I knew Mark before Red House Painters were signed. We worked together in San Francisco. I was invited to sit in on the show that 4AD attended and later signed the band. Good to see this documentary. Hi Mark is you're visiting. I did become a stockbroker...ha!

Kozelek was at his Apex during the "Admiral Fell Promises" tour, No one, absolutely No One in the non classical guitar world sounded as good he did at this time! The Nylon String Guitar was like the Lyre of Orpheus in his hands. Why did he walk away from this?! The "Scandal" seems to have affected him terribly, and the "Music" he is making now is so ugly, and filled with rancor! It's kinda Heartbreaking. Very Thankful that this wondrous time was documented.
