I VERY much feel you on being a natural girl. I've had natural hair since I was 10 (I'm. 41). But on occasion, when I was younger, I'd get presses. I looked like an absolute weirdo with straight hair. I think it makes my face look like a foot :/ I used to think this was because I have a round face and perhaps my natural hair wasn't full enough. So when I got older, I tried straight sew ins and STILL with the foot face! Curls and I are meant to be.
I lost it at Foot 💀 I can’t. But I’m truly glad I’m not alone. I’m just team big hair don’t care to deee BONE. Really though the round face was a thing too!!! But chile I just look like a uncooked chicken nugget with follicles 😭

I'm not alone in trying to figure it out. I did my very first wash and go a couple weeks ago and it slowly transitioned to a puff going into the second week. I'm about to wash, blow it out and braid it down for a curly wig. I've been in protective styles so much since I began the transition June 2019 (I cut the remaining perm off mid 2021). I'm so indecisive about what to do with it next. You're my inspiration for trying the wash and go, I was so uncomfortable at first but it got better over time. Thank you 💕💕💕💕

Hi new subscriber here. I had a question I'm trying to protect my hair through the winter but I'm a new natural. What are some suggestions for protective styles for the winter?
My no additional hair go to is usually mini twist or two strand twist. Typically a style that doesn’t have your hair directly out too much. I also do braids or twists with added hair for something more long term. Or flat twist. I would just make sure you really moisturize your hair and seal it to avoid drying you hair out due to the temperature. I hope that helps!!
