I think it still turned out beautifully. 🥰 Your own hair by itself looked pretty as well. Braiding does take a long time also for me, which is why I also always prefer doing twists over braids. 😃
This style came out very cute!!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 I am not good at parting either, so I completely understand. 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓 What I have been doing is saving my parts from a professional braided style & use synthetic hair to do jumbo twists until I decide to get it braided again. Low maintenance is SO key for me. ☺☺☺☺☺ Great video !!!🤗🤗🤗🤗
Your hair is beautiful, Nancy. However I agree I bet it would have looked even better with your hair being mixed in with the synthetic hair as well as pulling the ends so it wouldn't come apart. I appreciate you sharing your triumphs as well as mistakes. Your hair is really flourishing and is growing beautifully.
I like the final result. I also like your hair braided without synthetic hair. I agree to braid the synthetic hair into your hair. I have better parts when I use a parting comb. Thanks for sharing.
I think this hairstyle can definitely work with some minor adjustments. I know you said you don't like having big parts but I think that particular aspect of the hairstyle will appeal to many as it cuts down on work time (doing the style as well as taking it down). The fact that you didn't incorporate synthetic hair in your braids gave the resulting hairstyle a little more oomph than having regular box braids, in my opinion (or maybe I'm biased because I love experimenting new things) and I feel like because of this, the synthetic hair doesn't put as much stress on your hair strands as it would if you had braided your hair with it instead. I completely agree with you that tapering the ends is a must. Maybe on your next try consider doing 1 braid like you did in this video and 1 where you borrow synthetic hair to cover the braid while braiding for comparison purposes (and for us to see, loll). Lastly, I really enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing it and can't wait for the next one! Also, if you're doing a an update video on this particular hairstyle, please mention if you had any issues with moisturizing your natural hair.
You are so right on all of these points!!! I’m all for doing a comparison video the next time I try this...as well as an update video. Great idea - thanks for the suggestions! ❤️
this was so cuuuuutteee!! the 3 things i would have done differently is i woulda used marley hair, secured each section with a small scrunchy to emulate the rubber band method, and i woulda made them a liiiittle longer. i used to do this style but with twists all the time
@@EfficientlyNatural yea like off setting the length to cheat more length from the extension hair. So instead of folding in half perfectly and even, I wouldn't make it a perfect half. I hope that makes sense
Whenever I do box braids or twist with fake hair I try not to make my parts go straight down the middle of my head. I always tend to stagnate the sections to eliminate the middle part. I also give myself options for a side and a middle part in the front. Lastly I find that braiding the root and twisting the rest of my hair works out better when adding the fake hair after you have braids your own hair...it’s also much faster then braiding the full length of your hair. This will give off a very nice boho look.
I am a novice in braiding hair so to me this style looks amazing. However i agree that the end could hv been dipped in hot water. Apart from that, it is fantastic
I actually really liked the hair style!! Would like to see a part 2 😄, but it does really look beautiful and not damaging for your beautiful hair strands😍
@@EfficientlyNatural 😂 yes it’s tough to make it work with 4b hair. I can’t find any good videos. Cassandra beccai used to do them but her results weren’t super sleek.
Honestly it just started looking worse as time went on so I just wore it for a week...mostly keeping it pulled back. I really wish I had braided the hair into my braid and did a better job securing/tapering the ends. Lesson learned. But at least it was super easy to take down for my wash day yesterday. 😀
You mean like what I did or braid the loose synthetic hair in with your loose hair like if you were doing traditional box braids? How do you make it work well?
@@EfficientlyNatural yes, exactly what you did only that I do add synthetic hair to the potion of the braided hair and like you said I also pull the ends of the synthetic hair so that when I braid they stay intact. It works well, try it again am sure it will come out the way you wanted it to. Love from Zambia
😂no I don't like it , i dont think it look good. It would have been good if there was more braids and if you had pulled the breaded hair extensions . But I think we all been there ( did a style that didn't not turns out great 😂) but thanks for sharing it's good to see the fails too

Yea, that makes perfect sense. Good idea!
I love your channel and all your videos, you make me want to put some braids on my hair too😊😊
I like the style. Maybe wearing it up will disguise the blunt ends.
I would make the ends wavy by braiding it and dipping it in hot water. I agree the braids should be a little smaller. Your hair is beautiful!

I wouldn’t call this a fail. It looks good to me! 😍
Aww, thanks!
I'm not a professional braider so I'm not sure about the technique but I do like the look your braid added to the style.
Well, thank you!!!! ❤️

I’m trying to figure out why you even need synthetic hair!

Your natural hair is beautiful 😍
Aww, thank you!
You’re welcome, great video
Have you tried curl formers? I would love to see you do it! I’ve always wondered how it would look on 4b texture.
I tried curl formers several years ago and it was a fail!!! Lol. I gave away the set

Yeah, I hate parting my hair too, sis. 😒

I think it was a great 1st attempt.

I'm watching this as part of my strategy to figure out what I can possibly do with my hair for intern year in NOLA 😢
The humidity is definitely a struggle! I did my residency in NOLA and pretty much had individual twists the whole time.
Jennifer Hudson twin with long hair.
Lol!!!!
I like your braids before you added the hair. You was going for a fuller look.
Yes exactly- but thank you!
I am also challenged by parting my hair #sigh
