅
Welcome to Linux
Still probably wound't run on my computer... I can't even run minecraft anymore.

Raspi?
@@threepoint1434 minecraft needs way more ram than any operating system
So for the windows user to check the hash iso image just do C:\> certutil -hashfile -your iso file drag and drop ur iso files same as in the video
Thx a lot! Gr8 inspiration!
If you have a spare laptop to dedicate to security testing, parrot OS is awesome. It's more daily-driver friendly than Kali, and the install process includes hard drive zeroizing and encryption. It has mostly the same list of tools as Kali, and it's better at separating privileges. I run mine on a thinkpad x230, so it doesn't take a lot to get it running smooth.
Now, it has more tools
I just use another usb drive
great video with systematic steps which are clear and correct.
you should do a crash course for Ethical Hacking with Parrot OS
Good idea Morrison Affel, I've added it to the list of video ideas.
Null Bytes - You are a coool uploader man I 100% respect you. Legend.
--TO anyone needing help verifying GPG sigs on Windows !!! , I did some research. Command prompt, theres a preinstalled tool in cmd
open command prompt>certUtil -hashfile (C:\User\File\Etc\Etc\) ((obviously where the iso or any other file for that matter)

Night Viper how’d you do it?
@@madaranotsoanonymousnowuch1539 easy
just airodump-ng, aireplay-ng and aircrack-ng
buuut... I used mdk3 instead of aireplay-ng
Night Viper damn you sound like a pro, ima noob so that didn’t make much sense but hey some place to start from, thnx.
@@madaranotsoanonymousnowuch1539 LOL
I'm the professional noob
but this is how to do it
first type *airmon-ng* to check your interfaces
then, select one of 'em (usually wlan0 or eth0 [for me, it was wls1])
then type *airmon-ng start * it puts your interface in monitor mode (adds *mon* at the end)
it you also can't use internet, while in monitor mode
for me, I have wls1, so it renamed it to *wls1mon*
then type *airodump-ng * to scan targets
press *ctrl c* to stop it
select your target
then *airodump-ng > file.cap*
leave that open
open new terminal
if u use aireplay-ng, type *aireplay-ng *
you find the AP channel in your airodump-ng window
stop aireplay-ng and airodump-ng, when u see wpa captured in airodump-ng windows
then you can stop monitor mode by *airmon-ng stop *
then you just have to crack the captured file
(that file contains the wifi password, but it's hashed)
in the *airodump-ng* command, up there, the *> file. cap* saves the hash in that file.cap file
Can you make a vid on installing this on a raspberry pi? I know they have the image out there but I'm installing on the raspberry pi 3b. There arent any updated vids anywhere on installing it. Would be nice, thanks!
the typing is powerful! ha. good vid thanks
question: Can i use a NAT Network to perform any commands to my other computer(s)? Also would i need a wifi adapter? finally, on linux if i want to install nipe, tor, etc... does it not work with NAT Network? And what are the differences between NAT and others.
Awesome Videos and Thanks!
What’s the best laptop to be someone’s first allround laptop compartmentalized to learning networking, cyber security, windows, ethical hacking, Linux, Kali, Parrot, youtube and online tutorials and courses, virtual machines etc? Used Thinkpads seem popular, but how much should be spent to get something that’s actually enjoyable to use yet not so valuable that your worried about damaging it in some way with some software that turned out to be malware or something? I’m thinking something at least with a 4th gen i7? others say to use the total you would spend on good one and instead buy multiple low powered cheap computers and use them to hack the others in a lab setup?
Great Vids as always,i started with kali a year back then moved to parrot mate as it seemed more usr friendly compared to kali, ive used parrot mate 32bit then a month or two back they stopped 32bit so a new 2nd hand machine was order of the day fujitsu 3 core i3 8 gig of ram,so i installed the 64bit version and wow amazing, then i had troubles after a update so i was unable to use anonsurf.A week or so back i seen that parrot launched a KDE version of parrot again amazing but the KDE version for me has a few glitches, one is i keep loosing the abilty to drag screen edges and to be honest i got no idea how to get that back, lots of the appearence mods also dont work properly as icon colours and web page look etc...menu bars etc...other than i like the KDE version how ever cos of them few glitches ive reverted back to mate desktop untill the KDE version is sorted out...other than that parrot for me is No 1 OS :-)
anonsurf is buggy sometime, it depends on tor service version and the connection to tor network. We are updating anonsurf, convert it to a system service unit (it will fix issues if users turn system down before turn anonsurf off).
I'll ask our team leader about KDE glitches. Thanks for your information.
Hey there, amazing tutorial. I was wondering if the community might help me with an issue , I have Hyper-V installed, and I managed to install parrot OS, although this works fine, I wanted enchaned session as I have already in Hyper-V with Kali Linux - but I keep getting into different issues, I didn;t see Hyper-V listed, but by any chance they might have curious people that might have tried to make it work ? It's quite annoying - I love Hyper-V as I work on a daily basis on windows with it, but seems that Parrot OS is quite funny at it.
please answer; do you need a physical CD in your cd drive to do this operation?
More of parrot please !
Hello, great video!
Fresh installed on PC(HDD not VM) and I can’t get the wifi to work. My adapter is plugged in, I’m wondering if I need drivers?

In the terminal, your device is shown as Dell-3. Is it a Hackintosh?
really curious
i have parrot as my stock os , i have mon mode on broadcom using wlmonitor.sh injects another iface prism0 allows mon mode without disabling wifi works like a charm, i made it run at boot so i have perm monitor mode.

Hello grub boot loader is not displaying after installing kali linux, directly booting into windows 10 can you help plz
Since I have a 64bit Os. Through VM. Would that change what version or file type I need to download!?
Thanks for this Kody,
Ever thought of doing a premium (Paywalled) course on pentesting/osint?
You'd clean up.
Shhhh!
I've used both kali and been using parrot os for sense 2012 but yea tuts for kali Linux work for parrot there both Debian in fact I think kali owns it and kali eventually adopts things from parrot imo but to me parrot is a lot more comprehensive and functional as a daily driver for me as well
It would be very nice to say a wireless adapter which supports the ParrotSec OS. (The panda pauo6 did not support.) And please leave the link in description.
How to use both in same time, and is it big diffrence to learn both in same time
Please cover GoPhish
Bro.... since you've also recommended the panda pau05 i bought it and used it with parrot OS under VM box. It does go on monitor mode but it does not detect any network of any kind. "No network found." Can you please let me know if this is actually compatible with Parrot OS? Thank you!!

Hey i'm so interest about your videos... I'm using Parrot, Airgeddon with Vmware but it showed me only eth0 but there is not wlan0 and i couldn't find the USB to switch my network to wlan so how to fix it? can you help me?
Downloaded Parrot Security with the MATE interface through the torrent link and their site and it did not include any of the Parrot tools. That section in the menu is gone. Re-downloaded it in my browser instead of torrents and the tools were included this time.

Hi Null Byte!
I unstalled virtualbox and install it again!
So is that possible if i create a virtual machine virtualbox by the old machine source
Thanks! Have a good day Sir!
Cheers Mate!
i made a mistake on this lmao, i wanted to use parrot cause it seemed much better than both mac and windows and when i downloaded i got into the os let it run etc, then i realized i went through 1:30 minutes of downloading and setups just to find out i needed the security version of parrot to use the cyber weapons/tools that came with it plus when i try to use my swcripts in all the command prompts or lines they dont seem to run even with python 3 and pip installed so now i need a new harddrive to process the other os and get what i need
at the part you cut up the installation it makes more questions , like installing gru boot ect

Hmm okay so i installed Kali on my dual core intel Atom laptop thinking it would be fast. I mean... it's fast compared to the win10 it had installed for years.
But after seeing some Parrot video's i think im going to install that instead! Aside from pen-testing and screwing around in the terminal i want it to happend smoothly also..
Everything should be the same right"? Debian vs Debian
It's funny, the part you skipped because it took too much time is the part where I get stuck on my XPS 9360 and was hoping to see. xD
Hello Friend I am having trouble installing software-center in a kali linux xfce
@2:36
I do not understand why we should trust the hash value, when that value is on the same website as the .iso file to be downloaded?
If the web site has been compromised, then I would think that if the attacker provides a link to a counterfit .iso file, then that attacker would also provide a hash that matches his counterfeit .iso file?
The safest way I know of, to ensure that you have downloaded the genuine .iso file, is to download the .iso file from multiple mirrors, and run "fc" (Windows) or "diff" (Linux) to compare the files. Or run your favorite hash algorithm on two or three .iso files that came from different mirrors. If they all match, then you should be in good shape, as long as all of the mirrors have not been compromised, or all of the links to all of the mirrors have not been compromised.
Is there a site that maintains hash values for files?
I would feel much better getting the hash value from a site that is different from the .iso file (as well as not not having a single site directing me to both the .iso file and the hash value).
I would even accept a youtube video where a known representative from the distribution team would reveal the hash from the corresponding .iso file.
Am I missing a step that would allow me to trust a single site for both the .iso file and its hash value?
Thank you.
If the website is compromised, there is nothing much you can do. Someone can alter the ISO and update the md5 accordingly and you can never know.
This whole hashing checksum thing is being done to prevent man in the middle attacks, where you assume website is trustworthy but the network in between is not.
Whats the difference between .OVA and .ISO? Is OVA just a pre-installed version?
