Great to see you enjoyed our video. That would be ideal, in most other vans they have the option to replace the seats in front with swiveling seats that can face backwards when not traveling. However, the L300 FB is basically a driver's cab and the body is structurally a completely separate unit, and the engine is right under the driver's seat and the middle seat. There is also a 3-inch gap between the body and the cab, which will take a lot of material to close off. Besides, we are very tall people who would rather just use the doors for access.
@@ZaraMayBaluyot Thank you po so much for watching and for appreciating our hard work. We have since completed the build, with operational water systems in place. You can watch the newer van tour video here: ruclips.net/video/EJ7NISTBevc/видео.htmlsi=XIguYrB7QX-b3C8C
Thank you, ka-eltri! These L300s are built to last, and very reliable in transporting cargo for long distances. Then because they are everywhere, you can easily get spare parts and mechanics are familiar with L3 repairs everywhere you go in the Philippines. Those reasons are why we chose to buy an L300 to convert into a campervan. Ours is actually a custom high roof build that used a 2012 cab and chassis. So technically the front is 11 years old, but the body is turning 3 years old.
Never namin napag-usapan noon until may malaking trahedyang dumating sa buhay namin. My 2nd pregnancy was super high risk. One day, on bed rest, may nakita akong photos ng vanlife. Pinakita ko sa asawa ko. Dun namin narealize na pareho pala naming pangarap yun. Then we lost our baby. While mourning our loss, habang nakaconfine ako sa ospital, nakakita ulit kami ng vanlife photos. Narealize namin, maikli lang ang buhay, you never know how much more time you have to pursue your dreams. Ito na yung chance namin, and we took it. We built this van in honor of our second daughter.
Looks good guy's I have travelled around my country uk in a van i have visited the Philippines many times. Is it difficult finding places to camp overnight? I don't think there's a lot of campsites in the Philippines. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! Vanlife is relatively new here in the Philippines so it is not easy to find actual campsites that have water and electricity hookups, proper sewage disposal, etc. Campsites have sprung up everywhere since the pandemic restrictions had eased up a bit, though most charge a reasonable fee for basic necessities, to more expensive glamping packages. We just search for campsites at Google maps, look for them on Facebook to see what reviews they have, and see if they suit our needs. If they allow car campers (more popular here), they should have no problem accepting campervans. There is also a brand new car camping/vanlife app here created by a local camping enthusiast that helps campers book campsites.
The cargo area is not factory stock because the box was custom fabricated with a higher roof that can allow a 5'8" person like me to stand up inside without ducking. Such a high roof L300 is rare--I have seen only 4 others so far. The cargo area was created by putting a windbreaker on top of the driver's cab and opened up the wall from the box to the windbreaker.
@@drsaadkashem9087 Yes, it is safe, but of course we shouldn't be too careless. We never park or leave the van in a remote or secluded area. We only camp at designated campsites. It is best to be streetsmart, never leave valuables in plain sight, and be able to defend yourself if need arises. My wife knows aikido and my daughter does taekwondo.
hov is the Law abouth living fuldtime in Campervan in Philipphines? I have ben thinking of moving to the Philipphine and would love to drive around fore some years before i find the right place to settel down....im from Denmark..
Hello. There are very few full-time vanlifers here. Because it is still a novel concept, there are no laws against it as far as we know. For staying overnight in public places, the issue would be safety. When not at a campsite, many opt to get permission from the local authorities to stay in front of their building overnight (Barangay Hall). Do get in touch with us if you do come here, we can show you around.
Hello. Very good questions. The original owner we bought the van from had the entire body fabricated and custom built as a PWD vehicle with a very heavy wheelchair ramp we had to remove. The undercarriage looks different (a lot more fortified) from the usual L300, so it seems that there were upgrades even before we bought it. The suspensions have held up for almost 2 years but may need maintenance. Instead of solar, we have a DIY leisure battery system, which is basically a 2nd car battery that charges through the van's alternator when the engine is running. An automatic split charge relay switch allows charging only when the voltage on the main van battery is fully charged, to prevent the 2nd battery from pulling charge from the first battery. The 2nd battery is connected to a 3000W pure sine wave inverter for our electronic devices. The advantages of a leisure battery over solar is that you can park in the shade--with solar you'll have to park in the sun unless your panels are portable. Secondly, it costs half the price of an entire solar setup. You can check out our videos where we explain how the system works and how we installed it.

Excellent point maam. Weight can be a real issue, that is why planning the build is important. Not only of the structures and furnitures, but also the total weight of passengers. You have to start with a van that is fuel efficient and is built to carry that much weight. This is why we chose the L300-- because it is widely used as a cargo vehicle for businesses hauling goods all over the country because it is economical. Originally custom built as a PWD van with a very heavy wheelchair ramp, ours was specially fabricated with supports underneath. Then the materials should be as lightweight but strong as possible. But in the long run, the extra diesel consumed still pays off considering how much we save having our own accommodations while on the road. We have gone off grid for weeks na food and fuel lang ginastos--you can't do that at hotels or AirBnBs. Campsites also typically cost less than AirBnBs. For us, money spent traveling is a well-spent investment as long as we are able to work online remotely. Most people spend a fortune driving or riding public transport to work and paying rent or mortgage on houses. That's still more than what we spend as vanlifers on a daily basis. Although to be honest, when the diesel was about to hit P100 per liter, umaray din kami.
I (Bing) am 5'8" and I can stand straight in there. Paul is 6'2" and has to duck just a little, which is why he personally prefers the murphy bed down so he can just sit anywhere on the bed without having to duck his head down. The usual L300s however have lower roofs. Ours is a custom high roof.
@@MAI-js8iy Actually it was the original owner who had it custom built with high roof and side door, with wheelchair ramp for PWD access. It was hardly used after that because the PWD patient died and never even got to see the van. We bought it at P475,000, which was what the original owner had paid to buy the cab and chassis and custom fabricated to his specifications. So this is a very unique vehicle.
It's smaller than most commercially available vans (2mx1m floor space in between kitchen counter and sofa), but it fits our small family's needs at the moment. Bigger families might not fit especially with growing kids. When our daughter grows up, she might prefer a rooftop tent.
We are supposed to build a composting toilet at the back, opposite the closet, but for the moment we are using a portable one that is collapsible. We also have a funnel-shaped female urinal that lets us girls pee into plastic bottles so we can dispose off more easily. As for our shower, right now we are building a gravity-fed water system mounted onto our new custom roof rack, capable of holding 80L, to serve both kitchen sink and shower. The shower will be located at the back, with the shower stall pulling out from the roof rack. We will post that video soon so please watch out for that.
We saw the van being sold on FB Marketplace. This is a rare find because it was custom fabricated for use to transport a PWD on a wheelchair (it came with a wheelchair ramp). To turn it into a campervan, we did almost all the carpentry work ourselves.
When we shot this van tour update, we did not have our gravity water system yet. Since then we have built an 80L gravity fed water system for our bathing and washing needs. We can now wash clothes in our sink and hang it up to dry outdoors or, if we need to drive with the laundry not yet dry, we just hang them inside the van on our curtain rods (they dry more in the wind when we are driving--spin dry! Hehe.) Most of the time though we wash clothes wherever we fill up our water containers because we don't want to use up too much of our supply nor leave the campsite muddy. Respect na din for the next campers after us.
We bought this secondhand sa Facebook Marketplace. Yung original owner ang nagpacustom build ng high roof with side door (and wheelchair ramp for PWD).
Budget is P800,000, including secondhand van. After that video may dinagdag na rin po kaming DIY gravity fed water system para sa sink and outdoor shower.
Thanks for your question. Right now we use it both as a personal vehicle and travel accommodation. But we have experienced living in it for 5 months in my parents' garage while we paused building--because we needed to figure out the logistics of tiny space living and tweak our design as needed. The plan is to live in it while traveling full time when our build is complete.
Lol, you are absolutely right. It is messy. We won't lie to you. It takes a lot of effort to keep this thing clean, especially on the beach. That is the reality of our situation. We try to remove all the clutter to get good videos, but honestly, in a tiny space, and our van is still under construction, we have random odds and ends that are almost impossible to situate properly. Hoping to be a bit more aesthetic next time.
That's interesting. We never thought of that. We actually bought the van because we love that it has a door like that, like a house with a front door. It might not work for other people but it works for us.
Ang budget is P800,000. At the moment, we have a new van tour video where natapos na po yung gravity water system with sink and shower pero di pa namin nalagyan ng solar setup.
You'd be pleasantly surprised. We put layers of insulation on our walls, ceiling, and floor before we put the finishing surfaces, so that even in direct sun, it stays cool. No need for aircon (we have dual aircon but we don't use it). With our windows open and fan on, we have great ventilation at all times. It's so much cooler than inside our house, that we prefer to hang out inside the van these days.
@@alphasang886 We bought our van secondhand on FB marketplace. The former owner had the body custom fabricated with a high roof and side door (and wheelchair ramp for PWD use). Then we made all the other carpentrywork, fiberglassing, artwork, etc. We used layers of 10mm insulation foam (they come in rolls, sold per meter).
@@markanthonysalise5914 P475,000 secondhand, but that also includes side door and wheelchair ramp, aside from high roof. Baka mas mura if high roof only. Buy the cab and chassis and have the body custom built with high roof.
Thanks for watching po. Actually po, ang fiberglass composite LPG is much safer kaysa Superkalan. It's a newer technology galing Norway, at ganito mga gamit nila sa Europe. Ang ordinary metal LPG tanks po kasi ay sumasabog under extreme heat like pag may sunog. At dahil metal, madaling kalawangin after a few years.
So we heard, thanks to a concerned viewer who told us about it. Thankfully, she was always outside the van when we use the vaporizer (she loves being outdoors). We only use the vaporizer during sunset when the mosquitoes are out, and the dog is not in the van. By bedtime, we don't need it anymore because the mosquitoes are gone, and because the dog's "bedroom" is under the main bed, it is almost completely sealed off from any lingering essential oil in the air. In reality, we had the vaporizer longer than the dog.
Kung natry nyo na magcamp sa beach, you will understand what I mean. Masestress kayo kakapagpag ng buhangin. Dati kasi nung gumagamit kami ng bedsheets, maya't maya need magpalit at maglaba dahil ang daling madumihan. We don't need that kind of stress in our lives. NGAYON ALAM NYO NA.
Oh no, we didn't know that. It's a good thing our dog likes to stay outside most of the time, and we use the vaporizer only during sunset when the mosquitoes come out. Later in the evening they disappear. Thank you for the info. We'll make sure our dog will not inhale it.
Ay sorry po at salamat sa feedback. Pinay po ako but I am only one-third of our vanlife family channel, together with my American husband and Fil-Am child. Our channel language is set to English kasi we have an international audience po, not just Pinoys. We have subscribers from the US, Canada, the UK, Nicaragua, and Indonesia whom we did not want to alienate by speaking in Tagalog. Especially noong nagsimula kami puro taga US halos ang nanonood sa amin. My husband still has a hard time understanding Tagalog and if you watch our videos, sya po mostly yung nagsasalita. Nagkataon lang for this video ay hinayaan nya ako magsalita sa van tour. But we do value your suggestion so we will try to do our next van tours in both English and Tagalog versions para mas maintindihan nga naman ng lahat. God bless you po.
Maraming salamat kabayan. Panoorin nyo po dito yung bagong van tour: ruclips.net/video/EJ7NISTBevc/видео.htmlsi=JkftNGTHx59TA3V0
Grabe. Haha. Parang damay lahat ng vanlifers. Lol. Sa katunayan right now we are building a water system na kaya 80L of water for shower and lababo para kahit hindi kami magbook sa campsite pwede kaming maligo kahit saan basta may water source. With this lifestyle, diskarte ang kailangan.
@@frankfernandez8215 Sir, in the vanlife community, a "bedroom" is sometimes loosely used to refer to a sleeping space, whether enclosed by walls and doors or not. RVers and house dwellers of course have a different definition.

Those reasons are why we chose to buy an L300 to convert into a campervan. Ours is actually a custom high roof build that used a 2012 cab and chassis. So technically the front is 11 years old, but the body is turning 3 years old.
Build up soon.....
This is one of my dream too
Never namin napag-usapan noon until may malaking trahedyang dumating sa buhay namin.

@@chinoyhealingfoodstravels8888 Salamat po for watching. Mabuhay!
Where did you buy your portable toilet. Nice
It's from Naturehike. We bought it at EZCamp Outdoors Hub in Cabuyao, Laguna. They also sell through Shopee.
This is so cool! 😍
Thank you po for watching. 😊
Wow really nice! Is the cargo area that tall from factory?
The cargo area is not factory stock because the box was custom fabricated with a higher roof that can allow a 5'8" person like me to stand up inside without ducking. Such a high roof L300 is rare--I have seen only 4 others so far. The cargo area was created by putting a windbreaker on top of the driver's cab and opened up the wall from the box to the windbreaker.

Is it safe in Philippines to travel in van
@@drsaadkashem9087 Yes, it is safe, but of course we shouldn't be too careless. We never park or leave the van in a remote or secluded area. We only camp at designated campsites. It is best to be streetsmart, never leave valuables in plain sight, and be able to defend yourself if need arises. My wife knows aikido and my daughter does taekwondo.
nice ang ganda ng setup
Thank you for watching po. Glad you like it.
hov is the Law abouth living fuldtime in Campervan in Philipphines? I have ben thinking of moving to the Philipphine and would love to drive around fore some years before i find the right place to settel down....im from Denmark..
Hello. There are very few full-time vanlifers here. Because it is still a novel concept, there are no laws against it as far as we know. For staying overnight in public places, the issue would be safety. When not at a campsite, many opt to get permission from the local authorities to stay in front of their building overnight (Barangay Hall). Do get in touch with us if you do come here, we can show you around.
Thank you so muts for ansver.I will folow your page.Stay in touch👍😊
Question: Is there any Upgrades regarding the Suspensions, undercarriage❓
Do you have Solar Power Supply❓

Nice van
Thank you for watching! Glad you like it.
Nice setup, except that there's too much wood na mabigat. Mas malakas kain ng fuel, but it's ok kung money is not an issue 😉
Is the roof above head?
I (Bing) am 5'8" and I can stand straight in there. Paul is 6'2" and has to duck just a little, which is why he personally prefers the murphy bed down so he can just sit anywhere on the bed without having to duck his head down. The usual L300s however have lower roofs. Ours is a custom high roof.
@@filamstagram oh so u custom made the roof. Nice , thats a good makeshift. Hm overall cost?
@@MAI-js8iy Actually it was the original owner who had it custom built with high roof and side door, with wheelchair ramp for PWD access. It was hardly used after that because the PWD patient died and never even got to see the van. We bought it at P475,000, which was what the original owner had paid to buy the cab and chassis and custom fabricated to his specifications. So this is a very unique vehicle.
Overall budget for the van is P800,000. We haven't reached that limit yet.
Nice❤
Thanks for watching! 😊
Inner leant size of room
It's smaller than most commercially available vans (2mx1m floor space in between kitchen counter and sofa), but it fits our small family's needs at the moment. Bigger families might not fit especially with growing kids. When our daughter grows up, she might prefer a rooftop tent.
Please details post your washroom
We are supposed to build a composting toilet at the back, opposite the closet, but for the moment we are using a portable one that is collapsible. We also have a funnel-shaped female urinal that lets us girls pee into plastic bottles so we can dispose off more easily. As for our shower, right now we are building a gravity-fed water system mounted onto our new custom roof rack, capable of holding 80L, to serve both kitchen sink and shower. The shower will be located at the back, with the shower stall pulling out from the roof rack. We will post that video soon so please watch out for that.
cool😊😊
Thank you for watching!
Where to buy?
We saw the van being sold on FB Marketplace. This is a rare find because it was custom fabricated for use to transport a PWD on a wheelchair (it came with a wheelchair ramp). To turn it into a campervan, we did almost all the carpentry work ourselves.
How do you do the laundry? 😅😊
Saan ninyo yan maam pinagawa?
We bought this secondhand sa Facebook Marketplace. Yung original owner ang nagpacustom build ng high roof with side door (and wheelchair ramp for PWD).
Hello, Andrea! Happy to have met you.
Wow ganda magkano nagastos po
Budget is P800,000, including secondhand van. After that video may dinagdag na rin po kaming DIY gravity fed water system para sa sink and outdoor shower.
Do you live in the van or do you only use it for traveling on vacation?
Thanks for your question. Right now we use it both as a personal vehicle and travel accommodation. But we have experienced living in it for 5 months in my parents' garage while we paused building--because we needed to figure out the logistics of tiny space living and tweak our design as needed. The plan is to live in it while traveling full time when our build is complete.
Niceeeeeeee
Thank you po for watching!
It looks dirty and messy inside but it's cool in outside.

Better to Convert it to a sliding door
That's interesting. We never thought of that. We actually bought the van because we love that it has a door like that, like a house with a front door. It might not work for other people but it works for us.
Hm po ngastos nyo?
Ang budget is P800,000. At the moment, we have a new van tour video where natapos na po yung gravity water system with sink and shower pero di pa namin nalagyan ng solar setup.
I cant imagine the heat inside your vehicle.
@@filamstagram mind if i ask where did you get it? And what kind of insulation you are using?
@@alphasang886 We bought our van secondhand on FB marketplace. The former owner had the body custom fabricated with a high roof and side door (and wheelchair ramp for PWD use). Then we made all the other carpentrywork, fiberglassing, artwork, etc. We used layers of 10mm insulation foam (they come in rolls, sold per meter).
@@filamstagram planning to buy an L300 or an H300 and have the ceilings heightened. May I know how much you bought this modified L300? Thanks!
@@markanthonysalise5914 P475,000 secondhand, but that also includes side door and wheelchair ramp, aside from high roof. Baka mas mura if high roof only. Buy the cab and chassis and have the body custom built with high roof.
nka delikado yun lutuan mo dpat superkalan nlng
Thanks for watching po. Actually po, ang fiberglass composite LPG is much safer kaysa Superkalan. It's a newer technology galing Norway, at ganito mga gamit nila sa Europe. Ang ordinary metal LPG tanks po kasi ay sumasabog under extreme heat like pag may sunog. At dahil metal, madaling kalawangin after a few years.
Vaporizer and essential oils can makes dogs sick
So we heard, thanks to a concerned viewer who told us about it. Thankfully, she was always outside the van when we use the vaporizer (she loves being outdoors). We only use the vaporizer during sunset when the mosquitoes are out, and the dog is not in the van. By bedtime, we don't need it anymore because the mosquitoes are gone, and because the dog's "bedroom" is under the main bed, it is almost completely sealed off from any lingering essential oil in the air. In reality, we had the vaporizer longer than the dog.
@@filamstagram i threw all those essential oil things after I learned what it does to dogs, scary.
eeew walang bed sheet hahaha kadiri matulog
Pwede po namang lagyan ng bedsheet, gaya ng ginagawa namin noon, pero dahil nasa beach kami at may kasama kaming dog na di marong magpagpag ng paws before going in, mas madaling pagpagin ang buhangin pag leatherette cushion ang surface na dinidisinfect namin lagi with benzalkonium chloride unlike bedsheets na napakadaling madumihan. Kung natry nyo na magcamp sa beach, you will understand what I mean. Masestress kayo kakapagpag ng buhangin. Dati kasi nung gumagamit kami ng bedsheets, maya't maya need magpalit at maglaba dahil ang daling madumihan. We don't need that kind of stress in our lives. NGAYON ALAM NYO NA.
emotional damage.... van fire...😅
Hahaha. I'm not sure what you mean but it sounds hilarious. I'll laugh with you.
Citronella is bad for dogs :(
Oh no, we didn't know that. It's a good thing our dog likes to stay outside most of the time, and we use the vaporizer only during sunset when the mosquitoes come out. Later in the evening they disappear. Thank you for the info. We'll make sure our dog will not inhale it.
tagalog pls ur pilipino
Magtagalog ka nalang ma'am mas bagay Sayo pag tagalog
Maraming salamat kabayan. Panoorin nyo po dito yung bagong van tour: ruclips.net/video/EJ7NISTBevc/видео.htmlsi=JkftNGTHx59TA3V0
cguro ganyang life style ambaho nyo n cguro nd gaanu nkakaligo araw araw hehehe
Grabe.
