Someone has to be convicted of a crime in court to be declared guilty of that crime. If the news report says they commited a crime before they receive a guilty verdict, the "alleged criminal" can sue the news channel for libel/defamation. Even if they're caught on camera, The accused person is still considered innocent until proven guilty.
