    On this weeks Video
we check out the Tickford series 3 TS50 with the ESS steering wheel buttons :)
Since driving the manual TE50 a few months ago.. i've been very keen to try a TS50 with the ESS buttons..
The buttons may be a bit of a gimmick but the car is pure joy to drive! This particular one in Venom red was in amazing condition and drove like new.. I especially love the bodykits on these series 3 tickfords.. they really do look like old V8 Supercars on the road..

@@RossReviewsau ....oh yeah. The TS is based on the Fairmont hence the more classy interior. I wanted one but I was not in the financial position. I did have an AU3 SR Falcon that I thought about putting on a TS/TE body kit as well as mags but I sold the car, which was a top highway cruiser. Awesome comfort. I have gone up and down the Stuart Highway a few times. In a Corolla, 97 Camry V6, Falcon, Mitsubishi DB2 380 SX....that was nice and this last week in my Kia Optima for which I have done the Stuart Highway (and connecting highways) to Darwin and south down to Adelaide and Port Lincoln a few times.
But being in central Oz and want to do a grand fishing tour, it maybe time to get a ute. Though I'd still love to buy an FGX XR6 non-turbo.

I have a te50 t3, narooma blue, so i suppose biased. I love the look of these t3 but also acquired one simply due to the low numbers and uniqueness. Just to cover, last windsor blocks imported to australia, only hand built bored blueprinted balanced and signed engines made by ford, fastest pushrod v8 ever made by ford inc the phase 3, lowest body kit ever approved by ford in the world, last tickfords made, 1st ford with brembo brake package and a sweet ride to match. And what an engine note! Unique, rare and good a great moment in Australian car manufacturing thats now lost forever!

The Au is awesome, I own one in the 6. I've owned all the E series models of the single overhead cam and I am so impressed with the Au. I've owned mine for 7 years, been very happy with it. Pros: nice wide car, some serious space inside, nice big wheels standard, very comfortable and quiet. The dash is not cluttered and it has easy to work controls. Materials used are higher quality than newer imported junk. I drove a kia hire car once, and it felt like it had a lawn mower engine in it compared to my Au 6, and it was so cramped inside. A very underrated model the Au, some further refinements of the earlier ones.

Great review Ross. I think another reason why the T3 handle so good compared to the BA boss (other than the better suspension and IRS) is that the stroker engine is lighter and sits a lot lower in the engine bay and also pushed further back towards the rear of the car, making it almost mid-engine compared to the BA.

    • @RossReviewsau

Another enjoyable review. As a teenager who some how supported Ford during the AU-era, I'd agree that this was the most special AU ever made. The AU2+ XR8 was decent but these were the first AU series that properly took it up to the HSVs. Interesting about the reason for the name as I'd always wondered what it stood food. Pity they didn't call it the TS56, though.
(oh and I agree that the AU1 was hideous but slowly improved with AU2 and AU3. It was never beautiful but it ended up looking OK)

G'day Jon again......LOVE THE AU....They have become one of the great Falcons ...They have character , they have a 'up yours' attitude to the detractors and they have stood the test of time better than most other models . I recall seeing a dyno test of a TS 50 V8 a while back and some of the U.S comments made you think that they believed the AU was current when it had been out of production then by about a decade . The 4.0 inline 6 is essentially unkillable too . They torture it time and again and it just keeps going . .Thanks so much ..

Best looking front on the AU. I had a 5 litre and in terms of handling the only thing I did was put in Koni yellows and it handled insane good. The weak point in handling was the seat.

    • @RossReviewsau
      @RossReviewsau  3 года назад

Thanks for sharing yes the underneath of these AUs was actually a far superior car more than anything else on the road at the time.. it was just the looks that scared a lot of people off..

Hey Ross, perfect two tone interior match for the bright red exterior. Well done.
What the car makes me think....Ford Australia looked at the American Taurus, Hold my beer, this is how it's done......SPANK!
    Great job Ross.

      Epic indeed.
      Looks, power, comfy,
That 5.7lt Callaway was a monster,
Not many saloons had 400hp 510nm that could give a super car a decent run.
Then the Phoon 🥰 what a gorgeous car and able to match or beat even 911 turbo from 80kph.
The T series was like a angry child that wasn't loved enough.
It screamed for attention and got it 10yrs to late.
