Ohh. Emily’s talking about kids 😮. I like the different Timelapse angles 👌. I would have left Emily a $5.00 tip but I don’t think you have that enabled.
I enjoy these long trip reviews in family vehicles. We viewers get a better sense of cabin noise, seat comfort and mpg. At least you got both Buc-ees and Culver’s in the same road trip as a fringe benefit.
Dayton OH resident here. The mighty Ohio river, Topher. The mighty Ohio. That's what separates Ohio and Kentucky. Love the vid.😊 Detroit was amazing too. Was there couple weekends ago. Thoroughly enjoyed the metro❤❤.❤❤❤
This car is priced about $5K-8K too high for the kind of quality and performance you get. For reference, my 2023 X5 45e had a sticker price under $78K last year, before the tax credit.
@@FirstHillSeattle It is very well equipped. Executive package, M Sport, all the driver assistance features, upgraded sound system, etc. This was before the 2024 price hike.
I'm considering one to replace my 22 MDX Advance (lease on extension to Feb 2025). I am wrestling with either buying min e for $35,400 with 22-23K Miles on it or leasing a new one or other Vehicle (like a 2025 Mazda CX-70). The Mazda is a step down from a MDX Advance, even lower step down for a Type S BUT, The Mazda has the same HP /Torque as the Type S for Nearly $20 K less!! I will test drive it - both of them.
@@Chiroman527I’m in the market for an MDX and well versed on prices. Your MDX will be worth about 48-50k with those miles. Buy it out or use the equity for a down payment on a new MDX. You will be silly to just turn it in.
lol Francine caught a stray while Helene was doing all the dirty work 😂. This little trip was so wholesome. And now I still want Culver’s but sadly it’s 5am while I’m watching this 😩
Only thing i hate about my 24’ Type-S is the range…and it could be a bit quieter on the highway. I normally place it in normal for the highway damping, and comfort on rural back roads
They make such a big deal about how green EVs are well how about making these larger SUVs hybrid first for a smoother transition. It seems like none of them can break 25 mpg highway.
i will say it's wild especially considering my 2019 MDX Advance can easily do like 30 mpg on a full highway roadtrip and get 550-600 miles on a full tank. I guess that's what turbo's will do though
Just came from your new Civic road tripping video where you gripe about the urban gray pearl. Yeah, I'm starting to see how this color, or non-color, could wear thin after a while. Honda needs to be more 'shady' in that department.
the only actual memories i have of Nashville (never actually stopped there just passed through) was what probably could be classified as a hurricane. my parents didnt go above 45-50 on the freeway
You and Em remind me of me and my 17 y/o daughter, who’s fast become my buddy over the years. Gonna miss her when she heads off to college next year. 😢
29:27 Ahh yes, seeing a petrol station that can fit more vehicles than the average IKEA parking lot here in Europe. America simply does not quit surprising me.
Topher, I've been watching your main channel for a while now because ill be able to drive soon, just wondering what was your first car? And any you would recommend? Much love
I didn’t watch the full video so I’m not sure if you went over this but the MDX Type S is way more fun with the transmission in sport mode. Press the D/S button on the shift column and it really livens up the transmission which a lot of reviewers said was “slow” or “not inspiring”
My best friend is doing a 10 day road trip through the states with her dad in an M8 competition and they’ll be spending a couple nights in Nashville.. I’m so jealous lol. Nashville looks like a lot of funnnn
Oh my god I thought they discontinued the blue interior. I'm not sure if it's the same they offered in the 2021-2024 model years but the blue interior with the tiger eye pearl was my favorite
One of the best steering wheel designs in the world . Competitors take note. Shame about the price though , it’s overpriced in my opinion . If I wanted to spend that kind of cash on a car I would consider it. At that price point there are quite a,few, options ; especially if you also consider pre owned vehicles with low mileage from other brands .
You know what man, as much as I love this SUV, I just don't see a very compelling argument for this over the regular MDX at the end of the day, like if you love Acura so much, just have a regular MDX and a TLX type S as your two car garage I dunno
I would agree the bmw is better in most ways, the only big advantage this has in my opinion is comfort. The seats in this are super comfortable with a better massage feature.
It needs a mild hybrid component to it, V6s are naturally more thirstier than Inline 4s and Inline 6s. But honestly to me it’s not that bad, my TLX gets 23 mpg combined but I work from home most of the time so I rarely drive it.
For autos? Probably never going to happen anymore. They just made a marine V8. Honda really should have made one 20 years ago though and put it in the OG ridge line
