Hi, I just discovered your channel tonight. You have so many delicious recipes and your presentation is so relaxing and beautiful ! I cannot wait to try this one and several more of your recipes! I would like to try this recipe, but I thinkI may add a little corn to it. I am in the American Southwest region, Mexican food has become an American standard here for most people. What country are you based in. After scanning your videos, I am guessing maybe India, the UK or Australia maybe? I am asking because my favorite Indian dish is Gobi Masala. I tried preparing it, but the sauce came out too thin. I think maybe because I used lowfat yogurt, not sure. I live in a community with a lot of people from India, we have a lot if Indian Cash and Carry markets. Ok, ty so very much, SUBBED ! 🤗⚘🤗⚘🤗⚘

Hi. Thanks much for liking my channel. I am actually from Oklahoma but now live in Kentucky and part time alaska. I am originally from Bangladesh. I love to cook many region. I love to cook and eat. So you will find many different food here. Gobi masala is a really good dish. I think i have something similar. I just called cauliflower curry i think. Lol. I do have a really good tikka masala. You can just substitute cauliflower for sure. I hope that can help. Low fat yogurt shouldn’t effect that much.
Thanks again for being here and subbing my channel. That means a lot.

@@BrownGirlsKitchen , oh, ok kool ! 🥳 My grandfather was born in Oklahoma, and my husband was born in Montana near the Canadian border, but he was RAISED in Oklahoma (Enid and Waukomis). We have lots of Bengalis here, I have met some very nice Bengalis myself. Last year, while shopping at a large Chinese market, a man from India asked me where he could get small fish because this store did not have any. While chatting, he told me that he was Bengali, I told him there are at least 2 Bengali Cash and Carry stores just blocks away and one of them is Halal. He was surprised that I knew about this, he asked me did I like Indian food, I replied, YES !" He then asked me why lol ? It was funny yo me, because most people who have eaten it will always LIKE A FEW Indian dishes. Unlike Chinese foos Indian food has yet to be introduced to non Indians in an EFFECTIVE way. The Chinese immigrants really researched WHICH dishes are popular with non Chinese people, and then FOCUSED ON THOSE SPECIFIC dishes and it was a success ! CERTAIN popular dishes of a homeland may be UNPOPULAR to foreigners.
Because Indians have been living in the UK for centuries now, AND because native British "food" is HORRIFIC, Indian food (likely any other cuisine as well) was desperately needed ! I don't think most people would refer to British food as a "cuisine" nor a novelty of any kind. It has no seasonings and no imagination. So Indian food gives the UK a reason to go out to dinner.
Here in the USA, Indian food needs to be introduced with dishes that are popular to non Indians. I have a friend from Gujarat. I told him, my favorite Indian dish is Gobi Masala. I told him that I only know one restaurant that sells it. He said because it is NOT a favorite for Indians. I was dumbfounded by this. Here is something that I find delectable, but Indian people are not "impressed" by it. On Christmas Day, he came over to my house and graciously brought me some Samosas. Although, I found them tasty, I also found the seasonings were not for the "adventurous" person's palate. The seasonings for Samosas are NOT a universal flavor. Although the seasonings COULD be adjusted to appeal to non Indians. These are examples of what I was saying about Indians should research, and do taste surveys of Indian dishes USING NON Indians, to learn which dishes will be the most profitable. Did you know that "fried rice, egg foo young, sweet and sour pork (the modern version is orange chicken) chop suey," ARE NOT CHINESE FOOD? All of these dishes are Chinese-AMERICAN food, created by Chinese immigrants. What we in America call "chile" (a red stew made with meat and beans) is NOT Mexican food. Mexicans refer to "chili" as a vegetable pepper and only as a pepper. Burritos are also Tex-Mex food created in America. Burritos are made from FLOUR tortillas, made of wheat grains. Wheat cannot grow anywhere in Mexico, so burritos are "Tex-Mex." Also, Mexican food has two basic sauces, red and green. Most Americans hate the green sauce, but most Mexicans prefer the green. Most non Mexicans prefer crispy fried tacos, but Mexicans prefer soft shell (not crispy) "street," tacos.
I think that it is a shame that this delicious Indian foods are still a "secret" from most of the world at thia point. But until enough Indians are motivated to REINTRODUCE their MOST UNIVERSALLY APPEALING dishes ie ; Tandoori Chicken, Gobi Masala, Mango Lassis, mild curries, and adjusting the seasonings to a more universal "flavor profile" Indian food will not experience further growth beyond where it is today. Which is to everyone's disadvantage. It is just too delicious to stay "scarce" in America.
I love going to these Indian markets, before I moved here, I would drive 40 miles (80 miles round trip) to shop here at these stores. I started coming here way back in 1993 ! I never realized that I would move to this area, but it is very quiet. Although, like most Californians I want to move out of this state for a long list of reasons.
I have seen gobi prepared "dry" and also "wet." I prefer it wet with a yellow or red sauce. Well, yoyr channel is VERY ENTICING and very INTERESTING , so full of surprises ! Most cooking channels seem to feature similar recipes or focus on one type of cuisine, you have mastered them all, and make them look so effortless ! I don't know how you have time for anything else ! I'm sure yoir family loves the final "rewards" 😛🍽 of your labor !
