I think it's because the tags on MAL are down as "Music" which ngl to me when I first saw it listed before the release I kinda wanted to steer away from it. Not saying that actually reflects on the show or anything though.
It's like the third highest rated anime this season on MAL
There’s so many gems this season that nobody watches. You know what’s more underrated than Vivy? Odd Taxi and Megalobox Nomad!
And the fact that it's an Original Anime without any source material makes it better. Just starting from last year, Original Anime are becoming more and more prominent it's amazing, compared to the past few years.

Pre-2010s was the peak of original anime. We had Code Geass and TTGL then.
Lol tappei nagatsuki created it aswell as rezero lol
A bit of fun? trivia. Fluorite is a mineral used in camera lenses, so Vivy's eyes quite literally have it in them.
Also really loved all the eye shots and how they managed to capture such a wide array of emotions through them.
ima copy and paste since this person said it best but it refers to the story abit
Fluorite (specifically Calcium Fluoride) is a mineral used in optics for creating lenses. "Fluorite Eye" probably refers to camera lens, which shows up in a bunch of still shots all throughout the show. The studio loves showcasing close-up shots of Vivy's eyes/lens. Symbolically, Flourite is colourless when pure but often coloured by impurities. Vivy's experience/memories gives her substance. This probably references that it is the experience that matters, and not evolutionary problems the Archive has about the human race. Additionally, this method of growth is a common trait between Humans and AI. This is how the future is entrusted.
Thank you Vivy.

I can’t believe Charlie is moist metering vivy, one of the most underrated anime’s of the season
Underrated? Not really, I would think. If you compare it to actually underrated shows like Odd Taxi or Shadows house, that is. Vivy is one of the more talked about shows this season. It has also recieving tons of praise, and rightfully so, its a great show.
That aside, watch Odd Taxi. Great show, 9.5/10.

The fight scenes need another mention. They way they do the sound effects and the visuals adds this weight to the AIs fighting that is incredible. There is this heavy yet swift feel that just looks and feels different from traditional human fights, backed up by heavy mechanical thuds and sound effects.
When it came to the fight scenes it reminded me of OG naruto hand to hand combat! Loved it!
WIT are goated
Facts the fights were really well animated
The Episode 9 fight in particular was excellent. All fights are fantastic, but this one showed an immense level of detail when it came to the hand to hand combat with well placed slow-mo sequences that made it so great. That fight was easily the best anime fight scenes of Spring 2021s season
@@mqmohammed I was just thinking that. The best fights in Naruro were the simpler ones like that, even close to the end, like Kakashi and Obito and parts of the final Sasuke vs Naruto

"this show does in 13 episodes what other shows fail to do in 13 years"
Way to dig into Bleach there, lol
@Fiamo Scarlette Why not both?
@Fiamo Scarlette Naruto is fine for the most part writing-wise until it gets to the Fourth Shinobi War Arc. Pain and the arc surrounding him is somewhat flawed, but its overall okay and the philosophy and backstory surrounding Pain is still pretty interesting. Talk no Jutsu definitely starts to become a noticeable issue during that arc though going forward.
The only objectively good arc from a writing standpoint in Bleach is the Soul Society Arc where Ichigo's saving Rukia. I personally like a lot of Bleach both before and after that arc, but i recognize that the character writing is nowhere near as good as it realistically could be. That's honestly something that Naruto generally does better than Bleach at. A lot of Ichigo's friends tend to become somewhat useless, and Ichigo himself is a bit of a 2-dimensional character himself a good amount of the time. The series tends to focus more on Ichigo's relationship with the captains and lieutenants of the 13 Court Guard Squads as well, which is fine, but they could've done that while elevating the rest of Ichigo's friends too (which would've probably helped Ichigo's character also, he just doesn't have a lot of chemistry with most the captains and lieutenants). Like, Bleach literally has 3 Sakura's in their show: Chad, Uryu and Orihime. They have some purpose in Ichigo's circle, but they're just nowhere near as useful as his friend Rukia, who's Ichigo's equal to some degree given that they're both shinigami.
At least its not Dragon Ball Super though, nearly everyone in that manga is Krillin levels of irrelevant at this point other than Goku, Vegeta, Beerus and Whis (a literal god and angel), Broly & crew, Bulma, Frieza, and Buu/Uub. Gohan barely meets the threshold, and thats only because he's back in his top form due to his training for the Tournament of Power. Its also kind of annoying that Goten and Trunks have been relegated to joke characters, you'd think a lot of DBS would've involved their growth as fighters. It really seems like a missed opportunity.
Also, i singled out Bleach specifically because Boruto is still running and is a continuation of Naruto. Bleach roughly fits the 13 year margin of the joke, Naruto does not.
@@four-en-tee I didnt finish naruto (watched a bit after guy vs Madara) but I didnt really enjoy the that much Naruto, but I've mostly loved bleach anime. It has its flaws for sure, but story wise it seems everything is connected and Kubo has a thing for dropping random stuff and make them make sense after (love it or hate it). Every character seems unique even if it is only in the design and powers. Read the manga and hoping for a great adaptation
After rewatching Bleach in preparation for new Bleach, it is stunningly worse than my first viewing and original enjoyment.

Vivy is a gutpunch of an anime. Every episode will make you feel something you thought never even existed. Truly a masterpiece of an anime.
The words "criminally underrated" has never been more appropriate to define this masterpiece, I like it more than all Ghible movies both visually and story wise. Not saying it is better factually just that I like it more
One of the coolest bits that goes under the radar is the fact that you see the fashion evolving. In the beginning you only see one or two people with green stripes and then quite a few people with a few more and then everyone's outfit is like that.
I was recommended the anime by a ummm... important person, and I really was not interested from their description, but when I watched the anime for myself in one sitting, oh my fucking god I was hooked literally the first episode, and that is difficult to say for many others. This anime is quite literally an underrated MASTERPIECE! I couldn't be happier with it that I watched it, and now I am sad there is not much else to go... In fact, it's the first anime I've seen in a while that truly made me cry at the end, and that is the rarest reaction things get from me.

Compare that to something like Odd Taxi, an actual hidden gem. That has ~75 000 members (only 1/3rd of Vivy) and made by an obscure studio.

I want to give a short review of the show as I have not done this before. I apologize beforehand for the poor writing as I am too unbothered to re-read this.
I finished the show, and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I ever had. This was not just a decent or mediocre show, It was truly fantastic, and I stand by that. I think the biggest selling point was how well pieces of the show connected to one another, leaving no plot holes in my opinion if you pay close enough attention. It was as if the ending of the show was thought up as soon as the story began, connecting in a sort of loop, where the story has no beginning and ending.
Long story short, If you have not watched Vivy and have some spare time, I encourage you to at least look into it. To give scale to how much I liked it, I enjoyed this series more than the first 13 episodes of Re:Zero, and that is saying something because Re:Zero is my 2nd favorite anime of all time.
Spoilers:
In addition, episode 6 was one of my favorite anime episodes of all time, with the show describing such horrific tragedy in such a short time. The blood of the doctor and Grace on each arm of Vivy was heart-wrenching. Grace cemented herself as such a likable character though we saw so little of her; at the end, I only wished for the her and the doctor to meet somewhere in heaven, granted that A.I could actually go there. The music is out of the world and I especially liked Diva's last song before she faded away to let Vivy take over; it was truly her last and best performance. The ending was tragic, and yet showed the fallout of the old-world, finally ending with a version of Vivy left without memories as she begins to embark on a new journey to find out what it means to sing from the soul, the mission that her old-self believed to be singing from memories; in other words, memory is the embodiment of the soul.
@I care Nice music, but please do not spam this link. In response to that music, here is some slightly more relevant music of my favorite song in the anime: ruclips.net/video/aBSEP5xc8-I/видео.html
Spoiler:
There was a scene where two birds fly off to the moon after Estella and Elizabeth died. Because this could imply that they have a soul and maybe can go to some kind of "heaven" too.
@@obambagaming1467 Spoiler:
@Obamba Gaming I really hope that they could go to a metaphorical heaven. The Doctor and Grace really deserve to be happy again as Vivy has stated before the Doctor took his own life. His last line that "Your song is Grace" really highlighted how important she was to him as well as revealed that AI and humans are not all that different; they both have a single goal in life that makes it worth living, attempting to discover and strive towards it for their entire life. However, in the case of the A.I their goal is more direct and stated at the beginning of their conception. On the other hand, for humans, it is our goal to find our purpose in life, and we shall go on like Vivy to find out what it is.
yeah episode 6 was heart breaking. Loved every part of the show.
@@andrewtang4538 I also like how in the Show, different characters/arcs are about different emotional Relationships:
Estella and Elizabeth: sisterly love between AIs
The Doctor and Grace: Love between human and AI
Ophelia and Antonio: Love between two AIs
Yui and Beth: friendship between human and AI
I cant believe you watched VIVY I LOVE YOU
I see, a man of culture.
Wasn’t expecting this. Hyped
So happy this anime is getting attention
I’m really glad charlie is talking about this masterpiece
i cant lie going into this anime i was just blasted away by how beautiful it was not only was it eye candy but i just could not get enough of how this anime portrayed pure emotion with every detail and to touch on what charlie says a bit i do believe that the start of the show was a bit slow but in no way did it make the show any worse and in no way would changing it make it any better this show is an utter masterpiece maybe even rivaling re zero ( that might be a stretch to some of you out there but in my opinion its not that its a bad show i just was never able to get into it and that's just me everybody has preference ) i just undeniably love the character progression as well, Seeing Vivy change and become just such an amazing character it was like reading all the Harry Potter books in 13 episodes not saying Harry Potter is the best book or anything but i cant deny how much Harry progresses into a badass but more than that Harry Potter is such a long book series incredibly long charlie says "this show does in 13 episodes what other shows fail to do in 13 years" not a single word is a lie this show seems short but not a damn moment is forgettable this show is definitely top 5 for me if your a big fan of getting that shiver down your spine feeling when you watch a anime i cant stress enough THIS ANIME IS FOR YOU everything to the amazing fight scenes that just give you a feeling no other fight scenes will to the soundtrack as well the show being about a singing AI i guess it wouldn't be right if the songs weren't just as amazing as everything else and the animation as well i could not expect more from the people who animated vinland saga and attack on titan even though its a different style for them i like that they tried something new because its just straight up beautiful the last thing ill touch on ( in this monster comment ) is matsumoto ( not the real matsumoto the robot ) fucking brilliant ill never forget this fucking cube man long live matsumoto. Check out the anime even if you've never really seen a anime like it try it out you just might love it because i know i did. * takes a bow *
