I grew up in Poland in the 70s and 80s. I had no idea what Islam was or who Muhammad was while I was in elementary school (I left Poland at the age of 12). If I asked my parents, I doubt they would have been able to say a single thing about Islam/Muhammad as it was not taught in our schools as far as I know, until perhaps in an upper year high school class on world religions which few students would take (if there was such a class, I doubt it) or university. So, 99.9% of the population didn't know anything about Islam.
In other cultures you'd be brought up in a different religion, and know very little to nothing about religions far away (unless of course you have people living side by side, like in the Middle East, where there are minorities at least). Today we're very connected and are aware of people in other parts of the world and religions, but just a few decades before (and centuries before that), people would have known very little to nothing about other religions.

That depends very much upon where you lived. I grew up in a region of the US with many immigrants, back in the 1960s. My family was Protestant, but our neighbors were Jewish, Catholic, Hindu, Eastern Orthodox, and Buddhist. I don't remember any Muslims, but you get the picture. We certainly learned about other religions, not in school so much as from our friends and neighbors.

My feeling is, but not sure, but if you are a muslim, you also have to know about Judaism, and Chritianity at least, as you define yourself against them, as they "corrupted" the scriptures (I feel this a ridiculous claim btw). I grew up in eastern europe also in the 90s, and I knew islam only as an Abrahamic faith, which I now dispute, but nothing else.

What you couldnt reconcile is the fact that Allahs demands and rules reflect that of a tribal war god whose supreme teachings favours the very tribe in which he revealed himself as the supreme being.
Race isnt the only tribal identity of human beings.
Nor is language, cultural identity, sex, citizenship or which side of the road they drive.
We know the names of many tribal war gods from history. Every tribe that had influenced the world in one way or the other had their own god who was also the god of war.
Often the god of thunder or fire.
Odin was one such tribal war god who promised Valhalla to the Vikings who fell in battle.
The divine creator doesnt see the others who not from the chosen tribe as something that is lesser among those he created himself.

I think that the assumption also comes from a wrong angle. Assuming God is almighty and all-knowing, surely he'd be aware of the fact that you'd be pretending your beliefs for the sake of ending up in Jannah. It completely erodes the point of the worship you'd hold for God in the first place. But this also presupposes that God would be willing to send a person to eternal torture for not being convinced in the first place. I can't think of anyone outside of the concept of demons or the devil who'd willingly and knowingly go to Jahannam. The whole concept just reeks of compulsion and terror to maintain a set of beliefs, something which an almighty God would not need, or at least, is not even close to being effective enough to get the entire world to worship him.

I had doubts before but when I saw Zoroastrianism prayer being so similar to Islam idk y I realized that Muhammad cleverly copy pasted or took things from other religions and called it the final book or truth. People ignored the similarities cause well Islam doesn't deny those religions so yeah.
The thing that Quran has 3 times prayer mentioned in it. After that hadith changed it to 5 times prayer. In Zoroastrianism they also pray 5 times a day, at the exact time as Islamic prayer. They also do ablution. The also face to a certain direction named Qeblah. The pool sirat or that bridge is similar to a bridge of Zoroastrianism (I forgot the exact word) and the miraj night journey of prophet is similar to Arda viraf.

@@muniaisworthit To say the Quran mentions only 3 prayers would be a selective view of the Quran. The Quran never mentions all five prayers explicitly, but they are mentioned scattered. I will mention five (not intended) verses about prayer.
1\) The verse in Surah Taha. It is the most comprehensive of the verses:
So be patient over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied. (20:130)
⟪before the rising of the sun⟫ Fajr prayer
      ⟪before its setting⟫ Asr prayer
⟪during periods of the night⟫ Isha prayer
⟪at the ends of the day⟫ Fajr (which is right before the day starts) and Maghrib (which is right when the day ends). Note: Surah 11 tells us it is specifically two ends of the day.
It is clear in this verse at least 4 prayers without doubt.
It is debatable whether Zuhr is mentioned. Some argued ends of the day means Zuhr and Maghrib, but Idk about that.
      2) The verse in Surah Isra. We can get Zuhr for sure from it:
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur'an of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed. (17:78)
⟪at the decline of the sun⟫ Zuhr which starts at the decline of the sun from noon.
⟪until⟫ implying there are prayers in between as well which are Asr and Maghrib
⟪the darkness of the night⟫ Isha prayer
      ⟪the Qur'an of dawn⟫ Fajr prayer.
      3) The verse in Surah Hud:
And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember. (11:115)
⟪two ends of the day⟫ Fajr and Maghrib. Or some said Fajr and the afternoon prayers (Zuhr and Asr).
⟪at the approach of the night⟫ Maghrib (more likely since that is when night just arrives) or Isha.
      4) And the verse in Surah Qaaf:
So be patient, [O Muhammad], over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,
And [in part] of the night exalt Him and after prostration. (50:39-40)
⟪And [in part] of the night⟫ Isha prayer.
      5) And the verse in Surah Baqarah:
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient. (2:238)
⟪the middle prayer⟫ means there are an odd number of prayers. Combined with the first verse which guaranteed at least 4 prayers, this means there are at least five obligatory prayers to make it an odd number.

Also, apparently another Hadith said Allah would have Muslims in paradise look into hell and if they saw anyone they knew, they could call them up into paradise to the point that even an acquaintance that recognized the Muslim could get called up from hell into Paradise.
When doing polemics in England against Muslims Jay Smith would sometimes joke with the Muslims that he'd then see them in paradise based on that Hadith because he was now known to the Muslim. 😂

How many of you repent truly after doing something wrong or evil ? Repent means when your inner conscious makes you guilty of your wrong doings only if you have a conscious. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:1-3)
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)
To seek God with all our heart is fundamental to God’s revealing himself to us (Jeremiah 29:13).
      As Blaise Pascal put it:
Willing to appear openly to those who seek Him with all their heart, and to be hidden from those who flee from Him with all their heart, He so regulates the knowledge of Himself that He has given signs of Himself, visible to those who seek Him, and not to those who seek Him not. There is enough light for those who only desire to see, and enough obscurity for those who have a contrary disposition.
      1 Corinthians 1: 17-18 states
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
      1 Corinthians 15:1-4 states
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)

What if some people are practicing religion just because it is their custom, tradition, and never truly think about it? Like a couple in an arranged marriage, they are loyal to each other, raising their children, but never truly love one another.
Our internet era is a blessing because we can know a lot information about each religions, the arguments for and against them, and eventually we truly decide for ourselves to believe or not.

Only in the original Greek of the Bible is the fact of Universal-Salvation discoverable (meditation certainly helps) Look, I understand it's not immediately obvious. I'm not trying to sound sanctimonious. I sometimes avoid calling myself "Christian", because there are so many varieties of "Christian" beliefs and practices that people can't even be expected to know what that word even means.

Maybe bad people cease to exist in a permanent way after they die or the bad parts of their souls reincarnate into insects or whatnot, but the notion of a hell is primitive and would not make God that good.

@@abbybailey5933 You seem to be very confident in your ability to tell "good and bad".
Could you prove to me your moral compass for you to cast such judgement?
What is a "good person"? Why is a good person in your eyes someone who gives charity or is kind to people? Who decided that is what "good" is?
The reality is that you are assuming good and evil. You have no basis for it. You cannot prove killing is bad. You cannot prove other lives have value. You cannot prove the "good" and the "bad" that you are trying to base judgement on. You only agree to it because thats what society taught you. An athiest cannot prove their morality objectively. You can only give a subjective understanding based on assumptions and hope you are strong enough (be it individually or as a group) to enforce it.
Muslims on the other hand do not have this issue. We know what is good and bad. Because we know our purpose. Just like a phone is a good phone if it does what it was made to so. We were made to worship. The one who assigned us our purpose is our creator. If you believe in that, then you have the moral grounds to believe in Good and Bad, where Good people are those who worship, and Bad people are those who dont. Worship means to submit yourself to God. God tells us not to kill, not to rape, not to lie, not to harm for no reason, etc. He decides what is "bad", because he has the right to.
Without the concept of an objective purpose to our existance, good and bad are just illusions you paint for yourself. And you dont have the right to tell anyone that their morality is worse than yours, because both of you base it on their subjective opinions and assumptions. You do not set the standards.

In regards to #6, Christianity and Islam are almost unique among religions in that they claim to hold a monopoly on salvation, and conveniently from problems they themselves invented and from a god they themselves worship. The overwhelming majority of religions aren't exclusivist like the Abrahamic religions are (and Judaism might not even count in this aspect), so if others believe in something different or in nothing at all, it's not really a problem from the perspectives of their believers. From the perspective of the overwhelming majority of religions, people aren't punished for their beliefs after they die. And if there is some system of punishments in place, it has more to do with a person's actions in life than it does with some insignificant thoughtcrime made in good faith. Being an ethical person is usually considered to be more important than believing in the right religion. As is the case with a lot of things, Abrahamic religions are the outliers here, not the norm.

True, in Hinduism we believe people that don't surrender onto God will be judged by their Karma. If their Karma is more on the 'positive' side they reap the rewards of their Karma in Swarga (Heaven), if it is more on the 'negative' side the will pay off their Karma in Narak (Hell). Those with a near neutral Karma will be reborn, which is what will happen to those in Swarga and Narak once they exhaust their Karma. Only those that surrender to God reach the abode of God, from which they're never reborn. In the Bhagavad Gita, Shree Krishna makes it clear that if you want to reach him you must give up all hope for reward, I.e. Heaven, as it is a desire not for God but for prolonged life.

Just because a counterfeit religion(Islam) exists, it doesn't mean that the REAL is not there. You don't judge a system by its abuses but by those who started it. Jesus, the eternal son of God, became man; never fought a battle; healed the sick, raised the dead, died for the sins of those who would trust him, and rose again on the third day. He is coming to judge the living and the dead. I can understand why the Al-Lah(moon., moon) is an abominable deity, but Jesus is the one who can save you not only from what is to come but also transform your life and heart in this present evil age.

Just stop pls. God never introduced any religion including Jesus Christ.
Jesus just prayed and fasted to Yahweh. That’s what all humans should do. We should model our lives after him. He is the greatest, the most high, the alpha and the omega!

If Jesus promised to torture people in Hell and stood proudly in solidarity with the god of the Old Testament, it is safe to say that had he had political power in life, he would have been every bit as bad as Muhammad. And had Muhammad been executed before fleeing Mecca, I suspect it would be a lot easier for Muslim dawah preachers to talk about how peaceful he was.

I absolutely agree with your point that belief is NOT a choice. You either believe or you don’t. That’s why a good God, imo, would judge people based on their actions and NOT their beliefs (or lack there of). Also, the notion of a good God creating an eternal hell is absurd. A good God might create a heaven for the good people, but he wouldn’t create a hell... maybe the bad people would have to have their souls go back down to earth to accomplish the task they failed the first time around. Or maybe the bad part of one’s soul would simply be erased. Idk, but that would sound more Godly than a primitive, eternal hell.

That all depends on who you ask. According to Baptists, *Mother Teresa* is now in hell because she was a Catholic, and Catholics trivialize the acceptance and faith in Jesus while placing great emphasis on cathedrals, stained glass, liturgy, sacraments, the clergy; and paying homage to Mary, the Pope, Saints, statues.
Meanwhile, *Jefferey Dahmer* (who k______ and dismembered 17 people, many of whose corpses were subjected to necrophilia and cannibalism) is in heaven since he repented and accepted Mr. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through ME,” as his savior while on death row.

I guess I have the unicorn problem. A long time ago go I became an atheist because I am convinced that religion is fake and there is no proof of a deity. So I am screwed for eternity. I can’t start believing in a god again, that ship has left port. As I like a warm climate, Hell will probably suite me fine 😄

Allah is a deception. The word just means god. God the creator of the universe has a name: I AM (in Hebrew, roughly pronounced Jehovah, but the exact manner of saying it was kept within the priesthood and uttered only once a year in the Holy of Holies). The god of Islam is a pagan moon god.

Pascals wager is the most profoundly irritating sentiment lmao, because it entirely depends upons thiests being incapable of grasping disbelief, and the nature of genuine belief or lack thereof.
'A man can will his actions, but he can't will his will' or something.
