I had a problem installing front solid tire but the problem wasn’t me but tire itself. ( for second take i used different tire ...I recommend Lixada 8.5 front/rear scooter tire - that one was soooo easy to put on over front hub - just 3 min ( 1m at a time in microwave) and then straight on to hub - les then 20 sec later tire was on ( no need for extra person)
Best video on the M365 I've seen. No one seems to talk about how the folding mechanism breaks mostly because of people pulling on the bars backwards when accelerating/ pushing forwards when stopping. Most riders don't know that scooters are ridden like a skateboard and using the handlebars only for balance. Xiaomi should have tested this more and made it stronger. Also, use tire levers if you need to change a flat - small wheel diameter + pneumatic tires = lots of leverage needed (some bicycle tire models are hard to change too).
We measure distance in miles and speed in miles per hour. But buy our petrol in litres but measure fuel economy in miles per gallon (different to US gallon)
A policeman was stood right next to me and asked to have a go on mine. He said ride the scooter like you would a bike, with the respect of other road users
The issue with this is that you will get some Policemen and women who aren't bothered by their use, and others who will tell you that you can't ride it, and even potentially take the thing off you :(
If someone jumps out in front of you, and you kill then whole riding a scooter going only like 15-20mph, then they already had one foot in heaven my friend....
What difference is between riding a bike or riding a scooter at 15-20mph? None. There are many possibilities, anything can happen if you are moron or not cautious. Here where i live, never heard of killing a citizen with scooter. We always have one foot in heaven.
I am a big fun of ptev's .My m365 has 1000km in 2 years,I put slime in tyres from day one and no panctures so far, recently installed a display from the pro model and custom firmware- highly recommended. The 30km claimed range is actually 20-22 for my 80kg weight. I own an old bike made electric with a hub kit for up to 80km trips ,a Xiaomi ninebot mini with 3000km onboard in 3 years (i only changed tyres once and know i have ordered a replacement battery because range is about 60% from the original 20km range) great for short commuting ,has smaller footprint and you can drink a coffee with the hands beeing free. Regards from Greece, keep the good work.
I have my m365 for a month now. I have done 230kms so far. Last night i had a puncture on the rear tire. I know it's going to be hard to fix but the joy i am getting out of this thing is so worth the troubles. Sadly i am moving to Sydney at the end of June and can't take it there. I am really really sad to leave it behind. Anyway, also yesterday i saw a notice on mi home page about Xiaomi recalling some m365s having an issue with the folding mechanism(it's breaking on the move). You can enter your serial number there to see if yours is one of the affected ones. Luckily mine is ok. Hope yours will be too guys. Thanks for the review Stu!
100% agree, changing the back tire was the most aggravating thing Ive done in my entire life or at least as far as I can remember. I also blew the one I put on and had to do it again.
Thanks for your review mate, I appreciate your content and I agree with most of what you said about the scooter. I got mine 4 months ago and since then I got two flats on both front and rear tires :(. I'm now looking at solid tires and am somehow terrified about how hard they fit. A personal tip for this scooter is to grease the handlebars folding system with some quality water resistant grease. Makes a difference from heaven to earth on the folding effort and protects the folding mechanism.
I had solid tyres on the back of both my m365s and both had their batteries shaken to bits. Contacts broken on one and motherboard blown on the other. Had to order a new motherboard from China, which has since been installed. Unless you ride only on billiard table smooth surfaces, I would stick with pneumatic. Just my experience. Also the ride is a lot less pleasant on a solid tyre - 2 solids must be hell. However, I live in a city with TERRIBLE surfaces, so you might be fine where you live.
I have my M365 since December and I’ve driven 350km. I have had 2 issues. 1: Rear light - connector broke ofd 2: Front tire - replaced with airless pure rubber
@@shereelinwood9674 yes just get a rear clip to keep the rear fender in check, and when you get a flat change them for airless tires. They have ones with holes in them to make them more flexible, and it's not a huge difference from the standard tires.
I can't imagine the start of this video these days when there's scooters that go double, triple even the speeds of the xiaomi m365. This review had me set on this scooter and I've loved using it. It's the most cost effective, fast scooter. I'm thinking of getting a faster scooter with suspension soon though but those are double the price of the pro model, between 3-4x the price of the normal m365. My first m365 broke in a few weeks too, might have just been faulty but I got a replacement which hasn't broke thankfully. Biggest two tips is avoid bumps/jumps and especially water. I never jumps but bumps cause the most damage and well, water will destroy it I accidentally went through a giant puddle and it survived, one time though I got lucky.
You have convinced me to subscribe after 3 high quality videos that I've discovered from your channel. I laughed out loud during the 16th seconds of this video.
Clever intro. I got that xiaomi, helped me with work commute, and it's very sturdy. My only problem with it, or just with many e scooters in general, is that it can only go 25 km/h, whereas my average tempo with a bike is much faster, so it feels a bit sluggish, but it's just me really. I'll think about custom software to speed it up, but kinda afraid to do it. Also the range on this thing is insane.
I know this comment is a little late but just bought myself a Xiaomi M365 scooter to commute to work in my local town. Thanks for the tips and I love the way you made your video in line with Top Gear. Subbed up and thanks again Stu
tip for installing solid tires: get yourself a set of motorcycle tire levers dont get me wrong its still difficult but will be way easier than using your hands
Came across this as a result of potentially purchasing one for my daughter, who currently drives her six cylinder BMW to the beach so she can walk, run and exercise (currently locked down due to virus). Anyway, I searched for a review on the scooter I’d found for sale (£275) and bingo, I found you. Fantastic video, obviously took much planning. Great script, various shots including drone and ‘dead pan’ humour that entertained. Bloody brilliant. Subscribed and once I get my income back after the virus, I’ll donate, cheers Geoff
Enjoyed your review. As with the Chinese instructions: green light is economic mode, white is normal mode. Short press to power button to turn on, long press to switch off. One short press to power button while is on, to switch on the head light, long press to switch off. Short press twice to change mode. 😊👍.
I got this scooter about 2 or less months ago. I was going to get a Ninebot2, but the price point was a bit high for me, so I went for this one. I have to mention, I am a bit above the weight limit, plus sometimes I have groceries and study books in my backpack, so add about 8 extra kg, depending on the day. I like the performance, I am well aware that it can break more easily when you are over the weight limit. But, to the point. Got a flat front tire about 60km in. And omg it was hell. The screws that hold the tire in place are so hard to unscrew I used like 2 days juxt to get the tire off. And then, when I finally got the tire off and installed a new tube, I somehow managed to get the new one on... Idk if it was luck or just insane amounts of vaseline... but it scarred me for life. I am no handyman and I have never done anything like this before, I am just very very stubborn. Other than the tire problem, I am overall very pleased with it, I once tried to use ninebot again after that by renting it out and I noticed that I got so used to mine, I do not like any other scooters anymore. P.S. And yes! I pinctured the tire trying to put on a new one! had to use another spare thank god I had two
"P.S. And yes! I punctured the tire trying to put on a new one! had to use another spare thank god I had two" I hope you meant tube? Because if you punctured an actual tyre, you wouldn't need to throw it away unless it had a huge hole and/or no tread. Jus saying.
I am using Xiaomi Mijia for 6 months on a daily basis to go to work. got it with 290 Pounds. I saved a lot of money and time during this time, I am doing 9 Miles minimum per day. It was funny to see your review about changing the tyres. I went thru that adventure twice, now I have 2 solid airless tyres which gives me a piece of mind about the glass on the pavement from iresponsabile drinkers. I wish these things will become legal in UK, as they are so useful, safe, friendly for environment, etc, etc, I really can't say anything negative. So far can hear only Brexit news around here. Thank you for your review.
Nice review! I just want to mention that my M365 seem to limit the speed when going downhill - I can almost feel the engine braking despite holding down the throttle. So I don't get the poor braking performance that you demonstrated.... anyway, nice thorough and honest review.
Actually in Lithuania bicycle driving rules apply to electric scooters and other similar electric transport. Anything with 25km/h speed limit and up to 1kW motor is considered as a bicycle. You must overtake pedestrian at the pedestrian speed (6-7 km/h) if you are driving on the sidewalk, because there is no bicycle lane or it is not safe to drive (bumps are present) on that lane.
Very good - Thought I watching Top Gear for a moment. Nice images, nice commentary and useful info. Interesting we almost fell of ours earlier today when I braked because I thought the brake was too sharp. I would like to see some sort of luggage storage for it be really cool.
Great video. I thoroughly empathized when you described your efforts to change the rear tyre. I went through *exactly* the same thing yesterday and ended up with a new tube inside a new tyre, after much sweating, grunting, swearing and ripped skin only to find that, like you, I had torn the tube and pumping air into it was as much use as trying to use an ashtray on a motorbike. Here in NZ it it legal to ride them, but Lime scooters here in Auckland have been ordered off the road due to the high number of people making ACC (Accident Compensation Commission) claims for injuries largely caused by their stupidity. But private scooters are not affected. The ACC (Auckland City Council) is going all in for this mode of transport, so I think they were reluctant to stop the Lime franchise from operating here.
Yeah but the question is how long did you own it yet? It's a great scooter for sure and brilliantly fun (though I personally opted for a "Xiaomi" Himo C20 electric bike), BUT I'm not too sure about the longevity of the scooter.
Serbia here: my repairman changed back tyre in couple of minutes for 2 eur. Don't understand why ppl try to fix something and get frustrated if you can pay someone who really knows how to do something.
he's in the UK, nobody does anything for 2 euros there lol or even 2 pounds - I don't blame them because everything is overpriced there - like computers and mobile phones
@@michaelxz1305 I understand that prices are not the same in UK and in Serbia, of course :) but changing tyre can't be that much expensive. You saved your time and nervs. My advice.
I asked two coppers exactly this... 'What's your opinion on electric scooters? They said 'erm, what?'... I said would you stop me if you saw me riding it on the road etc and they laughed and said no like they couldn't give a shit...
Xiaomi M365 Pro is really good, but it still retains all the flaws and issues from the first model of rear fender breaking and rear light cable damaging from the tire rubbing, folding mechanism loosening and even breaking, very thin cheap tires that get punctured fast, quite bad water resistance and battery shaking with eventually breaking conctacts for quite heavy vibrations. Nontheless fantastic scooter, specially with unlock top speed to 32-35 km/h. It is probably the best scooter for the price, but can not wait for the Segway Ninebot Max which is basically M365 Pro just improved by quite a lot. Would be really nice to see a good review of that thing.
@@jasontomica8938 Of course, yet as most china stuff. Thats the only negative thing about Speedway their Li-Polymer batteries. Anyway, I upgraded to Li-ion with LG cells. Yet I have no probelms even with original battery after doing +1000km, but I am really not a fan of Li-Polymer in general.
After watching this video, I bought a Xiaomi M365, eScooter will soon be legalized here in Germany ... but only with 20 km/h and only with insurance and number plate and no, I'm not joking. My work is only 6,9 km away and I can drive there on quiet country roads ... I also like to live dangerously!
I have a m365 for 4 month and I'm really happy with it after some modifications mentioned in this review. Currently I'm an outlaw here in Germany. The upcoming law is quiet picky. The m365 will never become legal here. Because of a ton of reasons: - Too fast - Breaks - Wrong reflector color According to the draft of the law driving one in public is a "Ordnungswidrigkeit" and they can charge you up to 2000€. In by being uninsurred it can become extremly expensive in case of an accident. I use it nevertheless but ride it careful and defensive.
By the way scooters that will be legal in Germany Start around 1800€ as they are all "Made in Germany". And the Extra insurrence you will need costs 40€ per year. I have a feeling some guys from the industry took some influence on these decisions.
Best review I've seen yet. I got 100km or so on mine, already punctured the back tire and paid $25 to for professionals to put a solid on. Also got some slight wobble so I ordered the little part to put in the mechanism. If you are using it for transportation (not recreation where no one is around you) I would recommend to SLOW down, stay in the road/bike lanes if at all possible, don't ride at night unless you outfit the scooter/yourself for that purpose. I've had a few close calls by not following these simple rules. You'll be surprised how far you can go just sticking it in ECO mode and using your foot to pedal assist. Then coast down the hills.
Hi stu, that’s what I needed to hear pragmatic no propaganda. Realistic as over the next 6 months while I train in skilling and servicing on my adult kick scooter I hope it will help me to adapt to the xioumis nuances. Here in Australia there are a few local retailers who stock them. Here to they are affordable and for the short rides to the train over another 12 months would make it financially viable too.thankyou for the realistic review and I will definitely look for one with hard tyres as it would be no different to what I am riding now on the terrain I ride on
tip for solid rubber tires: put it in the microwave, just short period until it is hot but still touchable. (depending on microwave oven, 30 to 60 seconds). no need to boil it for 10 minutes. afterwards it IMPORTANT to add some dampening between the battery and the battery cover. The additional vibrations will break the soldered contacts!
As far as I know the locking hinge comes reinforced since a while back. You can test it out with a magnet. If it's magnetic, you've got the reinforced version.
As others of stated. There Clarkson is strong with you and that’s a huge compliment. Keep it up👍🏻

Use zip ties when changing the tires. both, ro make the tire rounder so it sits deeper in the groove and also to hold it when you force it on. Also, i used two spoons (the other end) to help.
I enjoy riding mine it's not the fastest scooter on the market but I have a car for commuting so it's a local nip to the shops toy for me and it's brilliant. Would recommend flashing it.
One of the best and expert Tech Analyst have ever seen! The efforts behind the scene reflect in quality and perfection of this video. The presentation is superb!
Great review! Awesome drone shots! I've had my M365 for three months now. The first thing I did was replace the folding mechanism with a solid collar. I ordered a wooden deck from Berry Boards in England. The board is awesome. I have also placed a small spring over the brake cable to ensure that the brake does not drag. Also bought a Nutcase helmet after a nasty crash into a little pot hole. (Better late than never!) Have not had tire issues yet, but know I will. Overall, it's pretty nice for the price. When it wears out, I will be looking into the Boosted Rev.
The reason why they the government won't make these scooters road legal along with other electric vehicles is quite simple. They want you to keep buying petrol. The Eco friendly progressive thought only goes so far, but when it threatens Taxation and Duty, you can stuff your scooters where the sun don't shine. They aren't interested in saving the environment. I've been all over Europe, in most cities you can hire these scooters for peanuts and off you go. Like Jeremy MK2 said, the laws date back to Viking days and they are not in any great hurry to review the relevance of such laws.
This is a very grey area. But as far as I know electrically assisted bicycles "should" fall under the same umbrella as Mopeds, which historically used to be motor assisted bicycles, although the pedals were eventually dropped. (50cc Scooters don't have pedals etc). But on saying that, Mopeds are required to have the yearly MOT, road tax and insurance. Electrically assisted bikes don't carry a VIN (Vehicle identification number) so they kinda dodge the legal classification as a road vehicle that can be classified, taxed and insured accordingly. Anyway, technically Electrically assisted push bikes are probably illegal mainly due to the fact that if you get hit by one, they won't have any insurance. Plus the owner might not have a braking system that is fit for purpose. Something that would be covered by an annual MOT and a set of rules governing just how efficient those brakes should be. Same goes for traffic indicators, brake lights and lights in general. the MOT checks and demands that if something is fitted, then it must work. As for London, to be honest I wouldn't ride this Scooter in busy traffic in any city. Obviously it is far too dangerous and to be limited electronically to a top speed of 29 MPH makes things even more dangerous, lacking the speed to get out of trouble doesn't help much. Should it be used only in the Cycle lanes along with the ordinary bicycles? I think YES for now, but what happens when the cycle lanes become congested with a mix of Electrical Scooters, and e-bikes. I'm sure that the Pedal people in their natty Lycra and shinny helmets will begin to whine and moan... :-) These machines work best when used in an environment that is not polluted by cars or commercial traffic. They are great fun, almost silent and you get a feeling that they are good for the planet.
@@Gary-Seven-and-Isis-in-1968 Agreed. I'll still ride it around London to work and stuff but not in super congested areas. Who cares what the cyclists think, it isn't their road. Everyone has the right to ride on it.
Amen! My front tire burst twice and each time, well, the first time more than the second, it was the single worst experience of my life. If I were to commit suicide, the difficulty of changing the tire on a M365 would make the first paragraph of my suicide note. Changing the front tire on this thing was an absolutely devastating experience. So, I, like you, wanted to switch to the solid tire, so that I would never have to change a tire again. But then I read that the solid tire is much harder to change than the inflatable kind. So, when my front tire burst a second time, I once again replaced it with another inflatable tire with an inner tube. It was once again a terrible, awful experience, but instead of being the worst experience of my life, it was more like the 8th worst experience of my life. You get one side on, and the other side comes off, then the other side on, and that the first side comes off, and back, and forth, and back and forth, and, I should be wearing gloves!! My hands!! And then finally, and kind of randomly, and with a whimper, the tire is all of the sudden, all the way on, and my reaction was..... restrained jubilation, because I really just feel ill used by Xiaomi. It's like a rape that inevitably ends only because it has to end. Because the rapist has to go the bathroom and eat. Next time a tire pops on my scooter, I will be ready, because I now have 2 dollars worth of plastic tire irons from Aliexpress. All the Xiaomi M365 tire changing videos barely even mention how hard it is. They act like it's an easy 5 minute task. Also, during my two tire changes, I've done some damage to the grey wire. Most of the casing is off and some wire is exposed. Still works though. I bought a new grey wire from Aliexpress for $5, for that inevitable day when it not longer works. But if that day ever comes, I'll just buy a new front wheel/motor with tire already installed for like $40 or $50 from Aliexpress or some other China type site. It's crazy that the front tire, that somehow has a MOTOR INSIDE OF IT, and with a tire already installed on it, costs around $45 online, but so be it. Thanks again Jeremy Clarkson. You're a talented guy.
OMG, you summed up the tyre change perfectly. Somebody needs to make split rim replacements for these! I took mine to a tyre fitter. He did nothing but tyres, and had all the gear, including pneumatic tools. He couldn’t do it! Eventually a tough army friend helped me, and we fitted a boiling hot solid tyre wearing oven gloves! My front tyre has now punctured, and my M365 has been off the road for 6 months, because I just can’t face it! The front tyre is *much* more difficult, because it has to stay close to the scooter because of the power cable! Tug that too hard and your scooter is a write off! Incidentally, when tyre fitting the rear wheel, my advice is to unscrew the brake disc - bending it while fitting the tyre is just too easy!
The tires for someone who has never replaced them will have the hardest time ever but after fixing them for so long you learn how to do it easily. You put the inner tube inside the tire, put the air valve where it goes and then you push it down till it goes in. Then you gotta use only one screw driver using anything more you will get nowhere you gotta use the screw driver to start getting it on while not breaking the inner tube but you’ll have to lean your weight on top on one side of the tire with your knee and then slowly get the tire inside the tube all around. It’s stupid to describe but you’ll figure it out eventually.
@@alishaaragones8534 Mine Arrived. I have clocked up about 50km travel. It's Super smooth, sounds cool (the electric motor purrs) Came with a second set of tires and inner tubes (was a surprise to be honest) and over build is solid. After comparing to the Segway ES2 I am very happy with the Xiaomi. My partner is looking to get one now too haha
The Single Malt Connoisseur's Guide to electric scooters - Jeremy Clarkson at 15mph. Excellently done, a pleasure to watch and led me to buy the fairly new and even more enjoyable pro version of the Xiaomi M365. Weird fact: the breathtakingly scenic reservoir where this was shot was one of the testing and training areas for the legendary Dambuster Raids in WW II.
In Germany, electric scooters just became legal last week. But legal limitations are so high (legal max speed is 20 kph for example), that the M365 is still illegal to use on public streets there. And just so you know in case you're going to visit Germany sometime: using the scooters on the sidewalk is not allowed, you have to use bike lanes or the street. As you can see, the German ministry of transport did everything to make these as unattractive as possible, while generally making them legal to use thus only partly giving in to the pressure. This is why personal ownership of scooters is quite uninteresting for Germans atm. That's also why ridesharing services are popping up everywhere. And let me tell you, their pricing is crazy. 1 € straight away for just unlocking a scooter, and then it's 15 cents PER MINUTE, even if you're standing! That makes 1,50 € just for the first kilometer, assuming that you'll never have to stop, and then 45 cents per kilometer onwards. It seems that European policy makers have zero interest in making these attractive and letting them become a real alternative to other means of transport. You're not alone in the UK, it doesn't look much better in other countries, the levels of unattractiveness are just different, but generally, the scooters are still unattractive to use in most of Western Europe. My theory is that policy makers behave like this because the scooters are basically all from China and the European transport industry won't profit from their rise at all. That's why they're advising the policy-makers to prevent scooter-friendly laws.

The Chinese on the scooter says when the bottom light is green, the scooter is in eco mode, and when the light is white, the scooter is in normal mode.
I’m picking up a Pro today and I plan to use Ultraseal as a puncture preventative. I use Uktraseal in my motorbike as do the Police - speed tested to 150mph with 12 nails. If it’s good enough at 150mph then I shouldn’t have issues at 15mph 😀 PS: I didn’t speed test it lol
I have been using this scooter for 3 months now, I have 650 km-s in it (12-16 km-s every not rainy working day), but I didn't have major problems. I had two flat tires during the first two months, so I decided to fill the tubes with Slime, which is a special liquid, which prevents punctures. No flat tire since then. My first tire repair took me 2 hours and I admit it was a little bit frustrating. Also I didn't change the tube, I just did a repair with a bycicle repair kit, but the next day it was flat again. So I had to do it again, but this time it was much easier, did it in 20 minutes, so I think you just need to figure it out. Anyways i was mentally prepared for this based on the reviews, so it was not a big deal for me. I didn't have any problem with the brakes at the beginning, but a few days ago I decided to finetune them, I felt like it got softer.
Excellent quality of the video mate, well done! Though I see you don't care much about your safety so I think you could replace the mainboard(with those 4 lights) for PRO version, have more info like speed readout, then you can hack it by uploding firmware that will allow you to increase the power and maximum speed up to like 45kph.
All valid points. It’s a machine that needs maintenance, much like a bicycle. Though this is a younger design and the longevity of some components should be better and with easier replacement. Although scooters which are twice or more the price of this also require maintenance.. I’m unsure the increased cost is justified yet. I do think the brake criticism is a bit unfair though. A new bicycle needs its brakes adjusting immediately and again as the wires stretch.
I love your review! Those e-scooters, especially personal ones are legal in many US states and cities. Many cities around where I live (south of LA) are flooded by e-scooters one can rent. I find riding them a lot of fun too. Two weeks ago I ordered an electric scooter which is based on Xiaomi 365, but is an advanced version of it. It is called Segway Kickscooter Max, and it can go with speeds up to 18 mph for up to 40 miles on a single charge. The production has not started yet, but I hope I will get mine sometime this July. According to the local laws, riders must have valid driver's license to operate an e-scooter. Registration and license plate is not needed. You must wear a helmet. You must use a bicycle lane if it is available. It is unlawful to ride it on the roads with speed limits that exceed 25 mph, and you should never drive faster than 15 mph. No riding on sidewalks. That'd pretty much summed it up.
I bought my Schwinn Stealth 1000 for 50$ back in 2010...dude couldnt get it to run...i messed with it and got it running on SLA batts..fast forward 9 years and battery technology has advanced and lowered in price, so now I use 2 Dewalt 20v 6ah drill batteries to power it. More speed and range, has a built it energy level gauge on the battery and its super light.

Signed from Spain. Although here the administration is dealing with negotiations and laws, the future for these vehicles is showing quite pessimistic. Currently each city is establishing its own laws which in some cases they are favorable, but in other ones they are banned. About the scooter... Well, I think that it's the first product that has truly popularized these devices. It might not be the best one out there, in fact the first generations were disastrous, but it has improved a lot over the time and fixed most of the flaws except for the wobbly handlebar. However, it has left a great legacy of a supporting community which has drastically improved the product, and even more important, it encouraged hundreds of manufacturers to create their own creature. And for consumers this is only benefitial. The pro version will fix and be a good improvement and for sure it will be a success, however it's in debt with his big brother. The m365 is now a legend. Greetings from Spain :)
My city brought public scooters for everyone to use. It costs a bit but it's really easy and fun. Those scooters are everywhere, just waited to be picked up for use. However the charging system is not working perfectly and there are a lot of empty scooters laying around. Still, really cool!
I've changed a tire on this one. Nothing especially difficult, 5 minutes. But then again, i'm a bike mechanic. But otherwise, i agree on the solid tires: less maintenance. Also, i liked the rims, proper metal, no plastic.
Thanks for your review. It was helpful. I really dig your editing format, with the exception of your pans. They give me seizures. You spend so much time pouring creativity into your video (much appreciated) but you don't bother to get a proper fluid head? Or maybe a good slider? If your pans were smooth, this video would simply "feel" far more professional and polished. The jerking and stuttering is painful to endure. (I know... 1st world problems) I'm only offering the critique because you clearly have a talent for this. Keep up the good work!
@@StusReviewsUK LOL thanks, brother. We use the iFootage Shark Slider Mini to shoot a lot of product b-roll in our studio, and it's a rock star. Not perfect, but powerful with practice. I had a flat front and back tire at the same time!!! I hear you! And the break, oh yeah... But I'm in love with this scooter anyway. Thou after 7 months the battery cells started to charge uneven. I wonder if anybody has any idea what to do with that without buying new batteries?
The battery cells inside are of poor quality made in China to cut the corner for cost down on the unnoticeable aspects. You might find workshops to replace battery cells to notable brands such as "Panasonic" or "LG" for better longevity.

Im more amazed by a british guy not using the metric system
They use the metric system except for miles for distance and stones for weight iirc.
We’re a very confused nation. I understand centimetres and inches and feet and miles, can’t get my head round kilometres though 🤷🏼♀️
@@NumfarUK
1000 mm = 100 cm = 10 dm =1 m
1000 m = 1 km
We measure distance in miles and speed in miles per hour. But buy our petrol in litres but measure fuel economy in miles per gallon (different to US gallon)
I work out the fuel consumption for my car in miles per litre 😁
A policeman was stood right next to me and asked to have a go on mine. He said ride the scooter like you would a bike, with the respect of other road users
The issue with this is that you will get some Policemen and women who aren't bothered by their use, and others who will tell you that you can't ride it, and even potentially take the thing off you :(

Its the same in holland, most officers shows interest and give a warning so you have to walk.
If someone jumps out in front of you, and you kill then whole riding a scooter going only like 15-20mph, then they already had one foot in heaven my friend....
What difference is between riding a bike or riding a scooter at 15-20mph? None.

What is the actual range for a 30-40 kg person
@@shoppingcart2589 A 30-40 kg person would be taken away by the wind, I suggest some food for that person before attempting to ride a scooter.
Thanks for the review Stu!
this guy deserves a tv show lol. amazingly produced
1: Rear light - connector broke ofd
2: Front tire - replaced with airless pure rubber
Would you recommend? I'm researching before I buy
@@shereelinwood9674 yes just get a rear clip to keep the rear fender in check, and when you get a flat change them for airless tires.
They have ones with holes in them to make them more flexible, and it's not a huge difference from the standard tires.
You belong to the audience now mate, such good review, God bless you, looking forward for another good videos!
Put custom firmware and you're good xD
Man! I never thought I could be entertained by a scooter review, awesome review!

I know this comment is a little late but just bought myself a Xiaomi M365 scooter to commute to work in my local town. Thanks for the tips and I love the way you made your video in line with Top Gear. Subbed up and thanks again Stu

tip for installing solid tires: get yourself a set of motorcycle tire levers
dont get me wrong its still difficult but will be way easier than using your hands
Why use your bare hands when you can have tools to use?
Is better solid tires?
Came across this as a result of potentially purchasing one for my daughter, who currently drives her six cylinder BMW to the beach so she can walk, run and exercise (currently locked down due to virus). Anyway, I searched for a review on the scooter I’d found for sale (£275) and bingo, I found you. Fantastic video, obviously took much planning. Great script, various shots including drone and ‘dead pan’ humour that entertained. Bloody brilliant. Subscribed and once I get my income back after the virus, I’ll donate, cheers Geoff
Cheers for the kind words Geoff and welcome! 🥃👍
P.S. And yes! I pinctured the tire trying to put on a new one! had to use another spare
thank god I had two
"P.S. And yes! I punctured the tire trying to put on a new one! had to use another spare
thank god I had two" I hope you meant tube? Because if you punctured an actual tyre, you wouldn't need to throw it away unless it had a huge hole and/or no tread. Jus saying.
TheKievKen yeah, the tube. Sorry for the confusion.
Thats the regenerative braking he mentioned
He reminds me of James May hehe!
The ACC (Auckland City Council) is going all in for this mode of transport, so I think they were reluctant to stop the Lime franchise from operating here.
honestly I bought it here in Italy locally for 340€ and hadn't any problems what so ever, same for my friends in Germany and Austria
Yeah but the question is how long did you own it yet?
It's a great scooter for sure and brilliantly fun (though I personally opted for a "Xiaomi" Himo C20 electric bike), BUT I'm not too sure about the longevity of the scooter.
did you buy it in a shop that cheap??
Serbia here: my repairman changed back tyre in couple of minutes for 2 eur. Don't understand why ppl try to fix something and get frustrated if you can pay someone who really knows how to do something.
he's in the UK, nobody does anything for 2 euros there lol or even 2 pounds - I don't blame them because everything is overpriced there - like computers and mobile phones

Tyre issues = put slime in the tubes
Brake issue = jump off.
BigDuke6ixx yeah was thinking same things. The brakes are disc and obviously just need tensioned correctly. Put some fluid in the tyres and done
Rear brakes is not effective as front brakes. Rear braking harder will just drag rear tyre. Front disc brakes needed.

I've got the Pro and it's fucking fantastic. Not a single flat, perfectly fine in the rain; a great commuter. Not sure what you're on about...

we need a number plate in Germany? aber hallo
I have a m365 for 4 month and I'm really happy with it after some modifications mentioned in this review.
Currently I'm an outlaw here in Germany. The upcoming law is quiet picky. The m365 will never become legal here. Because of a ton of reasons:
- Too fast
- Breaks
- Wrong reflector color
According to the draft of the law driving one in public is a "Ordnungswidrigkeit" and they can charge you up to 2000€.

You're dumb, there are many electric scooters with foam tires or plastic
Evan Suddreth he means that the tyre is actually made of rubber, not air
I'm going to buy the new 1s!
tip for solid rubber tires: put it in the microwave, just short period until it is hot but still touchable.
Thanks!!!
Solid advice, thanks, truly thank you!!!

(Better late than never!) The reason why they the government won't make these scooters road legal along with other electric vehicles is quite simple.
Agreed. But how come there are electric bikes around London now? Doesn't that same law apply because its a mechanically propelled vehicle too?
These machines work best when used in an environment that is not polluted by cars or commercial traffic.
Your reviews should be on national tv also before tv goes extinct! Excellent is an understatement
Lolo best comment ever
I ride it for 2 years now, so I'm able to change the tyres with my bare hands :)
Your hands must be hench.
How about your battery? Have you change it?
Outstanding review, props! 🙌🏿
I am anxiously waiting for you to tell. “This is the best electric scooter (pause like Clarkson) in the world”
got puncture on both my tyres, bought solid tyres and just used a hot air pistol for 1 minute, then it was easy to put the tyres on :)
Yep. Jeremy Clarkson. That's what I was going to say. Everyone else is saying it too.
Yh
The tires for someone who has never replaced them will have the hardest time ever but after fixing them for so long you learn how to do it easily. You put the inner tube inside the tire, put the air valve where it goes and then you push it down till it goes in. Then you gotta use only one screw driver using anything more you will get nowhere you gotta use the screw driver to start getting it on while not breaking the inner tube but you’ll have to lean your weight on top on one side of the tire with your knee and then slowly get the tire inside the tube all around. It’s stupid to describe but you’ll figure it out eventually.

Robin Anna'Niaz hey have you ever been stopped by the police? I am considering buying an electric scooter but am so afraid that i am gonna be stopped
@@rotationalmotion fortunately I was never stopped. But mine was a skateboard
@@rotationalmotion same!
Does battery last
The Chinese on the scooter says when the bottom light is green, the scooter is in eco mode, and when the light is white, the scooter is in normal mode.
The part under the light says short press to turn on, long press to turn off, and when the scooter is on, short press twice to switch modes.
thank you for this honest review! i'm thinking of getting this scooter for Christmas, cheers from California!
Same
I’m picking up a Pro today and I plan to use Ultraseal as a puncture preventative. I use Uktraseal in my motorbike as do the Police - speed tested to 150mph with 12 nails. If it’s good enough at 150mph then I shouldn’t have issues at 15mph 😀 PS: I didn’t speed test it lol
The brakes isnt a problem, because you shouldnt ride maximum speed when there is a possibility for people to get in front of you
You know what people are like... they hide in bushes and then jump out on you at random times... or at least they do for me 🤔
@@StusReviewsUK so bushmen hide and then try to attack u?

Hi, i have bought that kit, but have yet to upgrade the fw. Have you got an updated link with all the steps and fw downloads at all pls. T.i.a😊
@@fleebleflam Sorry but no, you will find all on google.
Ok np😊
All valid points. It’s a machine that needs maintenance, much like a bicycle. Though this is a younger design and the longevity of some components should be better and with easier replacement. Although scooters which are twice or more the price of this also require maintenance.. I’m unsure the increased cost is justified yet.
I do think the brake criticism is a bit unfair though. A new bicycle needs its brakes adjusting immediately and again as the wires stretch.
18:00-19:40 I was like.. "Is this Top Gear??" :-D Super review :-)
There are a few video tutorials on RUclips that make changing tyres look incredibly easy, yet most people say it is a job from hell.
Post a video. I’ll sub
Same happened to me but I got the honeycomb hard tires after. Fu. Ing. tire I had to cook the tire to get it in the weel
The BBC should hire you for TOP GEAR. Great review!
True true! ITs called Stu's reviews = new Top gear!
Mate, your review combined with editing quality is outstanding for the amount of subscribers you are at now.
Wish you all the best and staying here for the new content to come.
Thanks for the kind words!
I changed my tires for 10 inches...easier to change (4 or 5 min) and more resistant to punctures...and the ride is a lot smoother...it also go faster.
Can you provide a link to thesec 10" tires pls😁
Fantastically made video mate, thanks for raising awareness to legalisation within the UK. Hopefully the petition can make a change!
I've changed a tire on this one. Nothing especially difficult, 5 minutes. But then again, i'm a bike mechanic. But otherwise, i agree on the solid tires: less maintenance. Also, i liked the rims, proper metal, no plastic.
It's all about skills...people who don't have skills in that kind of things alway said its hard....
Or you can buy a back entire wheel on amazon or other online shops like ebay.com for only 35 euros you get a new wheel qnd solid tires already mounted
Thanks for the feedback Robert- a motorised pan/tilt head is on our radar! Stay tuned for finer panning! 😜
@@StusReviewsUK LOL thanks, brother. We use the iFootage Shark Slider Mini to shoot a lot of product b-roll in our studio, and it's a rock star. Not perfect, but powerful with practice. We use the Lumix platform, so our setup is light. You'd need something more powerful if you're using larger cameras. Subbed!
