This is priceless. I must have watched it fifty times. It wasn't easy. But I could recreate the same effect. Thank you.

I just want to thank you so much for your video. It is very well explained and the pace was perfect for me.
I was able to reproduce the step with Gimp and Kdenlive (Ubuntu)
I also love you British accent, I don't recognize from which part of England but it is very classy :) .
    Thanks a lot !

Absolutely Excellent. I use Davinci Resolve16 and Premiere but had to learn Shotcut today. Great tutorial. Thank you.

Meanwhile, I want to switch to DR from Shotcut, but found it crashing quite often and the learning curve is still a lot. Do you still use it, would you be interested in giving me some tips?

This is very helpful, what a bonus: lots of stuff I didn't know about Shotcut, and lots of stuff I didn't know about GIMP! I use Shotcut every day, with keyframes and a good proxy system there isn't a lot it cannot do. Thanks again, very much appreciated!

I couldn't agree more. Great pedagogical approach, paired with great technical knowledge and impeccable delivery. My jaw is still on the floor. I can't wait to check out the rest of Mr. @Jonray JR 's work.

Hey Jonray JR! thanks for this really clear tutorial.
I've spent several hours following it to create a "Base" from which to personalise my eCards this year!
Really impressed with this my first effort in both Shotcut and GIMP!
Can you tell me if it is possible for me to create the same "Write-on" effect using my own signature which I have in transparency formats as GIF; bmp; and psd?
    ...and how it's done!

Very fascinating... I probably just would have used OBS or something to record myself writing in Gimp on a green background, and use this recording in shotcut with a chroma key. That would only give you an appropriate result if you're good at calligraphy, so your approach is much more feasible. I wonder though if there is a way to automate applying the gradient to the text though, so that the gradient follows the lines...

Great tutorial. But I'm kinda facing a little problem when I customize the transition the text doesn't show well. It's like some parts of it have been wiped out. Can anyone help me out, please?

this is pretty cool, but wouldn’t it be more natural to write left to right? you could just invert the gradient
