I think the Origin App had this feature where it would detect the game and repair it.

They had it back when was the origin app you could change location by one click like in Blizzard that search your pc for games hope they change this soon

in regedit you would look for Maxis. i found that but for me it keeps changing it back in the reg when i look at the game in EA so idk why but it may not let you do it.
@Priceymami1 you shouldn’t have had to reinstall it if you updated the registry and completely shut the app down ( which means closing the app, ensuring it’s not minimised in the system tray, and killing the background service task too) and restarted it. If it’s asking you to reinstall the game then it sounds like a step has been missed somewhere.
@@MyTechGearGaming yes when I deleted the original from my program file I went to the one on my drive to add my cc and mods and it just shows a whole lotta epo1- numbers then I tried to start the game and it said it was deleted so I re download the sims to the drive but now it shows the same files as the one before
Sounds like the copy over didn’t work fully. I would always recommend testing that the game works in the new location before deleting the original directory. Hope your Sims game is working ok for you now.
You can just leave them where they are. And if they aren’t taking up too much space that’s what I’d recommend. You can move all your mods and packages to another drive if you really wanted to but it involves moving your documents folders or creating symbolic links ( there are online guides available that cover this) so it’s a bit involved. Hope that all helps.

Why all of these game stores don't have a transfer option built in like Steam is beyond me. A user shouldn't have to jump through hoops to transfer their games.
the ea app says 'something went wrong try again later' and then it makes me verify files and re install the game. and after that the same error message pops up@@MyTechGearGaming

Sounds like you installed Sims 4 from Steam rather than the EA app. Just check out my other guide on how to move apps on steam to help you out.

You don't have to hack the registry. Just act like you're downloading the game and it will verify the files.
