Thanks for sharing. Have you compared them side by side? I still see a difference even with the latest firmware. Having said that all my quads are now on the vista as that’s what my frames support now.
What about the temperature issue? Or signal rates? What do you suggest based on your opinion? dji air unit or caddx vista or maybe nebula pro? thank you
@@DenizhanHaznedar I haven't had any temperature issues while flying. If you have the space on your frame, the original air unit is still the best. Having said that, I have moved all my kwads over to the Caddx Vista + Nebula Pro over the last year due to the size and weight savings.
Switching to the digital system soon. Ordered a Vista for the freestyle quad and air unit for the long range build. I think the air unit has 2 antennas as it uses up and down link to the goggles better than the vista. Think the Vista will be better at being behind trees and buildingams if your further away. Great video, very factual and details that hell making the right descision.
Thanks bud. Still amazing what the vista can achieve considering its size. Hopefully they'll release a v2 with the same video quality of the air unit in the future.
I wonder how much of a weight difference it would make. Nothing stops you from using crossfire now anyway. Suspect we're not going to save more than a couple of grams by removing it.
Just picked up the BetaFPV 95X with Caddx Vista in it. Boy that little sucker gets hot! Was just 'binding' my googles and remote controller and pushing the little button on the Caddx Vista burnt the tips of my fingers. Definitely something to keep in mind when laying this thing down somewhere. Thanks for the review...

Hello everybody, is anyone know how to wire menu board into vista polar ? Cause i want to restore factory settings for vista. Please show me where to wire . Thank you so much.
Good point on cables/colors/connectors but, apart from weight savings and loss of on board recording, I was under the impression that the CADDZ Vista IS a LARGER/LOW LIGHT sensor for LOW LIGHT operation/FPV/video! Am I wrong? (i.e the markets) are: a) lighter/more flight performance b)significantly better LOW LIGHT performance (NOT DEMONSTRATED HERE!) vs better WELL LIT performance AND 'onboard recording as well as slighty better TX performance (in certain environments) from TWO antennae! (Cameras/sensors ARE different! Right?)
It depends on which version of the Vista you purchased. Originally (and at the time this video was made), the cameras were identical and actually the same camera you get from DJI. Since then they released the Nebula Pro which is nearly identical except for the size and weight. Both are 1/3" sensors, f2.1, with the same field of view. You may be thinking of the cameras that have since come out like the Caddx Polar that are supposed to have better night time performance. My view is that the airunit has better video quality but at the expense of size and weight. Having said that, all my kwads now have a Vista.
Having both, the only changes to image quality I see is due to cameras being different. Range is better with the Air Unit vs the Air Unit Lites but that is to be expected with 1 antenna vs 2.
Hi. I have 3 air unit and 1 vista I also noticed that the vista is worse - the picture is blurred on the sides. I have 1200mw, 50mbps, focus mode auto - set everywhere. The image in the vista can deteriorate at a distance of 50 meters from me (signal is strong and is 50mbps).
I noticed the same exact thing, there is "something up" with the image quality on the Vista. Ultimately it's a lot smaller and lighter so I've continued to use it but I felt the quality difference right away.
It is worth noting that the camera that comes with the vista is not the same as the air unit they look identical but are different in performance. I discovered this when I replaced a damaged camera with a camera from the air unit ( sorry for confusion here it was the vista camera that was damaged not an air unit camera )and my video quality improved significantly I am using a vista with air unit cam on all 4 of my copters now and am very happy I even stripped the aluminum heat sinks off of 2 of them for use on a 92g 2.5 in copter that is truly the most fun to fly in tight technical flying and even here I used the air unit camera I also have used the nebula and nebula pro both are trash and now sit unused in a box with my old air units
That's interesting, I thought the cameras were identical except for the back plate. By chance did you pull them apart to see what the difference was? I wonder if the lens wasn't correctly focused. I just changed both quads over to the Nebula Pro. :(
