  • Day SEVEN of our 8-day road trip through the highlands of Iceland! Driving and river crossing adventure to Aldeyjarfoss and Godafoss in North Iceland. The way to Aldeyjarfoss takes you through a few farms and out of nowhere the parking lot appears. Then it's about a 30-minute walk to reach the falls. We drive on the F-road F26. We also stop at Godafoss since they're only about 45 minutes away from each other. Lastly, we make a quick detour to the Christmas House in Akureyri. Explore Iceland's sights off the beaten path. Stay tuned for our final vlog in this adventure-filled series!

Just wanted to say thank you. We are currently in Iceland and our trip is going incredibly well. A large part of that has been because of the information we have gleaned from your vlog. From shopping at Bonus to hunting down rye bread ice cream. After our 3 days of diving we are booked into Sky Lagoon on Thursday, on your recommendation. Every day we are here we comment on the things you have menu. By the way, the Culture Night and the hot dogs were awesome!

Two beautiful waterfalls and have visited both last year. We were the only people at Aldeyjafoss last Summer and I got my best image of the whole trip at Godafoss (a long exposure) easy to access both sides of the canyon to get different angles. Will have to visit the Christmas House next year on our return as we are staying overnight in Akuyeri 👍

Thanks so much for all your videos. Just back from short visits to Akureyri and Reykjavik via cruise ship and your info helped us make the most of it. Tried salted licorice and grew to really like it. Tours to Lake Myvatn , Godafoss and Dimmuborgir were awesome, that region was our coldest day but we were prepared thanks to you. Then the sun came out and we enjoyed a beautiful evening and dinner at Rub23. Smooth sailing then to Reykjavik to see the Golden Circle on a pleasant day. This area was more crowded but we got to see everything , again marveling at the stark scenery. Ended the evening with a visit to Sky Lagoon (thanks to you) and would highly recommend it. We just got a taste of your beautiful island and plan to return for a land trip.

Maybe... be sure to check the road conditions on road.is before attempting. If the road is open, you're good to go. Once road 842 turns into F26, the parking lot is about 3.5 miles away.

Amazing. Is it possible to get to the waterfall by foot from the end of the regular road? in case we don't have a F road vehicle?

Yes you can. I hiked the f road portion to the fall. About 1.5 hr one way.
