    I think the best is when the plot of the game and the relationships between characters are interwoven! I mean this is why we play otome games right, we need some romance! Having said that, I’m really enjoying Code:Realize right now and I’m excited to get the romance fix in the FDs!

      Totally! I think that's why a lot of games ended up in the second tier, because a combination is best
      Glad you're enjoying Code Realize! Tell me if the FDs are romantic enough to make up for the first game 😆

    I do agree about code realize even though it one of my fav games. The romance is kinda out of nowhere when it out of the common route. But i enjoy the story still haha.

    Played Code:Realize in one fell swoop with all three games. The first game felt like an insanely long common route and the fandisks were the actual romantic routes. Fell in love with the game after I played the second fandisk! It is so much more romantic!

    For me, I have played so many different otome with cliché physical romance that I ended up rolling my eyes at most games or interactions like that. But once I played Code Realize, and more darker games that are plot heavy like Psychedelica or Virche Evermore, I discovered that I enjoy it more when a story approaches the theme of love in a more artistic or meaningful way.
    In Virche, love is through "Salvation" and there seemed to have been a ongoing theme of the ideas of pursuing the will and determination to live and desire happiness despite darkness. I think Virche, Code Realize, and Cafe Enchante were all written by the same writers and it maintains that pattern. Idk why but meaningful moments are the ones that make me squeal, and steamy ones that make me cringe 😂 I guess I like a slow burn? Or an emotional Rollercoaster, I wanna find romance among the anger, sadness, happiness, and embarrassment WITH the LI.

    Interesting, I found Butterfly's Poison (10:28) too long and only liked one route (maybe 2), but I enjoyed Nightshade (19:13) and thought each route fit the story, characters, and setting - though I think Hanzō's route is possibly one of the best-written storylines and development of characters I've seen in media (my opinion as a writer and editor), while Goemon's shinobi persona was my favorite part in each route. Two of the other routes are bittersweet after a lot of tragedy. I watched both of these games on yt. Edit: That first car ride with Shiba, though: Oh my stars and whiskers! 😳

    We have very similar taste, I would rate the once I read the same. 100% agree about Code: Realize. I have no idea why this is a thing, for me the plot is like book for kids, characters superficial, writting overall seems weak. Also agree about virche, I guess people enjoy the extremely dramatic plot and twists? For me it's forced and I don't mean the science. I mean the characters decisions are just out of the damn hat. Nothing they do makes sense, most of the LI turn out to be psycho and that's when the romance starts xD I feel like they figured out that a lot of audience enjoys dark settings and we like to choose the most toxic LI (Yang take my soul), so they just throw everything they could on the reader, so we can happily swim in trauma. I don't get it. That's what life is for xD

    • @LinLinLavender
      @LinLinLavender  8 месяцев назад

      Omg, the plot in Code Realize seems so random to me 🤣
      I also think Virche is a perversion of our needs for drama and trauma, but imo they forgot you also need a slow romance progression to really feel the drama - and I didn't feel anything in Virche
      True, toxic LIs for the win 🤣
      I guess everyone has their limits and yours and mine are not as wide as others, but that's ok 😊 glad there are games for every audience
