    RED October. Perhaps the greatest run in Oklahoma football-ever.

    I can remember watching this like it was yesterday my favorite OU game. This was the rebirth of the Sooners. I remember my Unlce & Aunt getting into a argument because she was a Texas fan & he was in her face the whole game.

    And the rest of the nation will be awakening tomorrow morning, to the reality of the dominance of this Oklahoma team. 4 and 0, and absolutely for real.

    This 2000 sooners team against the 2005 longhorns team would be a great game to watch since they beat the hell out of the other to win their respective national championships.

    I was delivering pizzas that day, and people were just throwing money at me. I remember going to 3 houses, it was 7-0, then 14-0, then 28-0. I wasn't surprised at all when they won it all.

    This was a great game. Win with class, lose with class. 2013 was a great game for Texas - they kicked our butts when we were expected to win by a landslide.

    Being a native Texan this is one of the instances every year that proves the point that college football is not life-or-death.... it's far more important then that

    This was the first red river shootout game I attended. As a Texas fan I must say that I hated the outcome but it was nevertheless a fun,cold, and rainy experience. I wont forget. My brother and mom wanted to leave but me and my dad(former longhorn defensive end from 1975-1978) decided to support our horns to the end. Boomer13ish has absolutely no class by the way. I would definitely say that both ou and texas are elite programs that are currently struggling and have let baylor and tcu steal the spotlight. Hope both programs meet in the cotton bowl as top 5 teams again. Loved those red river shootout games of the 2000s.

      lol I had to scroll to find what you were talking about and yeah that dude has no class. This is my favorite game every year and I'm ready to see OU and Texas both top five teams meeting again. I'm a huge Sooner fan but when Texas is underachieving it makes the big 12 under achieve as well for one reason or another.

    One of the reasons OU improved so much in this game, over last year was.....#22. Had he played in '99, OU could have well won the game. The improvement of the Defense certainly didn't hurt either lol.

    This was one debacle I’ll never forget and that statement at the 2:17:05 mark explains how bad a day Texas had. Though I was rooting hard for OU, I must admit, that I was shocked by this drubbing.

    From the Mountain-Husker: Congradulations Sooners beating the snot out of Texas.
    My only regret is you didn't shut them out and send thier team to the hospital.
    I used to live in Oklahoma and had the same elementary school teacher as Steve Owens, he visited us when I was in the first grade. It was like God visiting the classroom. GO BIG RED/GO SOONERS!

    Took my dad to the Nebraska game couple weeks later. Everybody stormed the field and tore down the goal post. He said it almost landed on him. Totally oblivious to what was going on. Told me I'll just meet you back at the car next time. He's gone now but, good times.

    Troy was just coming into being a hell of a QB for OU, but he got hurt so he had to set out the rest of the year and then he ended up transferring to UCLA, and there was nothing better to watch than OU run the wishbone, triple option, man could they run that and the speed that they had, it was something to watch and of course none other than Barry himself, to me he was the very best coach that OU had, and the rivalry between OU and Nebraska, and OU and Texas, those were always the games to watch out of any other games, but the QB's, Lott, Watts, Holloway, and Sam of course and Sam could have been a super bowl QB another Brady if the stupid Saint Louis Cardinals had some protection for him but they did not they let him down, they ruined him and his coach was a joke he was a loser

    You said Michigan. Then I would've agreed with you, but after Michigan St beat them, i beg to differ. I will say Michigan is historically unbelievable but now they are overrated. And i wouldn't say those are the only "elite" programs in the country what about Florida St? Like I said before Michigan St? There are plenty more these 2 were the first that pooped into my head. Oh and to Alex Croci : YOU are our little sister.

  • @boomer13ish
    @boomer13ish 11 лет назад +1

    It shows...especially the "sucks dick" part- Dude, don't get bitter. Facts are facts. OU is an "elite" program throughout CFB...ut is a "good" program, fact. Just accept it. You may win every now and again, but you'll never be what Oklahoma football is to CFB. Only ND, Bama, USC, Ohio State, and Michigan can lay claim to what OU is- legendary programs

    • @dadestarmysteries255
      @dadestarmysteries255 4 года назад +1

      Jordan Niko What does that have to do with this game? Yes, A&M won a few against OU, but OU won a lot more against A&M and had several devastating blowouts against them far worse than what happened in 2012. Remember 77-0? We also know OU has had way more success overall than A&M who couldn't even get to the Big 12 championship game the same decade OU won 6.

  • @boomer13ish
    @boomer13ish 11 лет назад

    THE Oklahoma University HAS OWNED OSU FOR 100 YEARS.... You aren't in the same breathe as OU football if your not ND, USC, Ohio State (the real OSU), Alabama, or Michigan... Those are the "elite" programs in the country, and in the history of the sport. Okie state is a......"red-headed step-child" to OU....ROTFL----- 83-17-7, ENOUGH SAID
