I’m so excited to see your next video! One of my first X360 games was Naruto: The Broken Bond and I loved it. The exploration, quests and jutsus felt just perfect and when I tried to make the change Ultimate Ninja Storm I felt very disappointed because of the bad linear exploration it had. I’m waiting to see what are your opinion about this one! I thought nobody knew it before.
I was so excited for TvC when I saw that they gave Roll an actual moveset for it! I was less enthusiastic about the gigantor characters preventing me from finishing the entire roster's arcade stories while keeping her participation% at 100, but you take the good with the bad. ...Saved me the hassle of completing two extra arcade runs, I suppose.
1. Where does one begin with Sailor Moon? Crystal or the re-edit of the original? 2. I feel like anime and comic book games should strive to look like FighterZ/Ninja Storm 4/Eyes of Heaven. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with cel shading.
"Neo" actually just means new. So it's New Tokyo, just like New York was named for the city of York in England. It comes from the Greek "Neos". And yeah, the word used to be extremely over-used as a prefix, probably because people thought it sounded cool for some odd reason.
I was hoping you were going to talk about the Rayearth Saturn RPG. It was cheesy as hell, but like Another Story, it really captured its source material.
"Black and gold can look good combined with anything." - The Opposite Scouts And it's totally true. By the way, it startles me how I watched so much Sailor Moon as a kid and barely have any idea what you're talking about. I think it's time to fix that.
I can’t say how much I love shonen jump’s one piece for the game boy. It is a beat em up 2d platform we where you can change your special moves depending on your crew member and it is amazing.
I find that the dragon boss in the emulator mode is endless fight. Have not heard of that DB EL music. My Irish husband(41) doesn't know what is Sailormoon and Dragonballand Pikachu, until I brought him to watch Broly and I Choose You 2 years ago.
Yo Austin. The Nintendo RUclips copyright ban is done now. When are you gonna steam Pokémon again? I need to see what happens next for the Bellsprout with no name!!!
I've been streaming semi-regularly on Twitch as of lately. I had to stop doing it on RUclips because it was having a negative impact on my channel which is unfortunate. :(
The Ultimate Ninja were what Storm was, but in the PS2 generations, and I believe It was amazing. As well as the storm series, protagonist where outright broken, but the game was stupidly fun, and the optional challenges and the hardest dificulty demanded a few tries before winning. The thing tracked how many Wins and Loses you were getting in the VS mode against your friend, and I remember nights that ended like... 73 vs 69. All the games were played with random character selection, but we had such practice that seeing Hinata's sister kicking Sasuke's ass was not imposible. I played the heck out of both Ultimate Ninja 3, 4 and 5. Story mode was ok, and it was many hours long in all of them. But I played UN5 in japanese, so maybe that made it a lot harder to complete... Same with Budokai Tenkaichi 3. All my friends and I were not exactly casuals, but we where (and I still am) not nearly good enough to enjoy a 2d high complexity fighting game. But this simplier games, where the controls where easy, where there was a throughout tutorial and every character used the same button scheme... were amaizing. Here, in Argentina it was really uncommon to know someone with a nintendo or microsoft console. PS1 and 2 were almost a total monopoly, so there were not many party games. This fighting games (along with Urban Reign and PES, the only 2 games we knew that allowed 4 players) were our party games. And even remembering them feels so good...
Nerø no the fuck it wasn’t, it was way better in BB they added more stuff and built upon things like the combat system, there was puzzles based upon the character’s skills ,you didn’t fight the same goons while free roaming outside Konoha every two Seconds, you didn’t just play as naruto in the story mode and also the characters mouths actually moved when they talked
5:31 Goddamn, those gag faces. Legit, seeing that crew go to town on those stupid faces is part of what made me like anime. 9:05 Also, that's literally just Luminaire from Chrono Trigger, slowdown and all. How'd they get away with that one?
Naruto openings and endings slap so hard, i'll be an old man one day with my headband on making my grandkids listen to fighting dreamers talking about the good ol days.
The fact that you didn’t bring up Bleach: the Blade of Fate from the Nintendo DS is both disappointing and sad. I thought you wanted to bring up good anime games, not point out the copy paste nature of the CC2 Naruto games
Maybe he hasnt heard of it? Jesus Christ chill the man only play Storm 4 not every storm game. Anyways The bleach games he should look at are Heat the Soul on PSP and the Dark Souls on the DS. Blade of fate had a newer rgp game that was better and it starred those two green haired twins. Forgot the name but man it was fun
My fav Anime Games are the To Love Ru Darkness games on the PS Vita. Both Battle Ecstasy and True Princess are brilliant To Love Ru games that bring out all the ecchi elements from the series, one was a action based dungeon crawler and the other was a Dating Sim Visual Novel game that points out all the major ecchi scenes from the series but in a context of its own storyline. Really awesome game that puts the service into fan service Anime Games.
Why is this the first time I've heard Obama say "anime" in the worst Japanese accent ever? That's so amazing. He sounds like such an American suburban dad.
@@kainhighwind2 It's not like I'm saying the game is bad in any way or anything, just flatter compared to the others. The Gameplay is 97% the same, other than small improvements, QTE's have been boosted in amount for more flare, but I would've personally rathered the more open feel of the game, even if technically linear. And cutscene STILL could of been done with animation, Rather than just Key moments. Maybe they should've just considered more moments Key?
I would pay damn good money to have Cyber-connect work on a One Piece game but alas it seems not to be. I'll be honest most One Piece games arn't very good but the one that I feel the most comfortable recommending is One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3. It's a musuo game so you get what you pay for but if you want a pretty decent game where you can run around and fight as anyone from One Piece it's pretty good for that. Hopefully World Seeker will break this streak of bad One Piece games.
If SAO Phantom Bullet took out the SAO part it would have been a pretty fun game with some really good mechanics... But SAO was plastered all over it and oof
Wait, there’s actually *good* anime games? What sorcery is this?!?!! Then again, Dragon Ball FighterZ is hella rad, so I guess it isn’t too surprising in the long-run. Also Boruto sucks. You can’t change my mind.
Play fist of the north star lost paradise. It's a ps4 game that came out this october. play it in japanese though unless you like pissing yourself at shite english dubs.
Brandon Roberts I’ve seen gameplay of Xenoverse and it doesn’t really look like my cup of tea. I more so prefer traditional DBZ fighting games like the Budokai series and FighterZ. Kudos to anyone who does enjoy it though. I do give Bamco bonus points for not just telling the Saiyan through Buu saga again for the millionth time though.
There are a lot of good anime games they just never got/get localized. Even if they do they tend to do badly so localizers focus on garbage they know will sell(hello thar SAO).
Hell another another person who likes shitting on Boruto. Well do you. and yes there are a lot of great anime games that isnt FighterZ. Hell the devs that made FighterZ Arc system works also made the fantastic Guilty Gear and BlazBlue games which are both iconic.
Hey Austin! Another underrated gem you should check out is Bleach: Dark Souls, definitely an amazing handheld multiplayer fighter if not the best multiplayer fighter for the original DS. P.S. Broken Bond is an awesome game, played so much of that online hahaha.
Pretty much most fighting games or role-playing games with an anime aesthetic or based on an anime IP besides VNs have a stellar reputation. (Not all games based on anime are great and even I know that since we all know licensed IP games have a pretty bad track record and it’s easy to see why) A lot of the better anime IP games are in fact fighting games, or at least what I experienced. (excluding original IPs, we have games like Fate Unlimited Codes, InuYasha and Shaman King for PS1, Gundam Battle Assault/Endless Duel, Bleach: Dark Souls, Naruto Storm, Hokuto no Ken for PS2 [originally an arcade game], Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure on Dreamcast, the recent Demon Slayer game and especially Dragon Ball FighterZ and many more are all really good and are worth playing especially if you’re a fan of those intellectual properties. Don’t get me started on DBFC, that game is fucking awesome. I don’t care what anyone says, Kirito’s my main) If you ask me, I think Eighting has a pretty good track record. They’ve made some middle of the road fighting games yeah (like Naruto or Battle Stadium DON which I think are so so) but they’ve made some excellent ones here and there and I absolutely agree on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, I also have Tatsunoko Fight and I think it’s pretty good. I think modern day fighters have an overall great track record, especially anime ones. You were right about fighting games and visual novels being safe bets, you forgot role-playing games though. Anime and fighting games are like bread and butter, not live-action-y sprites, it just shits on the legacy if you ask me.
Thank you so much for talking about Advanced Adventure, I was hoping you'd bring it up. One thing I want to add that wasn't mentioned about it is that you don't unlock only Krillin. You unlock 30 characters, almost every boss, minion and extra in general. They're unlockable in Extra Mode after you get the 7 Dragon Balls and get their pictures and they're available in platform stages and mini games like the minion rush and the boss rush. Don't know if this is a spoiler, but I wanted to say this in case you didn't know because this blew my mind the first time I got to play as so many characters from DB.
When you mentioned Dpad my ears perked up, im actually in SATX, always nice to hear about familiar places mentioned by the internet personalities i watch

Naruto storm series really got me thinking: "WTH the anime didn't use this engine as their base!? Instead persistence with cheap budget hand drawn artists for fillers (AND SOME) main fights!!?" what a shame..
You can unlock EVERYONE in advanced adventure. Not just Krillin. You can eventually play as Tien, Chaotzu, Roshi, Captain Blue... hell even generic enemies like pig soldier or a security camera robot that dies in one hit.
The first FMA game on PS2 was a really solid game. A unique story not following the anime was nice. It’s got problems but I deeply crazy enjoyed it. Please talk about it! If you haven’t already? I forget. lol!

"The D-Pad"... they stole my idea! I was gonna open up a gay barcade and call it The D-Pad!
As a fan of the Dynasty Warriors formula, the One Piece Pirate Warriors games are great.
1. Where does one begin with Sailor Moon? Crystal or the re-edit of the original?
2. I feel like anime and comic book games should strive to look like FighterZ/Ninja Storm 4/Eyes of Heaven. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with cel shading.
1. I watch the Movies lol
2.Injustice looks cooler
3 I agree
"Neo" actually just means new. So it's New Tokyo, just like New York was named for the city of York in England.
It comes from the Greek "Neos". And yeah, the word used to be extremely over-used as a prefix, probably because people thought it sounded cool for some odd reason.
"The 90s were lame."
A braver phrase has never been spoken.
The 90s have so many classics
To this day I'm salty that they made a Capcom crossover fighter with giant robot characters but there were still no Cyberbots characters
Austing, how are you getting these videos out so fast!? Don't burn yourself out now, y'hear!?
That Joseph meme flash on SM killed me
Awe shiz, Tentchi Muyo was my jam back in the day.
0:39 made me spit out coffee all over my keyboard haha
I was hoping you were going to talk about the Rayearth Saturn RPG. It was cheesy as hell, but like Another Story, it really captured its source material.
Sailor Moon was my favourite "I'm a sick kid & staying home for the day" show, it was on ALL day long
Can you please do a top 10 list about anime games that don't originate from anime shows
Most deff.
Guilty Gear and Blazblue by Arc system work who made FighterZ. Remember this. Also Under night in birth @@austineruption
@@RasenRendanX yes
"Black and gold can look good combined with anything." - The Opposite Scouts
And it's totally true.
I have the same Kino art on my background. Good shit.
Ah, Sailor Jupiter. One of those characters you want to kick your ass and you'd thank her for it.
Austin Eruption yea but then I gotta use twitch.
Storm was the most balanced naruto game
The Broken bond was worse than Rise, and I'm pretty sure Rise had the Ninja run.
Goddamn it I saw that Girugamesh bit coming a mile off and it still made me laugh XD Damn you Eruption!!!
Yeah..it's Boruto's Dad.
Fun fact, honey never spoils as long as you don't put any foreign contaminants into it
Shout out to my favorite anime game: Saint Seiya Soldiers' Soul, it's a pretty fun game. Just wish we had more playable Specters.
Same here and I was so grateful we got a Saint Seiya game that actually covered the Asgard Arc.
Thank you! Sailor Moon Another Story and that Tenchi Muyo tactics game are amazing. As was Bahamut Lagoon.
Ultimate Ninja Storm is my favorite fighting game series behind Smash
love it so much
This is Series made me a Naruto Fan.
I have played pretty much every Naruto Ult Storm on XB360
To this day I'm still upset we didn't get Speed Racer or the Samurai Pizza Cats in Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Im surprised you didn't talk about the Budokai Tenkaochi series
He is a naruto and Nintendo fanboy thats why
Yet he talked about Dragon ball. You sure love throwing labels dont you?@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716
I'm still mad that Speedy Cerviche from Samurai Pizza Cats was not a playable character in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
Same here.
The fact that you didn’t bring up Bleach: the Blade of Fate from the Nintendo DS is both disappointing and sad.
I thought you wanted to bring up good anime games, not point out the copy paste nature of the CC2 Naruto games
The Yu Yu Hakusho fighter on Sega Genesis was pretty great too, which was also developed by Treasure with the same engine.
He did say if you didn't see something you thought was rad to let him know. This won't be the last time he covers the subject.
Talk about something Jojo
Why is this the first time I've heard Obama say "anime" in the worst Japanese accent ever? That's so amazing. He sounds like such an American suburban dad.
Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is the worst of the series, the Others actually let you play through the story instead of stills.
Gameplay wise, it's the best. Plus it's got Boruto stuff.
I like the first one more. It's really fun to play, for casual players.
It is the best gameplay and all the parts that actually matter are animated...
I played Ultimate Ninja Storm 1, and the story in that is almost nothing but stills
Genre ??? Anime is an entire entertainment medium not a genre.
It's a ps4 game that came out this october. play it in japanese though unless you like pissing yourself at shite english dubs.
why would we try to change your mind from the truth?
Great vid but I was sad to see no mention of Jojo's Venture or the beat 'em up Sailor Moon arcade game. Those two are fantastic games.
Attack on titan the video game series and seven deadly sins
"green naruto"
I will fight you for that disrespect!
lmao but frl great video
I can name one good licensed game: Disney Extreme Skate Adventure
A good anime game: J All Stars Victory Plus
5:52 You know Austin it's 1 AM in the morning my brain can't process this!
They really need to make a FMAB,Inuyasha and Death Note games on the switch with English voices
When you mentioned Dpad my ears perked up, im actually in SATX, always nice to hear about familiar places mentioned by the internet personalities i watch
Thank you so much for including the Girugamesh meme LOL
Nice video the girugamesh joke made me crack up
the sakuracon 2009 meme knocked me back a decade
God Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is a major nightmare for me. I remember falling asleep at my friend's house, very sick while she was playing this game. I remember the constant screaming sounds waking me up
Ah man I never got a notification on any of your vids till now. All I gotta say is it's nice to see you without the cotton candy hair. You look way more handsome. Now a Austin binge I go!
Loving the Kino desktop background!
Remember when Disney said they were making a G Force movie, and it just turned out to be Guinea pigs.......yea
Naruto storm series really got me thinking: "WTH the anime didn't use this engine as their base!? Instead persistence with cheap budget hand drawn artists for fillers (AND SOME) main fights!!?"
what a shame..
“What’s with Japan and using ‘Neo’ for everything?”
Neo Olde Tokyo. Enough said.
You can unlock EVERYONE in advanced adventure. Not just Krillin. You can eventually play as Tien, Chaotzu, Roshi, Captain Blue... hell even generic enemies like pig soldier or a security camera robot that dies in one hit.
"Hahha Sword Art Online is totes double dumb, guys." "B.T. Dubbs, I love Naruto!"
Poetry.
16:18 keeps waking up Siri, omg I thot there was a fuggin ghost
The first FMA game on PS2 was a really solid game. A unique story not following the anime was nice. It’s got problems but I deeply crazy enjoyed it. Please talk about it! If you haven’t already? I forget. lol!
