Those handles are exquisite! I'm glad you went this direction with your videography, a tribute in itself to how much respect you had for your materials. Thankyou for sharing this!
Gorgeous work! What a beautiful way to preserve and cherish a family heirloom. From a daily working machete into a stylish pocket knife that could be utilized daily. Genius!
Another cool video Walter. I got my first knife from my grandfather. When he passed, he had a whole box of old knifes with mine, my brothers and cousins names taped to them. He also had an old machete he gave me. I understand how your client feels, and I really think you did a wonderful job not only on the knives but also paying a small tribute to his grandfather. Well Done.
Beautiful! Your honoring the project by, "giving thanks for the material and to the man who carried it", was wonderful. You understand the way of the sword.
Damn, Walter, you are an artist. I always thought of knife making as utilitarian. Grandpa would be proud that his family thought so much of his old working man's tool.
Gorgeous work Walter, every time I see another video you just impress me more. You truly did a great thing and honored that mans life and legacy through those gorgeous knives.
Wow! - My favorite of your videos. I have several tools that belonged to my grandfather and I find this tribute quite touching. Thanks for taking the task on and sharing the results. I'm sure your customer is quite proud of the result.
My God...Artistry at its finest. You a master of your craft, demonstrating how you took this piece of junk machete and turned it into a work of beauty. Thanks for the post.
Pretty awesome. The owner can carry them around and use them nicely and has a nice story to go along with them. I love this kind of project. I haven't gotten good enough yet myself to tackle grandpa's old machete yet, but I'm getting there. Thanks for all the tips so far.
SO amazing watching a master craftsman work on the fly and the music was a perfect fit to match the elegant work and craftsmanship. I agree with another poster that said those knives are exquisite. Thank you for showing us how it's done and the effort you put into making these vids.
Beautiful knifes, the handle choice was perfect, to me it fits perfectly with the project idea. I'm sure your client will be happy with the results, I know that I would. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and talents with everyone.
I'm not sure how I feel about cutting up a family heirloom, but I like that you said you gave thanks for the tool and the working man who carried and used it.
Amazing work! The knives look fantastic I think your client will love them! Good to see you use some recycled tool steel instead of the expensive stuff.
wow that is one of the most beautiful handle put on a blade i ever seen , thank you for posting this , it was awesome you make it look so easy to boot!!
You said your dad gave you a knife at age 9. For me, it was my grandfather at age 10. I tradition my parents continued with my boys. pretty cool. Thanks for the fun video.
I loved the wood you used for the handle's, you now have two things from your grandads machete to cherish for years to come, (very attractive things) you should do a video on making sheaths for them,
I love knives however when I watch your videos I feel as if I am watching a theater musical based on a French artist painting in oils, full orchestra and ballerinas dancing in the background. I am not sure what good art is any longer but this is an artist at work. Some day, some day I keep telling myself but for know I will keep coming to the museum. Thank you, bravo
I wish I could have you make me a knife , I am so impressed with the work you just did , those handles are over the top. your other work also impresses me like no one else . I've learned a lot, also learned I cannot make a knife.
I love the look of burl woos and those are the best looking handles that I've ever seen! Excellent job as usual and I'm sure the customer was ecstatic about them!!
Loved the music in this one, it´s worth the name MUSIC! Ad the wood was fabulous, I wish to see that wood at more of your artwork! And as always, great video, thanks from Sweden!
me too. the transformation is stunning. laquer may not be very practical but it is definitely fitting in such a project. At first when i saw the nearly finished wood before Walter applied laquer, I was like ehhh. And then when the laquer went on, i think i just got blown away. very beautiful handles and overall beautiful knives. great way to revive an old heirloom. that client went to the right person
Very nice video Walter ! Even though it isn't your typical stuff, it's quite pleasing to watch (and to listen to !), keep the good stuff. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to make such nice knives too !
Those handles are exquisite! I'm glad you went this direction with your videography, a tribute in itself to how much respect you had for your materials. Thankyou for sharing this!

good choice on the music, love it.
same for me!
+taylor wilkinson Definitely, it's better than that awful guitar riff.
+Anglo Spanish Racing I like both, I just enjoyed the change.
It''s just the repetition that gets to me....I shouldn't really be bitching about it :-)))
+taylor wilkinson I love Fur Elise too, but not 20 minutes of it. I had to mute the video 5 minutes in.
Buckeye Burl goes fantastic with that blade!

Gorgeous work Walter, every time I see another video you just impress me more. You truly did a great thing and honored that mans life and legacy through those gorgeous knives.
Stunning craftsmanship, but you make it look so easy Walter. Really inspiring to other budding knife makers. thanks again.
those scales are absolutely stunning.

The Fur Elise on repeat made me think I'd travelled back in time to the 1980's and sombody had left me on hold... :-)
