Wow! A tough first day! It sucks getting on the wrong trail especially on a long day like that. I think I told you before but one time I hiked 9 hours only to hike into the town I had left that morning. We had no GPS in those days and a trail relocation got me confused. Oh, I got lost at that exact same spot in July, and ended up adding 2 miles onto an already long day. First day is always hard. You got this!
