    I'm a Tennessee fan and even though OU broke my heart not too long ago lol, I've always had tremendous respect for Oklahoma. Love the fight song, great tradition and the game in Knoxville was an instant classic against 2 programs with proud tradition and history. Good luck to y'all the rest of the year!

      @ccs8053 Rhett was finally getting it together by the end of his first season.. he still did dumb stuff, like spiking the ball at the end of the Oregon game, almost costing us..
      We probably wouldn't have saw Bradford and had his amazing seasons if Bomar hadn't done the dumb stuff he did and got himself kicked off the team

    This shows the Sooner MAGIC that was first noted in my young days when Bud Wilkinson's Sooners were losing late in the 4th quarter and he called on a 4th team running back, Joe Don Looney, to provide the MAGIC with a long touchdown run. Only heard it on radio but still feel the tingle and these winning plays through Stoops years plus Switzer's years and all the others make us Okies believe "it ain't over til it's over" in football and life....

      Joe Don Looney live in my home town , Lawton Oklahoma while he went to Cameron University and played football there. He transfered to OU where he played football and played lights out!

    This Longhorn will miss Bob (although I sure hated that Texas had to play against him every year! haha) A true legend in college football, and was responsible for making the Texas-OU rivalry epic again. Can't wait to see what Riley does to follow him up. Riley v. Herman should be sheer epic-ness for the next 7-10 years

      We had roy williams, strait, marshall, calmus etc. At the same time. Hope we can get back to being dominant on defense like that again. If we can and have riley running our offense then we will be unstoppable. Mike has to go or it will never happen though.

    • @dawsondudark

      Jake Goodnight If college football was the same now as it was in mikes early days, we probably would have a much better defense statistically. My logic is Mike Stoops’ brand of ball was dominant at one point, but for now, he doesn’t have anything to offer

    • @RemoWilliams-go6qr
      @RemoWilliams-go6qr 6 месяцев назад

      Blake would never had Heuple as QB or Mike Leach as an offensive coordinator even Jerry Schmidt made a difference as Blake's best hire was Rex Ryan. Blake brought in some good talent but couldn't field an offense using Brandon Daniels at QB for the wishbone was a big mistake also not letting Dick Winder was another mistake. I can go on Blake was in over his head and wasn't ready to be a head coach he was a good DL coach though. Blake's beat win vs Texas in 1996 30-27.
      Bob Stoops and his staff turned the tide and built a dynasty while other teams negatively recruited Oklahoma.

  • @jimmyerwin6430

    • @allisonmckinney6668
      @allisonmckinney6668 9 лет назад

      As long as he is the coach they will never win another NC. He gets too much credit for winning in 2000 with John Blake's players

    • @jimmyerwin6430
      @jimmyerwin6430 9 лет назад +1

      +Allison McKinney With the name Allison I can assume your a chick so I'll let you know that Bob Stoops has taken the Sooners to the title game a handful of times (not just Blake's players ) Yeah he's only gotten the one win but 5 or 6 trips deserves credit not to mention, what is it 8, 10, 11 Big 12 titles something stupid like that. I'll admit my last prediction was a tad off, but I believe very soon that Bob Stoops will be head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. yall watch and see. j/k about the chick comment.

    • @allisonmckinney6668
      @allisonmckinney6668 9 лет назад

      +Jimmy Erwin I hope you're right about Stoops going to the Cowboys. Then maybe we will another NC. He is 1-3 in NC games. And the NC in 2000 was because of the great players on the team that won it. It didn't matter who the coach was. You and I could of coached that team to a NC

    • @jimmyerwin6430

    • @allisonmckinney6668

  • @jefferystewart5576

    How do you consider some of these game winners when OU was already ahead? Examples: 2001 vs TX they score when they're up 7-3, vs COL they score when they're ahead 27-20. These aren't winners. Clinchers, yes. But to me a game winner is when you score when trailing. But that's just me lol.

    Such great nostalgia it's a true shame we didn't get 2 more Nattys out of all of those great teams year after year just reloading with MAYBE one year as a true exception. The loss to LSU ON THE FUGING Road down @ the Sugar Bowl where we FINALLY tired out LSU's defensive front 7 and had a 1st and goal after gashing them with the run the whole way down the field only to STOP RUNNING THE BALL??!?!? WHY??? The worst part is WE STILL WOULD HAVE WON IF JASON CHOKE ARTIST WHITE DIDN'T OVER THROW A WIDE OPEN Kejuan Jones! Although, TBF, the touch throw required to hit the wide open Kejuan was WAYYY more difficult of a throw than it looked. That all said WE LITERALLY GAVE LSU & THE DEMONIC ELF, Nick Saban, what SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR NATIONAL TITLE #8!!!
