  • Coral Gables waterway is in one of if not the most desirable areas to live in Miami. Only the ultra rich can afford waterfront homes in this Miami suburb.
Today I drive my 18 foot rib boat as far as I can go along the Gables waterway. Many beautiful homes and very scenic landscapes.
My name is Alfred Montaner dont forget to like the video before you go !

Great job, absolutely loved it, people who visit Miami see these beautiful homes but have no idea what it looks like in the back, with the boats and pools, and the gardens. Pat yourself on the back, do this more. Who knew there were giant snook lurking behind beautiful homes, lol. Thank you

I know the Okeechobee Waterway goes from Stuart, FL (east coast) to Ft. Myers, FL (west coast). Cutting thru Lake Okeechobee. Didn't know there was another waterway too.
Wow! There's several houses/mansions with their own water garages. That's such a cool idea.

Hey Alfred, when I was younger I used to dive and fish off a 13 inflatable 25 hp Yamaha up in Mass.. I was striper fishing off of Manchester-by-the-Sea and went into a little cove tossed a couple of lures and moved on. 15 minutes later the water police sidled up to me acting half chummy asking me a bunch of questions. Never happened before and I used to see them from time to time but never talked to them before. When you went in to take a look at that CC it reminded me that people can have funny notions about their and your place in the general scheme of things.

I was born in Coral Gables in 1956. Lived there 38 years. When I was a teenager, we would troll big Mirrolures all night in the Gables waterway. Pulled huge mangrove snapper and snook from under those bridges.

Bro that place is unreal and I love how once u got back by the bridge everything was a lot taller off of the water and those garages were absolutely badass!!! U wouldn’t have to worry about surge or anything like that with how high they are off of the water, unlike the houses that were right out front by the bay!! Badass video man, thank u for this perspective! To bad ur camera was on a fixed mount, I would’ve loved to seen in some of those garages, that to me is just awesome!!! Keep up the awesome work though brother, ur killing it!!!! What I liked the most about this video, was after the second little bridge, all the boats were in their little cutouts off the canal and so it keeps the canal so much cleaner looking without all of the boats sitting actually in the canal!!! U need to do another video just like this one but have ur camera to where u can rotate it!!

Been down that canal plenty of times. That bridge is the Lejeune Rd next to the Cocoplum Circle. South of there is the Gables by the Sea neighborhood. The owner of Wackenhut Security, who had a castle with motion sensor cameras. As for money neighborhoods, Fisher Island, Brickell Key, Golden Beach, Bal Harbor, Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, Bay Harbor Islands, Indian Creek, Normandy Isle. Hell the whole Intercoastal Waterway north from the Venetian Causeway

Not 100% positive, but I think I saw that "house" @2:23 listed on Sotheby's recently, for something north of $10M USD.
    .
Google must have recently updated their satellite imagery for that area, it's showing pretty much the same boats (including the RIB you were drooling over) as you are.
    .
That's a nice trawler @13:48. I couldn't make out what the other guy was saying when he identified the boat make, I thought he was saying it's a Tiara, but it definitely is not!
    .
Now that's one hell of a boat garage @21:23 that looks like they could have a lift system in it. Maybe not for an extra high tide but good for a brief haulout at least.
    .
Alfred, were you at or near high tide when you shot this? Because otherwise I don't see how that sportfisher @27:12 could get out under those bridges you came in under near Ingraham Park. Must be one heck of a deep channel! The Intrepid @36:43 looks like it would be a tight fit under the Hardee Rd. bridge (the second bridge).
    .

When Merrick built The Biltmore he wanted to attract the wealthy snowbirds and advertised the city as the Venice of the South. He built access to the bay and actually had Gondolas taking people on tours on the Coral Gables Waterway. His dreams were dashed by the 1926 hurricane. Took a long time for Coral Gables to come back into fashion. In the 80’s. Coco Plum was the home of many of many “Scarface” business associates that wanted access to the bay for their business.
