    Zero issues so far, and we’ve put 15,000 miles on it since I made this video.

      What average mpg do you get with it. And how's it been running vs your old battery before it went out?

    Can you please make a follow up video

  • @alext8828

    Why do people make videos and then tell you what they did instead of showing it? It's a camera, not a radio. I read that the old battery weighs 118 lb. What does the new one weigh? Does it seem like the swap could be done without hoisting the battery out of the car?
    I thought of putting a piece of plywood in the trunk and spinning the battery around to get more room. I know there are screws on the bottom but then it could be tilted over to pull those out. What do we think?

    Been there, done that. I learned the hard way, I replaced the shorted cell with another refurbished cell. Three weeks later, I did it again. Two weeks later it was down again. Be smart, complete Toyota battery pack. Only way to go. Listen to this guy.

    • @alext8828
      @alext8828 Год назад

      Did you load test the pack or just go on voltage? Why wasn't that short picked up during testing? I need to do mine and I'm trying to get all the warnings upfront before I go too far. Also, I'd like to turn the battery around so I can work on it in the car. Right now it's unbolted and sitting in the car. I think it's too heavy for one person to lift. Does 118 lb. sound too heavy to lift???

    • @scottfoster7080
      @scottfoster7080 Год назад +1

      @@alext8828 you can move it by yourself but you have to get creative. The first battery had a hole blown in the side, I did Voltage test and Load the others while it was on the bench, the numbers were all to specs. I cleaned all the terminals, reassembled then confirmed total battery voltage. All was good for about three weeks, then another battery dropped. Repeated the project and a two weeks latter lost another one. When one goes bad they are all on the edge, it’s all or nothing from my experience. There are complete refurbished-replacements on the net, carful. if this is your main driver and your going to keep the car for a few more years, go to the dealer and purchase a new complete pack. Good luck.

    I know you did this video 2 years ago. How has the battery held up? I just ordered this kit for my 2008, hopefully it lasts, but I live in PA where we can get some frigid temperatures. Thank you in advance!

    • @goblazers6
      @goblazers6  2 года назад +2

      I sold the car a few months ago, but I never had any issues with it and we put about 50,000 miles on it after the battery change. We parked it outside in Idaho and Colorado and drove in temperatures below zero without issue.

      I've got a few thousand miles on it so far with no issues. There may be a slight increase in my fuel economy, but I didn't document the change so that is just anecdotal.
