Big fan of the Zephyr. I bought all 3 of mine back when they were less than 50 bucks. I've bought one higher end BFS reel and the Zephyr is better. I throw 8 pound test floro or 15 braid with no issues. That's just the smallest line that these old eyes can tie knots with. Just FYI, I don't like BFS for drop shotting . That wobbling thing it does in the air causes me backlashes. BFS has definitely been a game changer for me on ponds. I even have a dedicated topwater combo running 15lb braid to throw small topwaters. Great review! I've never had that spool issue.
I bought mine a few months ago and I love it. I even throw a rocket bobber on mine and fish for crappie. I use 6 lb. flourocarbon. It did have issues getting caught in the spool at first but I found that having a little less line on the spool cured that issue.
It’s a sweet little reel! It’s definitely made me fall in love with BFS fishing. You’re the only other person that I’ve heard of having the issue where the line gets caught. Tight lines man!
Have you tried BFS before? I highly recommend it man! It’s so much fun, and you catch a ton of fish. Look into getting some Great Lakes finesse sneaky spins!

@@thesouthwes I have heard one or two other reviewers mention the spool issue. Tight lines dude!
I’m thinking about buying one of these now because of this. Thank you

@@thesouthwes Sneaky Spin for the win! 🔥
I am new to your channel, I really like the way you presented this review. You have a new subscirver...one closer to 10k!
You need to do more reviews rods, reels, line, lures. Nice non biased opinions.
Good to hear! The only problem is that I’ve got to buy them 😂
Good review. I’m seriously thinking of getting this reel. Did you use backing line when using braid ?
No I just ran straight braid. I’ve found that my favorite line to use on it is 6lb mono. It lets me throw everything from topwater to crankbaits
I have one on a 6 ft light rod and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had
It’s so much fun! I think everyone has got to try it!
Love the videos but i wana give you a heads up 13 fishing has their 7'3 mh rod baitcaster rods for 20 bucks right now on site
I’ll have to check that out! Thanks for the heads up!
