I'm starting medical school this fall. The positive message of belongingness even when we don't always feel like we belong is much appreciated. As a black American and woman who's starting a second professional career in my 30s, many times, I've found myself in spaces where my competence has been questioned outright and without cause. Often I question it myself. But I feel so blessed to have had these opportunities and it's helpful to hear you utter these reminders that we too belong. So thanks!
