Videos are a great medium for many things, and paired with body/action cams, it's just perfect! And it's nothing short of impressive how much they convey, how much of it is situational etc and seems imprinted in instinct regardless of the owner and breed.
I’ve come to learn to really enjoy the situations when Ronin has to become combative, but I’ve also learned that my favorite scenes Are where Ronin meets another cool and confident dog so that they can just play and have fun together. The little licks of appeasement, de-escalating dangerous situations, being so sweet with hoomans and little kids. He just has such a wonderful disposition. You should consider hiring him to help train other dogs
l know some people came for the dominant dog but I skipped right to the Norwegian elkhound. I love that breed of dog so much!! This is a really cool point of view . I really love how you slow the video down to show the specific signs that are being presented! It really helps me understand my own dogs signals

i dont have a dog anymore but i was always curious about dog behavior. after watching a few videos of yours, im hooked (and subbed). Belgian Malinois is a dream of mine to own but I dont think i can take care of one now that i got toddlers. maybe in time i will, but for now i enjoy watching your videos and learning a lot. it reminded me how my dogs used to communicate with each other. btw that elk hound is so darn cute ♥ always catching Ronin's attention ♥

I was a meter reader when I was first hired by the electric company I retired from recently. I was on the job for 19 years. I loved it because when you were done, even if it was 10 AM, you got paid eight hours and you got to go straight home. Best job I ever had, and the most returned to job in the country at one time. Anyone that was ever a meter reader knows what I’m talking about. They paid you well to stay in shape I ran into literally thousands of dogs. You’re on their turf. The trick is, do not make iContact, just keep walking, like the dog wasn’t even there. Watch when you are leaving the yard because that’s when they will sneak up on you. The worst dogs, no doubt, not even close, Chihuahua. The scariest dog, huskies. Because you could not get a read on their attitude. They don’t bark. The hardest bite I ever had, German shepherd.

Shes a handful and I'll have to research tips on how to best raise her since shes nothing like the male dogs Ive had in the past, who were much easier to raise and werent nearly as stubborn and brave lol

It would be so much easier if humans could communicate as well as dogs do without using any words. i feel like depending too much into written words and spoken words the art of bodily communication has been lost in the modern era
shame that some good channels about dog behaviour don't have the proportionate attention of the number of dog owners in the world. People starting with dogs have no idea how well documented dog behaviour is and how some humans have perfected their analysis of it
Wtf are you talking about. They are bringing an untrained mal to a public park and letting it potentially start fights by doing nothing about its humping behavior for video views. Also half of what they are saying about the dogs behaviors in this video are simply speculative.
This is why I don't really enjoy dog parks. Most people don't actually have dogs that are friendly to all dogs. Most people's dogs try to dominate the other one or are super reactive if they have their personal space entered. Your dog is the former. It tries to dominate other dogs. Honestly not sure any if these dogs at the park would respect a smaller breed that weighed less than them. That pit was only not a problem because it was relatively smaller. Also no one's owner was seemingly giving any corrections to their dogs for bad behavior.
I dont see Ronin as the behaved dog in the situations. @ 3:00 he got corrected, YOUR ABSOLUTLY right. Ronin is the one ignoring the body language of everybody else. And most of that shit cant be seen as "playfull" esp. humping and head over back, even liking is more of a sign of taking property than invitation. Your dog sprints at anybody in there ignoring everything. And yes your right with tails and ears, they are uncertain. What would you do if a strager sprints at you while you sign him to stop. The poorest thing are the comments in here, people with no clue think thats acceptable beheaviour.
And your comment on the pit mix, submissive asking for space and you find it strange that she came back...................... thats not submissive, the whole 3 min before she showed dominance. by the way a growl should never NEVER BE seen as playful its hunting behaviour
Okay so all this is nice, but you're doing a thing where you dismiss your dogs dominant behavior and instead focus on every other dog's behavior. The mounting is not a friendly gesture. It's your dog approaching another dog that's tentative and being very dominant. Which is fine, he takes corrections very well and seems very friendly and balanced, but you gotta be honest in calling out things.
Mounting is NOT inviting to play, it’s dominance or for mating. It’s apparent by the way the other dogs react. You have taken Ronin to the parks for so long, he has had a good amount of time to socialise. You let this dog do whatever the hell he wants😬 Not good leadership on your part.

The pitt mix didn't have any ill intent, she just didn't have the socialization skills. She never tried to hurt the other dogs. I feel like she felt left out and was trying to get into the play of the other 2 dogs but pitt bull equals scary... honestly any bulldog breed is going to be pretty scary due to their breeding.
