    would like to see what the teak looks like after it dries. Most teak looks nice when wet but different when dry

    Am I right in thinking that Teak like all wood has a grain, and when you clean it you should scrub only with the grain and not against it? So as not to push dirt deeper into the fibres of the wood. Some people say only scrub across the boards so as to preserve the resin that seals the individual boards.

    Have no fears! This stuff really is as quick and easy to apply and as effective as this video shows. The finished teak looks really good when it dries. Finish the job with Semco sealer and that’s it for the season. You need good ventilation while using it. And yes, best to settle down with a cuppa tea before watching the video or doing the job!

    I use s soft soap, preferably organic made from vegetable oil but not coconut oil, and warm water solution. About 100:1 water to soap. I then I take a soft brush using a light circular motion. Then rinse with salt water. My 30 year old decks stay nice and healthy looking for under $10 a year.

      Hi, why salt water and what proportion?

  • @knutknutsen5610

    I've used similar 2 component products.
    It is just a treatment of base and acid, not too hard concentrated.
    The teak is brightened or bleached as a result, and looks quite ok, but there is not question that it wears om the wood with caulking protruding.
    Next you manage to pull out the caulkings by just walking on a deck like that, and then you have the water working its way down.

    Nice clean & bleach product. You should have put some wood under the far table legs to make the water run the opposite way ;)

    Is the music Suppose to make me happy or annoyed

    • @ravenblakk8403
      @ravenblakk8403 6 лет назад +1

      Jhnmor I agree. The type of music that companies use these days are targeted towards the hipster/millennials generation. It is very annoying and I just end up ignoring those companies all together.

      As a musician I would say the music is not that bad for what it is - something that was clearly created for 5 year olds.:) Since there's no voice-over, best to turn it down.

      I’m in La Paz. This is what I do: I use s soft soap, preferably organic made from vegetable oil but not coconut oil, and warm water solution. About 100:1 water to soap. I then take a soft brush using a light circular motion. Then rinse with salt water. My 30 year old decks stay nice and healthy looking for under $10 a year. I also cover them from the harsh Mexican sun if I’m going to be away from the boat for any period of time. Hope this helps.

      As somebody else said...the brandname treatment is just that..a brand. You can buy Sodium hydroxide and hypochlorite quite cheaply and dilute is as appropriate and it will be exactly the same as these products. Branded products really hate putting the active ingredients on their labels as it gives consumers a freehand to make the product themselves at a massively reduced cost.
