- Aldeyjarfoss is Icelands most famous waterfall in Kayaking circles and for a few years was held the Guinness World Record for the highest free-fall in a kayak. It has only been paddled by a handful of kayakers and is renowned for dishing out serious beatings including broken bones.

It's a very beautiful and powerfull waterfall. 40km from ring road number 1 but still lot of people came to visit Aldeyjarfoss, not only for kayaking. :D

Anyone know the song that was playing when they were talking about the horses??
One guy went down there and the pressure was so much that his helmet popped of and after he came up his helmet was floating beside him and the pressure did something to his head so for some time he thought his head was floating beside him... this is not a fake story
so interesting about the horses? can anyone tell me more about them? thank you so much!

If he had a proper spay-deck, it wouldn't have popped.
+Lord Primus Every sprayskirt will implode under that much pressure, and water flow, unless you put a chastity belt on it.
+SteepVisions Nope, all depends on what brand you use. Is the deck custom made to the exact design of the inner gunnel? Or the is the tube lined up perfectly to where the paddler sits in the boat to re-leave pulling stress on the fabric? Is the cord running along the inner gunnel strong at all? One size fits all boats wont cut it.
+Lord Primus When you go deep on a waterfall the pressure might implode the skirt. If you pencil the drop perfectly, the water is not directly impacting the skirt, however if it's a direct hit with that much flow, it's very likely to implode. If T.B. followed your advice when running Palouse, he might've ended up like Rafa.
+SteepVisions Did you listen to read I said? Palouse is another thing all together, the hight means you might not even hit the water with the waterfall, could knock you out even. That monster is nothing compared to Aldeyjarfoss, Rush was like meh when he paddled this. With the right deck Aldeyjarfoss is fine.
+Lord Primus the IR Royal series are the best skirts against implosion in my opinion but im not shure if they wouldnt pop there either. If you watched Keyhole were Aniol droped that huge waterfall he also used an Royal but with an chastity belt on it
